eh? I always leave these ones in the ground, thinking them a lookalike based on the spore colour and ridging on the cap. Are these active?

  2. I'm not really a GaGa fan, but man, I really dug that clip.... although, I had to really force myself to see the Illuminati stuff. The Tupac tune was a bit more obvious with it's lyrics.

The GaGa tune. I'm sticking to the idea that it's about her not wanting her boyfriend hassling her when she's out having fun. Sorry.

  3. what kind of lime can you use? are we talking agricultural lime, builders lime?

I get lime paste from my local Indonesian supermarket, although it is actually a Thai product. Comes in a little plastic bag shoved in a tub and costs about $1.50. Try your local Asian store.

  4. Very nice collection!! What's that furry hand-like graft in the second-last cactus pictured (there were three shots of it)?

On a different note, I'm always amazed at how intelligently cacti design their armor. I wish I could be a plant for a day and get a true understanding of plant consciousness (although after reading your "Warning on Subs" posts, I wouldn't be surprised if you have some arguments against the idea of plant consciousness (he he)).

  5. check out ... allegro non troppo ,the italian fantasia....."

Now... THIS was my absolute favourite movie as a kid, alongside "Yellow Submarine". My old man used to let us watch one of these flicks on special occasions. Um... in hindsight, I guess I was kind of destined to become a psychonaught. I was a massive Beatles fan in primary school and knew I wanted to be like John Lennon and try LSD someday. In fact, my wishful thinking was that I was Lennon re-incarnated. Pretty disappointed when I realized I was born a few years before he got shot.

As for Allegro, I don't know which is the best segment... Afternoon of the Fawn or the Bollero? Man, just thinking about it I want to watch it again. Thanks for the reminder TST. Anyone who hasn't seen it, check the foreign film section of your video store to see if they've got it.

  6. UP was full on. I think it's the first movie I've ever seen in my life where I cried in the first ten minutes. Man... these aren't kid's movies anymore. Wall-E was excellent as well.

  7. Closed systems really need to have a circulating fan installed or you will get bad fungal problems.

So... am I making a mistake by giving my viridis bottom heat and putting a plant protector over the pot? Without spending a fortune on lights, what's my best course of action?

  8. FINALLY I spotted two today!

I'm jealous!! I went out photographing fungus yesterday at a few of my hot spots in Melb's outer east and came across lots of look-a-likes but no real cigars. I reckon it's about a week away for me.

What general area were you walking Mt.B?

  9. I've just been out today thinking of a way to keep my viridis happy over winter. My plan was to come back home tonight and search the forums for info (I did do a search, link to most useful topic here( http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=23766&view=&hl=viridis%20winter&fromsearch=1 )... but since you've posted this, Tripsis, I'll piggy-back on your post (hope you don't mind).

I've currently got the pot sitting under a humidity dome and, underneath the pot, a heat pad set to 25 degrees.

Can anyone offer a better (and not over-the-top) way to do this? I'd like to avoid a full-on lights set-up because my wife would not be impressed with me spending that sort of money on keeping a pot-plant alive.

  10. Personally, I find that I have my best recall and most interesting dreams when I'm totally sober and with no alarm to wake me in the morning. Stay off the booze and cigarettes and organize a day off from work the following day and give that a try.

I've used Calea a bit in the past and found that although I remembered the dreams clearly, they were not particularly pleasant. For instance, one I remember clearly was being in a workshop full of strange machines and a pit full of faecal material (to which I was adding). Yeah, dreaming of scat is probably something I could do without. It was interesting to experiment, but after a few times dreaming with Calea I decided it wasn't making my dreams any more amazing than usual and, as mentioned already in this string, the sleep was quite disturbed.

One other suggestion... whenever I make my wife a Damiana tea before bed, she has strong dreams that night (she normally has very little recall of her dreams). You could give that a try (Damiana tea is delicious anyway).

  11. Was having a laugh, but am reconsidering my flippancy if people want to buy water from me. ;)

Yeah, thought you might be... well, I guess we'll be treading un-treaded ground. Not 100% sure I buy the whole Homeopathy thing, but my mate is a fervent believer and I'm curious to see how an Ayahuasca remedy would go down in Homeopathy circles.

If there's anything interesting to report, I'll post.

  12. Hey Morg,

Not sure if you're having a laugh or if you're serious, but I have a friend who practices homeopathy and we were talking about making some remedies from some of the brews I like to cook up and having a go at proving them... can you share some info about what work you've done? (unless you're having a laugh, in which case... umm... he he he he <nervous laugh to try and fit in>). Feel free to PM or post.

  13. Thanks Interbeing, I'll check out Destiny of Souls.

Thanks Hamma too, I guess.... that was a pretty full on reply. I try to not take things quite so seriously, but I dig what you're saying.

Something that I've learnt is that there's only one thing I know for sure... and that's that I don't know shit! I do, however, enjoy pondering various possible truths. Do we reincarnate? Do we just end up rotting in a hole in the ground? Am I an alien playing a super-realistic virtual reality video game and, if so..... why did I choose this character??? I could have been a dwarven warrior goddamnit!!

  14. Has anyone here heard about this? In a nutshell, there is a hypnotherapist called Michael Newton who was working with past life regressions and somehow stumbled upon the ability to regress people to a point in their previous life at the moment of death. The case studies then described to him the experience of what happened after death.

Anyway, the reason I'm posting on this forum is that when I read the book "Journey of Souls", which is his collection of case studies, I couldn't help but feel that I've been to this place that was being described.

Said another way, the experience described sounds very much like an Aya experience (of which I've read) :innocent_n:

    Anyone else read about this?
