    Most dangerous plant - Ongaonga

If I recall correctly the only human death recorded from Ongaonga was a lightly clad hunter who fell into a patch of it. As part of my old job I removed a lot of it daily and noticed a few things about it. Some dogs would play with and rip it up run through it all day and seemed unaffected, others knew to stay away from it. The NZ Red Admiral eats it as its main food plant. Getting stung by it really does hurt but what was more interesting to me at least was that it made me feel somewhat confused and in a bit of a stupor for the rest of the night.

    Moving to Melbourne

Hey all, I'm planning on moving to Melbourne early next year, June at the latest. Set to get my passport and tickets after the new years/xmas rush, then I'm going to try and save a bit of money fruit picking for a few months before heading over. I'm planning on sticking around for a couple years, and looking for work in horticulture. Will probably take the first job I find tho when I get there, a bit of hospo experience might pay off in a big city but I hate that work Going to try and save for travel in South East Asia ;) I basically wanted some ideas on where to live (what areas have cheap rent etc), maybe some tips for finding work, things to check out, what to expect yadayada. oh and hello melbourne peeps look forward to meeting you
  7. got that exact feeling ^^ when working with mugwort tincture, scared me off using it much for a while. came to the conclusion i was catching myself slip into a dream state. the more i experimented with mugwort the more i noticed the dreamy effects before sleep also

    PANAMA

Yeah definitely P. poepiggiana, more than a bit of interest in this has been expressed at the Nook and elsewhere no doubt. In the link Kada posted it mentioned Carapichea ipecacuanha Cinchona pubescens..

    Salvia Divinorum 'NZ Strain'

If I remember my last correspondence with them all their plants were from the same clone, they seemed to have no trouble getting flowers each year and I think even seeds. Woohoo!

    Leafy Ethno Photo/Grow Log

Thought I would start a thread to document my experiences growing leafy ethnobotanicals. Hopefully some of this will benefit people growing in a colder climate. Leonotis leonurus in snow Physalis peruviana before flowering Psychotria alba Duboisia hopwoodi seedlings. Just noticed these today, has been a couple months since I sowed these. Ugni molinae Will update as soon as I take some more pics.
