Ever adopted a dog? Pros/cons or stories?
Amazonian replied to theuserformallyknownasd00d's topic in Chill Space
Hey d00d . How nice to consider saving a dog from a shelter . I haven't adopted a dog before but would like to say a few things about it . You say she barks and appears vicious when in her cage/ kennel, I'd say she's scared and / or protecting her area, and may see everyone as a threat?! You say she looks like she's been in lots of fights?! She may be aggressive towards other dogs and that could be a problem if you have friends that bring dogs over or want to take her camping where there may be other dogs. What's she like with other dogs around her? Maybe she's not a fighter but been picked on by other dogs. If she is a fighter and your prepared to have a dog run or something for when other dogs visit etc that's great. She sounds like she'd be a good guard dog. Whats she like with kids? I know it may be that there is no history of problems with kids but it's something to think about. I know any dog is capable of menacing a child/kids. (Sometimes I feel sorry for dogs with what they have to put up with with kids, lol. ) Does the shelter know any history of the dog? What happened to previous owners, how did the dog end up there ? Is it a fence jumper? I love dogs. Dogs are great and most homes should have one, lol. It would be a hard decision choosing a dog from a shelter, but good for you d00d, I am sure you will end up with a best friend and be able to help the dog fit into your way of life. It would feel good to bring a dog home from a shelter who hasn't had such a great life, and love it like its never been loved before . -

^ Where's that positive Sallubrious I've long admired?! . Sad for me to read things are not good for you. Thinking of you and your family. I wish I could create a better life for you. If we are our own creators, why is my friend so miserable . Love to you and yours Sallubrious. May there be brighter times ahead.

EGA 2017 psychedelic symposium and headliner presenter suggestion...
Amazonian replied to RonnySimulacrum's topic in Chill Space
Thanks Ronny, This is great news. Really looking forward to December 2017. I'd like to nominate Evil Genius (our SAB mod') to be a guest speaker at EGA. He is an authority on cactus, written books on cactus etc... Maybe someone else can put forward a more convincing spiel as to why we should have Evil Genius attend EGA as a speaker, lol, but he is seriously the man, the cactus man- 37 replies

I just remembered my brother turns 60 on the Saturday...Wahhh! Devo'd. Not sure how I'll work around it, but will make sure I catch up with you before you leave niggles. Maybe I can make it on the Sunday instead of Saturday evening. Will let you know.

Hey Plant Boy :). Yeah, I'll make sure I catch up with you before you become a non Melbournite....you traitor you! Lol. Really happy for you though. By by the way, I'm hoping you mean the weekend of the 2nd and 3rd of July, because if not, I've already missed out, lol. Hmm, unless of course you mean June in 2017? looking forward to catching up.

Over the weekend i was getting into a bit of a debate with an old mushroom veteran about the myth that Magic Mushrooms contain Strychnine. I was also led to believe a long time ago that 'shrooms contained strychnine. But now am confident that they DO NOT have any strychnine in them. I have been looking for some concrete evidence to produce to this old mushroom veteran to put him in his place. I have been 'googling' for hours and still there is mixed opinions about mushrooms containing strychnine. I searched the Corroboree and only came up with this link that still has nothing that i can use as proof . So, is there any new research with evidence that i can use? Cheers. http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=10208

I think if we see the bar getting close to the goal, we might donate again (well, speaking for myself) just to see the target reached. Torsten has been paying for server fees since the creation of the forum, and even now is only asking for donations for part of the fees ( i cant find his post where he mentions server costs) . Not to mention the time and effort he puts in to keeping the Forum running for us . I think its a pretty good deal, lol. Lucky he's not charging back fees with interest . .

I've noticed some generous donations going on in the donations box . Thanks to all that are able to contribute. We all benefit from it hey. Pity we can't get that donation bar to work cumulatively. How are the donations going Torsten, are we getting close to the target? Or half way at least?

I worked another Mother's Day this year, but got to hang out with the kids after work. Just wanted to show off my awesome new Bluetooth speaker the kids got me for Mother's Day. The brand is Marley and it's outer made from bamboo and canvas. It sound pretty neat hey. My car has a crap radio so now at least I can listen to music of my choice in the car, and in the shower and maybe at work . I also got a cactus candle and some chocolate coated ginger, but I think they changed the recipie, it's a lot less gingery and once was fibrous and nicer, I'm still eating it though. Lol. I know the speaker looks like a stubby hey, lol. Something a bit different .

Hmm. Gonna have to investigate. Do you mean the 'remember me' field? Not sure if I've seen a 'keep me logged in' before. I mostly SAB from my iPhone or iPad and the forum is presented in a very basic way, but those options would be present on all devices huh. I'll experiment after. Might have to send you a long PM TI, or, a short one with a long pause. Lol. Edit: yeah I always untick the remember me box. I'll leave it ticked and see if it helps . Thanks -

In relation to Personal Messages, Is there a timed out setting? A few times now I've composed long PMs and when I tap submit, I get a window saying I need to log in. I lose the whole post which is annoying and it's hard to replicate the same message again . It's like after 20 minutes I get timed out. -
^ I just checked my PayPal receipt and my payment was also in USD even though it appeared as oz $ when I was donating. Oh well, now I don't feel like as much of a tight ass, lol

Don't Cha hate it when... You just got your pizza, you sit down to eat while watching a movie, you buy the new Star Wars movie from iTunes for twenty four fricken bux, tap play, and then it then tells you it will take 9 hours to download. Argh! Lol.
