Hey guys and girls, I figured this was the most appropriate place to post some pictures of my seed grown acacias that are currently cranking along in this weather, these trees are currently about a year and a half old and have been in the ground for most of their lives ( I like to consider them hard grown). Also this will become my permanent thread which I will continue to update as they grow Acacia Acuminata (currently as tall as me this photo was taken at eye level): A shot from the base of the same tree: Acacia Maidenii (6 inches or so shorter then the acuminata): More photos to come tomorrow

I have done exactly what mauve said and my window faces south so it gets the hot midday to afternoon sun, although the glass bottle I had filled with water had black tape around it blockig any light from getting to the rootzone. I left this cutting in the glass for almost a year as it kept putting on new growth without me doing much at all besides topping up the water when it got low and the occasional misting, it was in the glass for so long when I decided to pot it up I struggled to pull the rootball out of the neck of the bottle.

Repotted these three and took pictures of them

holy crud! great stuff, I don't have many but this graft was from a bunch of mixed trich seeds I grew and is about 2 1/2 years old now I need to start some new grafts this year I've been out of the loop far too long plus I have peres coming out the wazoo, thanks for the inspiration guys EDIT: note the graft is globular and I susspect it to be an echinopsis spp. time will only tell

I am saying GOT is the winner his grafts are of monstrous size and all very healthy, I will PM you later in regards to your prize And cactuscarl I will have a look and see and PM you. If someone else wants to start a new competition feel free too, whoever does want to has to start a new thread and run the competition themselves

Hey guys and gals I have a Psychotria Viridis plant that is about 30cm tall in a 100mm round pot and is currently putting out 2 new shoots so it will eventually have two main branches, I am selling it because I could soon be moving and don't know if I will be able to care for it. As the title says on the Drum webpage they have a current poll going asking Australians to vote as to whether they think we should follow Colorado and Washington and legalise cannabis, here is the link to vote; http://www.abc.net.au/news/thedrum/polls/ I personally think there is a lot more then 30% of Australian that would like to see changed laws regarding cannabis use, so I am making and effort to share this page on facebook and post it here because in this day and age technology and social media tend to work quite well at getting certain messages across to the people we want to hear them.

I think if it were legal the people who already posses the skills and knowledge of growing cannabis in Australia would become the people running things at top of the industry. If cannabis became legal for recreation like alchohol or cigarettes the demmand would either stay the same or increase due to people being more open to purchasing a legally available product, this would be a bonus to the growers as the prices would stay approximately the same while the market grows therefore the growers would end up making twice as much as ever before. People will eventualy get sick of having to find dealers that are 'on' only to end up spending their money on some crappy schwag half hermied bud, if cannabis was regulated at least the quality would be consistent

hmm it is some what dissapointing, that in Australia today there are still people that will vote against something because that thing is not in their own personal interests. I mean seriously who in this day and age still has negative stigmatic view in their heads from years of brainwashing propaganda, if they do and they still see it as a harmful gateway drug knocking on the doors of our communities ready to corrupt our youth and turn their brains to mush, well I guess there are a lot more ignorant Australians then what I thought. Maybe we should vote to close certain churches as they are a gateway to harder things like child abuse...

Yeh i know, it just means for every 6 people supporting the cause there is 16 people that are against the cause. But even at 31% (if that was converted to entire australian population) means there are more then 7 million citizens willing to support the cause

Hey guys I was out and about the garden today moving stuff around as to sunny spots and I no longer have room in my new garden bed for this Catha plant. I grew this plant from seed that came from planthelper's f1 or 2 catha crosses, It has 3 small shoots emerging from the base another 3 larger branches around 20cm long and the main stem which has been topped (so I could keep a cutting ) also has a new branch around 15 - 20cm long This plant shows red all through the stem and in new leaf growth which turn to a caramel brown sort of colour and go green when matured I believe this plant is a red/ vienna white hybrid. Any experts should feel free to correct me This auction will run until tomorrow night and end at 9pm Australian eastern daylight savings time. You can bid as many times as you like. Plant will be sent bare-rooted via express post . At 9pm when I post in this thread to declare the auction is over the last person that has bid will be crowned the winner and PM'd. Yeh I think once parcels are in Aus our postal service tends to dick about with some things, but like nitro said everything adhered to what they asked. I am also very thankful I was put on that list, you are a legend nitro not just for spreading the love but for being the amazing green thumb you are, getting your mutants to flower and producing some amazing crosses and sending them out for us Aussies to enjoy is a mighty task. Whether my seeds arrive or not this whole thing still makes me happy knowing these genetics are now in Aus, everyone here thanks you
