Lol. Nah, I will have coconuts and figs and fungi to eat, and i wont be naked cause i have cotton to spin, and i will have bamboo to make bowls and cups out of . *see thread of "top 5 plants to take to an island" ... http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=41332&hl= The spatula is really just for spanking anyway, like a safe weapon to beat off the would be thieves who want to take my plants without asking nicely. . Maybe it could double as a little gardening shovel. lol.

Hmmm, i use a wooden spoon a lot, but i'd probably say a plastic spatula. Those things are great for getting every last bit of food out of a pot or bowl or container (so much so, that you could almost put the pot back in the cupboard as clean ) . I have heard a spatula being refered to as a 'meanie' because when you make a cake mix and use the 'meanie' to scrape the bowl, there's nothing left for the kids to lick. Lol.

Some people arent link clickers...i suggest you upload a few of your favourite photos here so people could see your pics as they enter this thread?! Nature is the best photographic subject. My method is to pinch the stem at the base between my thumb nail and fore finger. My finger nail works perfectly to sever the stem neatly, leaving the stub behind. ( talking about picking edibles of course) .

Yeah, to have it display as 'private', you would be signing in anonymous, AFAIK. If you have found another way, maybe you could post it here for others that might ask the same thing.

The humble cable tie
Amazonian replied to waterboy 2.0's topic in Sustainable Technologies & Ethical Living
I think i have a bit of a thing for cable ties, I like to have the whole range of sizes in the tool box. They're just so versatile, and if you dont have one long enough for a job, you just join several of them together. I always have cable ties in my camping kit. That's where i find them most useful. Among other things, they join tarps together so well to make wind breaks around the tent veranda. They're good for joining chicken wire to a post for fencing. You can also use them as hinges for gates. They are like a rope/string/wire...a lazy mans (or woman in my case) fix it . Lol. They can be sharp once you cut the over hang off, but i found a solution to that problem, just use a flame to melt the cut bit, and it balls neatly and is no longer sharp and pointy. (EDIT; They're/there/their. lol)
