What I mean by an indigenous perspective is a book that is written by an Australian Aboriginal person, in their own words and yes, describing the cultural use of plants in their particular country and indeed the spiritual aspects of plant use within their mob. I understand there are hundreds of groups of people who may be using the same plant in different ways, i'd just be interested to read an alternative to a non-indigenous person's understanding of particular plant use as they have been 'told' or which is written historically.

    Meth Epidemic

ThunderIdeal indeed I did not say I wish meth didn't exist, what I do wish is that the problems it causes by those who react badly when coming down off the experience (plus the financial burden it creates) would cease to exist e.g fuck off. If it was not responsible for causing such misery to me personally I wouldn't have even offered my alternative perspective on the negative aspects of it, considering some posts here are hailing its benefits. Indeed I agree there are a few appealing aspects to using meth but its not a path I wish to go down anytime soon. I respect your right to ingest any drug/substance you desire, but generally I base my opinions on my own experience, not scare stories promoted by the anti drug brigade or media and as such from what i've seen, I don't like it.

    Mobile login is different?!

it said it was the 666th topic in this subject! :D and my mobile login does have the 'view new content' option, indeed I am using it now. I currently have only have internet access via my mobile so some of the popular features of the original forum are unavailable in the mobile format. I'll just sulk about it then until I can get a new computer!

    Meth Epidemic

ok well I was in a bad mood when I posted last night so apologies for my simplistic approach to this topic as was evident in my reply. My post was mainly in reference to the fact that making meth cheaper would impact negatively in so many ways that I don't believe it's a positive suggestion to be made. However I do realise that many people use recreational drugs in a restrained manner and indeed use the drug in a way so as to not necessarily impact badly on those around them. This I believe to be true and have seen it first hand. However the negative aspects that i've experienced by other users close to me outweighs the positive aspects of it in my opinion. i've never ingested methamphetamine so I can only 'say it how I see it'. Naturally sourced ephedra sounds to me to be a positive alternative and as a plant it seems to be an awesome example of medicine in its purest form. I'm not anti drugs, i'm all for nature providing us with everything we need. As for backyard lab made meth I believe its an impure toxic substance, and as such not conducive to one's spiritual or physical health.

Thanks Alice, will keep checking online. The only book i've found so far is Mayi (means feed/food) published by magabala books. An interesting little book with some basic information and some nice photos.

    Meth Epidemic

yeah well personally i have seen/felt the effects that this street drug has had on loved ones and apart from the awesome sex and momentary niceities it can bring on, it also turns some people into monsters. So bringing the price of it down would completely ruin alot of peoples lives as it would mean some would abuse it more and subsequently abuse their loved ones more too. So meth can fuck off as far as i'm concerned, after all the damage i've seen it do.

    Home grown hair conditioner?

Jojoba oil is actually not oil, it is a 'wax ester' which is very similiar to human sebum so its good for oily skin, as the theory is that topically it tricks your face into thinking it is oily enough thereby reducing the amount of oil it needs to produce. As for hair it merely coats the end of the hair shaft making it feel and look nicer. But an awesome plant product nontheless.

make that *acv. But soapwort hey? I'll ask my herby friend that one. Some people use 'soap nuts'. Can get them online.

    Home grown hair conditioner?

ha! Funny link. And a bit weird the thought of self-cleaning hair. But I had a friend who never washed his hair. And it never looked/felt greasy or stunk. So quite plausible. But being female I can't imagine smelling au naturale and I have yet to meet a man who would appreciate such. So i'll stick to my homemade shampoo soap and acu rinse thanks!

wtf another giggle. Funny and stupid all at the same time!
  25. Well I stumbled upon this thread and walked into a war of words or so it seems. Can I say this simply as I have only limited intelligence... Being articulate and intelligent and able to think ahead so as to out manoeuvre with facts and logic is all well and good but if the world is being degraded to the point of destruction then who cares what is being said here and why are you mob arguing about it? Is this thread changing the world with its *voice of reason* or is it an attempt to ridicule others who have differing views? Whatever the case may be, it's been real. Real funny actually and gave me a good laugh so cheers guys and best of luck with your bitching
