Self-sustainable homes
synchromesh replied to synchromesh's topic in Sustainable Technologies & Ethical Living
At first I was just thinking of selling the standard things (apples, carrots and eggs, etc), but I guess the sky's the limit. Thanks for the encouragement. Building a new one. A dome shell or a cabin is probably what I'll go for. Yeah, I know. That's why I really need to do my research. And I'm hoping that this thread will help me with that. That's doable! - http://thehempbuilder.com/pictures/hemp-home-under-construction-at-billen-cliffs_s -

Yeah, and it can let you know in more ways than one as well. Although it's usually just an upset stomach for me, I've also had things like headaches and dizzy spells after eating some junk. -

Thanks for the info, but I doubt I'll ever be going that big. If the conditions were regularly good, and I wanted to be a beekeeper/hobby farmer, would 1 acre see me through? -
It isn't? They do? What do you think the potential risks in this "child protection case" were? Even if the mother was a drug addict, what dangers could have she posed to her newborn in that single day? No wonder they're so indifferent then... "Someone was saying that 'Oh, we're CYS and we found something in your system,' and at that time I never even heard of it before. It means that we have to take custody of your child," Mort said. Not to mention the hospital as well: "We have initiated an investigation to compare our standards to other community and regional hospitals. And if necessary, we will advise our reference lab to critique their standards for consistency." Use your imagination...

If there's only three episodes, then I've definitely got to watch the other two. Thanks, Sheather.

You're welcome guys. Sheather - What do you mean by 3 episodes? It's on every Sunday and Monday isn't it?

"What goes up must also come down." Well, the computer could definitely be a part of it. Tell me, did your eyes hurt at any point of the computer's use?

Zen, do you think it's possible that you overslept on the sober days? I only ask as although 9 hours sleep makes me feel great, 10 makes me feel really tired.

Great idea. Being that you've pretty much covered everything already, this is all I could of: A forum and/or chat room A videos section (you could just use YouTube vids) A permaculture news section (you could just get a feed from another site)
