  2. but was the pot totally submerged in the bucket of water?

if one, submerges the pot, over the rim with water the ants will die after even one day or less.

sometimes they crawl up the stem of the plant to survive, so inspect this process closely, to make sure there are no survivors.

good thing is, a psychotria doesn't mind, some very wet feet, for some day's.

drowning the ants works, but finding big buckets/containers, could be an issue.

  3. if I were you I would try to find the ants, which put the scale onto the plants.

any treatment, is useless unless, you cut off the ants going to this plant.

cut off the ants, and than treat with white oil, than rinse off, oil with water.

repeat after a few day's, than use pyrethrum, and rinse after five minutes.

many pests, display life forms, which can't be killed (by above measures), like in egg form, that's why you have to respray after a few day's.

organic approach, you still have to get rid of the ants, and I am 85 % sure they hide, to a large degree, in the potting mix of the plant effected.

so take the plant out of the pot, and look for ant nests.

  4. I don't do johnny cash (sorry), because of two reasons, I am not good covering c&w and on top, cash sings in a style, which is, not my kind of thing (or say, I can't do it, if you like).

don't get me wrong I love j. cash and sometimes I play "fulsome", but I hardly sing it.

I sometimes play with a male musical partner, which hardly uses his vocals, when we play for hours, but he and not me sings the fulsome prison blues.

I like "hurt" and "walk the line".

bob Dylan, I hardly play either, sorry.

    please keep the recomandations going,

I like disco, but like a lot of music, it's hard to compete with synthesizers, and computer keyboards, if all you do is, to play an acoustic, hehehe. :)

  5. in the old day's, they had planes (even faster ones, i never flew a concord though)!

and, when you air travelled, they treated you like, they still do, in a good hotel, but now it's not about service at all, but all about, cutting costs.

having a reefer, on the air plane toilet, and travelling with a guitar, those air hostess's must have thought I am a rock star (receiving a smile of approval, upon leaving the toilet, from the hostess!).

anyway, no more air hostess, only air stewardess, that say's it all.

  6. if, you grow hemp, you could shape the plant into a V shape, and partition, the two sides off, so no light goes through.

now, you give one side vegging light and the other one, flowering light.

once you headed, the flowers, you let the side which has just flowered, go into the vegging side of the artificial light chambers. after a while, you swap around again, after claiming the prize. :)

this idea is probably not very practical (apart from fertilizer, pest control issues, and technical issues), but this experiment shows, that plant cells think, individually, and not central controlled.

I hope you find this idea interesting, as it might suit small scale grow your own people, naturally, only where legal to do so. :)

in short, I am talking about a plant which is always ready do, produce head!!

  7. not too long I watched a program, and the design of the building, incorporated collecting all the urine, as they said, the world is running out of phosphate.

at the time around napoleon, there were laws in place, saying you had to give your urine to the king, which his chemist needed for war fare.

phosphor was discovered, by extracting urine...

I fert with urine, we all should.

  8. As someone who experiences significantly higher levels of social anxiety than your average Joe, I hate even the idea of this discussion lol

It's like the awkwardness of trying to navigate the situation in real life, without even being forced into it. Very masochistic...

As someone who also has a lot of social anxiety I agree, it is just another thing to have to worry about but at the same time, it is what it is, there is no point pretending it isnt going on.

As a male who is not considered an Alpha most of the time, in fact Im probably considered a slightly effeminate Beta or Omega by most inflated 'alpha' types.

As a result I get challenged with this kind of stuff quite regularly, both growing up and as an adult so I feel it is only going to make it worse and doors are going to close on me if I pretend not to notice it or let them play their games with me.

As an emotionally sensitive, introverted and socially anxious type I suffer a lot in our society, feeling a little handicapped at times but like a lot of people in my shoes I have another skill/s in its place, that being sensitivity and empathy.

I/we am much more sensitive to peoples body language and energy than most, so why not use that to an advantage like in.the handshake scenario?

Having increased sensitivity and empathy can really bring you pain and discomfort in this very selfish, egotistical world but it can also be used to your benefit.

Words are cheap, most people are always playing social and cultural games and projecting false images of them selfs, but body language rarely lies and that is what I look for.

Like when working with animals, body language presents more of a conversation than words ever will.

note to me selfe, if those posters win the tour the france, no kissing.

