Electric bicycle vs motorised bicycle.

Probably not much help but I saw this when I was in Japan earlier in the year and I've wanted one ever since. Not really sure how it works, cos it's all in Japanese, but man it looks cool. -

Techno Experiment...
Rabaelthazar replied to Slybacon's topic in Creativity, Spirituality & Philosophy
Perfect tempo for clearing your mind after too long in the main room. Lots of space to reflect on the intense experiences you've had dancing to full on doof. To be fair, I haven't been to a doof in nearly ten years, but listening to this conjured up memories of a small dark room scattered with other people who "knew", leaving behind the searchers in the other room. Nice track, man. -

Please ID this flower
Rabaelthazar replied to Rabaelthazar's question in Plant Identification (non-cactus)
Thank you, kind sir. -
Hi guys, Could someone please tell me what this is? It was in our garden when we bought our house and I've never known. The flowers are really interesting, IMO, mainly because of the way the stamen sort of "kink". Not an ethno, unfortunately, but a plant I love nonetheless. I haven't seen many around Melbourne, but I was up in Brisbane last week and saw lots and lots of these growing in peoples' front yards. ID appreciated. Thanks

t s t posted this in another thread, in case you didn't see it. Why not try having a smoke? If you're not comfortable with the idea, get one of the local high-school kids to try it first.

Howdy Fungus. Welcome. What part of Europe, if you don't mind me asking?

SWIPMBFASWSI has picked a decent number of subs over the past few weeks and last night when I, oh, I mean he went to check out the batch furthest along in the drying process, he found a little maggoty thing living where the stem meets the cap. Upon closer inspection, he found that there were a few dwelling in there. Ewww. Anyhoo, he went through the whole lot opening the stems and inspecting each and every sub in that batch and found about 10% of them had these maggoty things in them. Not being at all a fan of little white grubs, he discarded the spoilt ones and kept the ones that he'd verified as grub free. Tonight, he went and had another look and in one of his "verified" ones, lo and behold!!! a maggoty thing. I'm assuming that some insect laid its eggs in the sub while it was still fresh and now, a week later, the eggs are hatching. Has anyone come across these before and what have you done? More importantly, do you think the maggots are tripping balls? I don't want to discard anything I don't need to. Is there a way to: a ) treat the subs after collection to stop eggs from hatching? b ) id infested shrooms before collecting? Alternatively, would you just consume, maggot and all, kinda like a tequila worm?

I (know a guy who) can attest to the fact that 35deg has had no effect on the potency of mushrooms dried in a food dehydrator. Either that or he experienced on helluva bejeesus of a placebo effect.

I think I know what you're talking about and I wouldn't consume them myself. Is it almost as if the mushrooms have gone from firm, to flaky to partially disintegrated? Do the intact shrooms feel much lighter than you'd expect? I've (known someone who has) had this happen in the past and these days, as a precaution, keep shrooms divvied up into many bags with just a small handful in each, in case a bag goes bad you've only lost a few. Earlier this year, I found some infested shrooms (see link) http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=24504&view=&hl=maggoty&fromsearch=1 and my feeling is it was the presence of these fungus gnats that have turned bags of shrooms to powder. I've invested now in a food dehydtrator and it's the best 50 bucks I've ever spent. Also, on a side note, for natural desiccant purposes, a small cloth bag filled with rice (uncooked, of course) does the same job at drawing the moisture out of the bag.

Dried Dorset Naga Chilli & Lemon Grass products
Rabaelthazar replied to toast's topic in Seed & Plant Swaps
All I can say is Jesus Christ! Toast, thanks a lot for these chilies. I thought I'd better give a quick review of this amazing ethnobotanical. I'm a chili kinda guy, Thai wife, chili in some form or other pretty much everyday, enjoy eating chili dip which is essentially just mashed whole green chilies with a little bit of onion and a splash of fish sauce. Spicy stuff. Anyway, my wife made a noodle dish tonight which I normally put on about 2 teaspoons of crushed dried chilies together with a little vinegar that's had fresh chilies swimming in it. Tonight I thought I'd try out Toast's Dorset Naga Chili and to be safe added just under a teaspoon of the powder + the vinegar. Before mixing it all in, I thought I'd see what this chili is all about and selected one noodle that had a decent sprinkling on it. Into the mouth went the noodle... instant hiccups. I hiccup when I am confronted with extreme chili that I haven't prepared for but it normally doesn't occur until at least three mouthfuls into the meal. This is strong stuff. Rested for a minute until the hiccups went and then continued with the meal, now knowing a little more about my opponent. Spiciness aside, these chilies have a really nice, earthy kinda flavour about them. The noodle my wife makes are good every time (love ya darling), but tonight they were really something special. I ate the meal with endorphins rushing the entire time and perspiration thick on my brow. Had to take a couple of breaks to give my mouth a break. These chilies are amazing!!! If you're not used to really spicy food, then they will probably be overwhelming, but if you're into it, then message Toast to see if he's got any left. These guys have a truly wonderful flavour. I gotta say, I'm not looking forward to going to the toilet tomorrow though. Thanks again Toast, can't wait to get some growing myself.
