I got prescribed cigarettes by a naturopath once. The same naturopath prescribed me (or at least got me one from his secret drawer) what he called an "opium" tablet. Not sure what it was, but it was pretty nice. I also got told to not wear hair gel, all for a funny on-going pain in my leg. What can I say....? The pain that had been there for months dissipated within a week. No referrals, sorry.

Drug addict paid to have vasectomy

Hmmm... there's two sides to this. There's a lot of people on this thread ripping into the idea proposed... if it were compulsory, then it would be shocking, but... I find it really sad to see a couple scoring gear on the streets pushing a pram, and can't help wondering whether this kid will grow up happy or miserable. I'm sure most junkie pregnancies are not planned and when the drug is going to be given more attention than the baby, then that's really sad. Not to say that this kid doesn't have a chance to grow up and live a happy, healthy life, but.... I dunno. I've got a young kid and another on the way. I can see first hand how much environment affects children. I've been through addiction in the past and I'm almost crying now imagining what my child would have been like had he been born ten years ago, had I not found the strength to lose my habit, and to change the way I was living. I've got a close friend who conceived a child while in an fast/slow dependancy with a girl living the same lifestyle. Their kid's now 3yo, beautiful, but broken already. She cleaned up, he didn't. The kid has a junkie (trying to get clean unsuccessfully for a long time) for a father and there's so much heartbreak there. I used to do some volunteer work at a primary school in an area where a lot of the parents were substance abusers and some of those kids were just shadows. Having said that, a part of me believes that each child is born into the life they choose for a reason, so if the lesson they need to learn from life involves coming from a troubled home, so be it. I respect the motivations behind this program, as I'm sure a lot of heavy drug-addicts wouldn't consider or afford (semi) permanent contraception, so it's good to have the offer and incentive there. As Bread Filter mentioned, vasectomies are reversible (clips, not cuts these days) so I'm all for it from what I've read in the OP.

    Refusing to answer police questioning

Ref1ections, I normally try to stay neutral on this forum, but I have to speak up and say that I think you're giving really bad advice. I'm not contradicting your viewpoint. I respect those people knowledgeable enough to stand up for their rights as a freeman of the land. My knowledge of common law and acting as a freeman is limited. You have clearly done more research than I have. However, going the freeman route with police without a comprehensive knowledge of your rights, and a complete understanding of the correct wording to use/avoid is a recipe for disaster. Each of your posts in this thread suggest that it is very easy for anybody to refuse to acknowledge commercial law and get away with it. There was a video in the "Freeman of the land" thread of a man obviously trained in law arguing common law in court. I'd suggest that anyone thinking of using common law as their reason for refusing to cooperate with police watch this video and listen to the language this gentleman uses, especially in response to questions from the judge and police, and ask yourself whether you'd have the mental resources to be able to tackle any situation thrown at you without slipping up. I'm not saying you couldn't do it, Ref1ections, as I don't know you personally. Just please try to be careful offering legal advice to people without disclaimers. I'd hate to see Distracted spend a night in the lock-up after pissing the police off by telling them to fuck off. . . . Distracted, as far as avoiding conversations with police due to just not feeling sociable.... that's a tough one. Personally, I feel the more cooperative you can be the sooner they'll let you go on your way. If you've done nothing wrong, the truth shall set you free. Good luck with it.

Put one on the ground and watch from directly above as it pops up, oh what fun, but oh what a black eye. I think the reason they were taken off the market.

I just wonder how as an IV coke user he managed to solve crimes, as opposed to just lubing up and masturbating for hours on end.

    Refusing to answer police questioning

If a cop's got a quota to fill and happens to be an asshole, it doesn't really matter what you do, he'll still stick it up you. The freeman spiel will piss him off and the defensive line will make you appear more suspicious. If you've done nothing wrong and you are polite and cooperative with the police, you'd have to have pretty bad luck to get nicked. Most cops are not assholes, they're just people doing a job. Same as most people you pass in a dark alley are not muggers, even though that's probably your initial thought. Think the best of people and most of the time you'll turn out to be right.

Sorry about your friend's funeral, though I'm glad you got a laugh out of that vid. I could watch it on loop for hours, I think, and never cease to be amused. Beautiful song you posted, by the way.

Erk... Ref1ect1ons, sorry but that River Flows tune grates something shocking!!! I spent a number of years working in a piano shop and that tune was the second-most butchered piece, losing the title only to Fur Elise. Now here's some serious piano http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LKuEJBKRW4M But, as you said, music is a fine inebriant. We all have our poison of choice and if River Flows hits the spot for you, that's all that's important. I just can't listen to it without pulling my hair out!!!
  18. I don't think any members here really do much extraction work, predominantly for the reason that doing so is illegal in Australia.

No, that wasn't my quote. I actually used to have a massive phobia of slugs, which started when I was about 6 and it wasn't until I saw this scene from this program when it first came on t.v. that I actually overcame my phobia. Thank you, Sir David. I know a slug phobia sounds pretty silly, but anyone who has had a phobia will know what the fear is like, even though your rational mind can explain it away. Anyway, whoops about the link... here's the frog video. Now please, if you're likely to be offended, don't watch. If you do watch and you laugh, don't beat yourself up about it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTahd2Izioc&feature=related

    Life between Lives

Ha ha... sometimes it can take me months to read a book too. It's not always easy to find the time and, as you say, sometimes I have a non-fiction book on the go and read three or four novels between starting the non-fiction and finishing it. I didn't post about it yet, but I had a past life regression a few weeks ago as a precursor to an LBL session which I plan to do in a month or two. It was very emotionally intense, and not at all what I expected it to be like. I'm usually a very visual/auditory person, but this experience was almost entirely kinesthetic. The hypnotherapist made no suggestions in terms of detail, only suggesting that I travel backwards in my memories. She took me back to my memories of being a small child, then to being in my mother's womb, then back to a time earlier than that. I am an eternal sceptic, so I'm not wholly convinced that what I experienced was a previous life. There's a possibility that I created a situation in my mind of being somebody other than who I am in this life. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter to me. I like to keep an open mind. The experience I had was really insightful and highlighted some trends in my personality that I can work on improving. It's really hard to describe the experience, but I'd recommend it for anybody who is curious. I cried a lot during the regression and I've come out of it with a greater love for my family and a better understanding of myself. I couldn't have asked for more. I'll let you know how the LBL session goes when I decide to take that next step. <to Moogy> Sorry, I somehow missed your addition to this thread. Too bad the regression didn't work for you. Feel free to PM me if you want the contact details for the hypnotherapist I saw. She seemed very intuitive and spent time talking to me on the phone before accepting my appointment just to make a judgement about whether the session would be successful for me. If you're still interested, it might be worth giving her a call.

    Opiate-based meds

Teotz, I think that's a really irresponsible suggestion without qualifying further. Ibogaine therapy isn't risk free by any means. Breaking an opiate habit is a complex and delicate issue and Ibogaine treatment, IMO, should wait until some other attempts have been made. Toast, have you talked to your doctor about slowly reducing the dose? Eventually you'll need to make the final break but you might find it easier breaking from a lower dose. Should reduce the severity of withdrawals. Another way is to just do it. Organise a week off from work, designate a day and throw away your scripts and meds. Have someone with you that you trust to talk you out of going back to the doc and just force yourself to push through. This obviously takes a lot of strength and you'll have to be prepared to feel shit for a few days. As far as herbs go, and as far as I'm concerned, there's not any magic way to avoid withdrawals (he he, maybe ibogaine) so just try and keep well fed if you can and herbal teas to settle your stomach. Best of luck. Keen to see if anyone has any better herbal advice.