  9. withdrawal from kratom is nothing to be concerned about....its like quitting drinking coffee

and would you say the same, if you would be using kratom since say 15 years?

    hmm, I guess not!

kratom is good for once in a while recreational use, or for helping overcome, opiate withdraw, and this means short term usage.

I agree that solvent and water extractions, might leave behind some very good actives. a very good point, which has been raised...

a tea spoon full of powdered leaves, is a good standard dose, however people with a tolerance to opiods, need far higher doses.

kratom has synergies with some halucigenics.

kratom can make you a bit cosy/sleepy, but when needed gives you energy, sort of, if you rest, it makes you sleepy, but if you are active, it makes you more active. it's possible to go from one phase to the other, repeatedly.

chewing the leaves is a popular method of ingestion as well, but fresh leaves are too, vibrant for me.

anyway, using kratom only once in a while, is the way to go.

  10. nice, song jwerta, love the vocals a lot, you are a very good singer, and your singing voice has a good solid and individual relationship/affinity with all of the chords you use.

your guitar handling is very good as well.

I am building a 2nd didgeridoo stand atm, anyway I think I could play the dige to your song.

sorry to say, too much pot & grog, in my life currently, hehehe, and this can affect creativity negatively.

but, I play the didgeridoo, do the vocals, and the guitar, everyday.

  11. another, inappropriate thing with handshakes we saw with john howard, when he jerked his political opponents arm, towards himself.

maybe this won him the election, sad...

the answer, to the howard trick, is to not give way, if someone wants to pull the hand towards themselves, than just stand your ground. just extend the hand more, and make sure you have a good foot stance (right foot in front of left).

a dead fish hand, say you know, this person has not washed in weeks, is the worst. particularly bad if you, shake this persons hand, during a good by, and you have to wait till you come home to wash your hands.

but, as mentioned the very worst, are people who scratch, ass, sack or cock, when they see you, or even try to shake hands afterwards...

believe it or not, bum slapping (in a kind way) was tolerated when I was a teen??!!!

now you can't slap bum, full stop.

  12. don't use alu foil unless you have to (like first time around).

use panda plastic instead, as everything needs to withstand, serious cleaning operations.

your probagation area needs, to support, "easy cleaning operations"

clean space without bug or pests, is paramount, alu foil can't be cleaned...

white surface is better than alu foil, in short.

aluminium is as well a small conductor, and you don't want this, if a current is around.

after all it's a wet space, and electricity and moisture don't mix either.

  13. Out here it's the standard that you give a form handshake and look the other man in the eye.. Took a bit of getting back used to after living in the northern rivers where that practice seemed almost offensive. Here I also shake ladies hands, but much more gently and maintain a more enter eye contact.

I never felt comfortable with the man hug unless

It was someone that I knew well and had that much affection for, for me it felt a little fake and yuk. Same went for the ladies, that's just tooo close for me u less I genuinely have that affection.

I can't do the homey handshake that's just wack.

I was raised to shake hands like "a man" lol and I do respect a guy that ties a firm handshake and looks me in the eye. The culture I was raised in I guess.

very good point regarding, eye contact, jono.

I can do homey shakes, and in this case, quickly reduce your "hand strength".

Never dont the hand kiss thing but always give a peck on the cheek to lady friends as a greeting and on departure. Ill kiss my dad on the cheek goodbye to be a smartarse and watch the reaction :)

jep, the cheek kiss, is what rules, a lesser version is the hand kiss.

but it's far easier to increase, reciprocal affection, by hand kissing, think's me, think...

  14. I used to work as a trades man, and are appreciative of a good hand shake, which seals a deal, or let's say verbal contract.

a good hand shake has to be firm, and if the other person, clinches harder, than expected, you quickly increase your, in put of "hand shake force" as well, or even, go 10% stronger.

this is a cultural topic, in a sence as, those social etiquettes vary, all over the globe.

Australians, are not realy good hand shakers, and don't shake as often as, many people from Europe.

I like the, "black hand shake", the most, a mixture of, knuckle hitting fist, low 5, received and given, than some sort of palm clap and snapping, and involves as well a normal hand shake... I struggle explaining it... it's a hand shake which, makes you feel, strong and empowered and part of the mob.

in Europe, in an established circle of people and friends, often a man kisses a woman, when introduced, to her in public for the 1st time, believe it or not.

anyway, I try to say, that apart from when eyes meet for the first time, the first hand shake, or hand kiss, or hug, can be, very important.

bring back the hand kiss!

    whats your secret charismatic charm?
