^^^ I always found Ren & Stimpy difficult to watch. I dig it, but it's just got so many queasy moments. That clip was awesome, although it did make my navel tingle in an unpleasant way. And now for something completely different

Vics soon to loose their bongs

Not to mention the damage this will cause to the greater community. The average household will lose 2 feet from the length of their front garden hose each calendar year. Within a decade, the average citizen will be unable to water the roses at their fence line, leading to unsightly, shrivelled bushes which will in turn push down the median house prices. Banks will begin to foreclose on mortgage holders whose properties are no longer valuable enough to be considered security for their loans. Thousands of evicted mortgage holders will begin to roam the streets of Melbourne, attacking and eating the brains of honest, wealthy citizens and the fear generated will be used as an excuse to create a military government to impose sundown curfews and exterminate any citizens displaying suspicious behaviour, such as smiling and making eye contact. . . . all because the sale of bongs was prohibited in 2012.

Vics soon to loose their bongs

Needle exchanges provide harm minimisation for intravenous drug users. Here is a link to the City of Melbourne's website, where it is states: and People aren't going to stop smoking pot... this "initiative" is simply going to force people into making a bong as per Wooddragon's instructions. I'm not sure of the scientific explanation, but from experience of smoking out of both glass/ceramic bongs (in the past) and also out of home-made gatorade bongs, I know which one feels like its doing more harm to the body. Bad, backwards news!!!

    Sudoku addiction

I love puzzles. Sudoku is great although once you've done several thousand of them it starts to get a bit stale, as with anything. Some other great puzzles along the same lines are Kakuro and just those good old logic puzzles with the grids and a few clues... uh... these ones. Kenken is awesome as well and, if you have an i-somthing or other, it's available as a great toilet app. When I first downloaded Kenken, I had to pretend I had severe gastric problems because each day at work, I'd head to the bog and not emerge for 45 minutes. Super addictive.

Careful what you wish for... we might learn a little from these guys. Some awesome responses... I'm assuming the Elizabeth Shue thing is a reference to Back to the Future? <edit> cos somehow I linked the completely wrong vid!?!

LOL @ Marcel. That's the episode that sticks with me too, together with the one where Shane took acid and jumped off a bridge.

    I wish I had a time machine...

I'd also love to go back to 1695 with an ipod and portable speakers and play a young Johann Sebastian Bach music that he composed toward the end of his life, just to confuse the space time continuum. Then for kicks, lay a little psytrance on him. The only downside to that trip is that I don;t imagine the girls of 1695 would smell that great and would probably take a fair amount of courting before I could get a glimpse of an ankle. Even if I invested the time, at the point when we got back to her parlour, I don't think I'd be able to figure out the corset. Then her father would challenge me to a duel, I'd win due to the knowledge I've acquired from watching Jackie Chan movies and then who knows how much the butterfly effect would come in to play? Gotta be careful with this time travel stuff.

    What zodiac sign are you?

In case anyone is interested in looking deeper into their astrological profile, check out this site: http://www.astro.com/ I'm pretty sure you can log in as a guest. You'll need to enter the date, the time and the place you were born and the site will automatically generate a birth chart for you (which may seem meaningless if you're not familiar with the symbols used) but it's interesting to look at the free sample of the "psychological profile" (the full version is a bit exxy) which you can click onto from the first page of the quick links at top of the page. As it's automatically generated, you get pros and cons - pros being no projection/misinterpretation from a human reading a chart. Con is it's still blocks of text, so we're working with generalisations but the generalisations are based on quite specific placements of all the planets in your chart. Much more personalised than lumping you in with every other person born at the same time of year as you. I had a look at the samples for me, my wife and my two kids (there's a separate thing for children) and it was quite creepy how accurate it seems. Certainly not 100% spot on, but pretty interesting. I'd be curious to see how it came across to the extreme non-believers, but I have my doubts that any of you in that category would even click the link. Anyway, have fun.

Why is there only one human species?

I haven't had a chance to read the full article, but with a three hour plane trip later this week I reckon it could be perfect timing. Had a skim through a few of the sections.... seems very well written and coming from a logical and well researched angle. My initial thought when I started reading was that the author was going to be a crackpot, but delving a little deeper has made me curious. Human evolution is one of my favourite topics to ponder... so many theories... really, who knows? Shall comment further once I've read the whole thing. Cheers for the link, Botanika.

    Upcoming Movies/TV Shows/Games etc.

I was a massive TinTin fan as a kid... that trailer looks pretty faithful to the original books. Definitely gonna have that one on my list. In terms of games, this is the one I'm most looking forward to, although its release date keeps getting pushed back. From eh creators of Shadow of the Colossus. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHzHoMT5eRg As far as ones almost here, this is going to be excellent, based on the previous games:

    Dr Suess rocks

Man, I gotta say one of the best things about having kids is rediscovering things like Dr Suess. I think Dr Suess has probably had a bigger influence on my psyche than I've ever realised... I haven't really thought about it until now, but the way I draw and the way I rhyme have probably both taken some direction from latent memories of things like "The Sleep Book" and "One Fish, Two Fish" I've been really getting off on Fox in Socks recently and thought I'd share this interpretation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQnMd0eQvHg

    Dr Suess rocks

Glad others are digging it too. Really interesting to hear that, but I guess not surprising. I had trouble finding an Dr Suess at the shop where I bought mine from... browsed around the kids section for a few minutes and eventually had to ask the guy working. Turns out the reason I couldn't find it was because there was a dedicated Dr Suess section with all the books stored with spines facing out. I can't remember the Lorax, but a few people have mentioned it to me so I reckon this might be the next on the list. Yeah, I've read this before. Very nice.

How Many People Should the Earth Support?

Glad I took the time to read that. It's pretty hefty, so if you haven't got the time at least skim down to the bottom and have a look at the comparison chart. That section on food limitations was some scary shit.

    Some new music - Miilk

I really dig all three pieces. To be honest, more so than the stuff you posted a couple of weeks ago. The vocals on Brave were a really nice touch. I've left some comments on your page.

  25. Hi guys, After 6 months of dealing with new baby stuff, I've finally found a little bit of time on my hands and so I've set myself a project to actually finish up a few of the many hundred unfinished tunes on my computer. I've just created a Sound Cloud account and uploaded about 20 tracks that I kinda dig. I haven't touched the DAW in a half year, so it was interesting to listen with fresh ears. Some of what I thought were decent at the time have turned out to be absolutely bog. Anyway, I'd really appreciate some feedback on some of the tracks. Here are links to a few.... if you like, there's plenty more on the Sound Cloud account. Most of the tunes are in various states of disrepair - either the vocal is a first take with no editing, or I've just used a single drum pattern the whole way through with no variation - you get the idea. Some are more complete than others. None have been properly mixed/mastered. Basically, I'm hoping for some honest feedback on which tracks you think could be developed into something worthwhile. Cheers - here are the links (this one's an oldie, circa 2000) Thanks guys, for any feedback.
