I'm so annoyed that Salvia is illegal in the land of Oz. I really wanted to grow some bonsai style.

How Many People Can Live on Planet Earth?
Sheather replied to nabraxas's topic in Sustainable Technologies & Ethical Living
I have a feeling that with correct management the world could support a whole lot of people. Keeping the ocean clean and safe would be my major concern, as most of our oxygen originates in phytoplankton (That is, unless we figure out how to farm the stuff effectively). If we correctly utilised solar and wind power (or better yet, fusion), and managed multi-tier rooftop gardens for food, and purification plants to recycle water, what cap would we have? Just the amount of food we could produce really. Correct me, please if I'm missing something, I have little knowledge of this subject, these are just my thoughts on the matter. I think 10 billion is a stupid number from Teotz, being high and mighty about his "top secret" information. If we treated the world right I think 10 billion could be exceeded quite easily. -
Cardio like hell, if you want to lose weight I would recommend you don't take up muay thai or any other martial arts, as that will likely build muscle. You want to eat healthy. You should still consume fats and meats, but keep a high intake of fruits and veg. http://www.marksdailyapple.com/primal-blueprint-101/ This site may help if you find conventional dieting systems to be a pain. It is quite logically explained and sound (imo)(though it does focus on optimal weight/muscle, not weight loss) As to beer, your average light beer will have about 5g of carbs in it. ONE slice of white bread can have more than 12. I suggest don't carb count. Don't calorie count. Starving yourself of sugars may make your body freak out and try to conserve fats. But yeah, cardio it up, avoid muscle building exercise (that will increase your overall weight I assume) Just my 2c. I did a lot of looking into this kind of thing a year or two back, but don't remember everything clearly, so check facts rather than simply take my word eh? I don't want to be held to account Good luck! Edit: holy crap that is a rant and a half.

Give the people a common enemy and they will follow the leader willingly. Always fuelling a war, we're doing a pretty good job of finding them I think. I have never really paid attention of the "News" for reasons btotl states quite well. Congrats to the government for keeping the sheep in line.

I'd like to tag along. Wouldn't have much input but it would be a good opportunity for me to pump you all for information

There doesn't seem to be much happening with the ring at the moment, is this just a winter lul? I'd really like such a fantastic system to be utilized, but is it dying?

Hey guys, I joined a little while ago, but was a little nervous about posting or doing anything until just now, so I've been lurking the Chemistry and Ethnobotany boards. I'm looking to get into growing, particularly carnivorous plants and bonsai, and was wondering what you thought was a good starting point in aquiring seeds? I don't have a great deal of capital at the moment so the AFSR looks useful, though quite limited at this point. Would it be a good idea to just find a nearby nursery and look around there, and start slow? (Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this, wasn't quite sure where it would be appropriate)

That, I am aware of. But if I'm going to Sydney anyway, and in the area anyway, what harm?
-
One day at a time is all I intend Thank you for the advice.

Thanks guys. I did read that thread on Carnivorous plants Santiago, found it fairly useful. I guess I shall start with nurseries and research then A nursery in northern Sydney could be useful, I visit fairly regularly to see my mother, so I'll look into what (if any) restrictions there are of flying plants and see if I can bring some back next time I go down. I'm a pretty quick study, so I hope it won't be too long before I'm utilising even the high end trading thread. (If that ends up getting off the ground) Just need the cash to start buying plants now. Shouldn't require too much to start, but lots of projects all beginning now. I need to make time too
