I can get hold of some white poppy seeds but the supplier has no idea which variety they are. how many white varieties could there be, and would these one be as desirable as the persian whites?

yeah, I wondered if I'd over cooked it. I am getting a supply of dried chopped tuber. are you suggesting that 10g of it should be enough for noticable effects? my chinese herbalist says 5-10 grams is the recommended medicinal dosage which is why I shot a little higher. I'll try it again with a coffe plunger and see how it goes. on the He Ye front: I have tried steeping a couple of grams (three cup plunger - full of leaf) for 20 mins with a small but noticable sedation and relaxation. but a couple of nights ago I had excellent results with about the same amount soaked in rum for a few hours. I started drinking rum and cokes on an empty stomach before going out and by half way thru the third drink people started asking what I was on. It seemed to have different effects when combined with alcohol. I was babbling, felt very excited and confident and was moving around like I had just had a big line of coke. I switched to beer for a couple of drinks and found I had lost almost all the effects but after antoher rum it was all on again. in both cases the effects were very short term (10-20mins). or perhaps this was just because of the relatively small dosage available in the leaves. you'll be pleased to learn I did however notice some opiate like constipation which can only be a good sign.

oh, and ditto He Ye (lotos leaf). tried about half a gram of dry leaf steeped in hot water 10mins. maybe short term sedation, maybe not anyone?

recently bought some Corydalis (yan hu suo) from my friendly chinese herbalist and tried it out. In the absence of any info on dosage, I boiled up about 75g of dried tuber for a couple of hours. I drank half and reduced the rest down to a tarball which I later swallowed. If anything happened, it was slight. are others getting results from this stuff and if so, how? and what dosage?
