lagochilus inebrians fake versus real seeds

it's bigger now, any idea what it is? there is practicly no smell, when you crush a leaf (the real lago is highly aromatic). seems to have a growth habit, were all the leaves arise from one single point, like say comfrey. thought for a while it could be, dracocephalum moldavica, but doesn't seem to be.
  2. hi! I have grown and germinated the real lagochilus befor, and I have heard of fake/wrong lago seeds being sold aswell, in the past. yesterday, I stumbled onto those fake lago seeds, for the first time, and I think they were sourced from shamanic plants. I think we have discussed this topic before and some members even knew what the fake lago seeds real name was, but I don't remember names well... anyway, fake lago seeds on the left, real Turkistan mint on the right: I assume this is not a malicious mistake by the vendor, but rather that, those seeds got collected in the wild, in the same area as lago grows, and that those plants might be regarded by the local collectors, pretty much the same thing as the real lago. real lago flower: http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/index.php?app=galleryℑ=314

Spring 2013 Cactus Buds & Flowers

sp, I agree, the trick is to check what is in the wool, I often find heaps of lophophora seeds this way as well. I have asked people for seeds, at times, spotting a nice loph, and they answered, I got none, but searching in the wool I found a few. I will keep a much closer look on my arios from now onwards. having had an inspection, just minutes ago, I noticed as well, a troupe of ants running up and down the plant, an so it's possible, that they snatched the seed coat and the seeds in the past (I have observed ants carrying loph seeds away, quite comical to watch, they love them the same as us, hehehe).
  4. I am a firm believer that, once you understand, "what it is called" that bugs you, the issue, is not as bad anymore. ocd, is extremely easy to self diagnose, so that person who thinks a thousand times a day, of having sex, with his sister, will not be able to stop those thoughts, from one moment to the other, but he can say, to himself, this is only happening because, I got ocd, and not because, I want to have sex a thousand times a day, with the sister. further more, I doubt the person really want's to do this. obsessive compulsions, often build themselves around, things you in reality don't want to do. it's a trickster of the mind, for example, like many people, if I am somewhere located where, a fall or a slip could end my life, the mind screams, jump you idiot, do it, jump, jump... or the woman that walks on the pier, and her compulsion screams, repeatedly, throw your handbag, in the water, throw your handbag in the water. and this only happens because in reality, the worst that could happen to this woman is, to accidently, lose the handbag, by falling into the water. I hope this helps many of you, and yes, I got ocd as well, hehehe.
  5. normopathy sounds like a terrible thing, it's a feature in borderline, me thinks. it will take me, months of repetition to learn those new words... sublimination, is cool, I do it all the time. is there a term for, when traumatic events, give you artistic inspiration?

syria gas attack, who u think it was?

those images of people of all ages on the floor traumatised me a bit. I think often, every day, has this girl survived? not that I don't care for the others, but she became a symbol of this horrific act for me.

jox, I am so terrible when it comes to labels..., so I can't say. but, now I am better with labels. small side track, I think I noticed, that ario & co seeds, don't appear in a fruit, like loph seeds, but that you notice them, first when they are already sprinkled all over the plant?! maybe, what I saw were not seeds, I never had a closer look. in short, how are ario & co seeds produced?

the online catch up TV thread

I liked it how they mentioned Erasmus Darwin, the grand dad of Charles, because often, the success of a person has it's roots, with the grandparents, and not just mom and dad. grandparents, posess more wisdom and time, than the parents, who have to work all day, so they can provide.

compulsive circumcision, as you have/had it in the usa, took hold as well for a while in Australia. I knew a few ozzie men, who were circumcised, but it never got done as much as in the states. I know this because I used to play sports, and have had communal showers... my ex, preferred dating north American men, just because of this fact, so for some of you, it must have had it's benefits, hehehe.

coalition to implement opt-out porn filter

and what's the next idea of tony? compulsive church marriage, were you have to file papers, to opt out? i am convinced, that some filters have been already installed, without that the users, ever have been told, i mean in the old day's of the net, if you clicked, "rough" you got at times, a re direction, with the content of abusive sex, including bruises and blood, and as well, if you liked "small tits", you got at time re directed to illegal sites. i think it's a good idea, that those two subject matters (and snuff movies), ought to be censored out. btw, did you know, some of that stuff is legal, in some countries, for example japan!!! but non lewd, real art (sculpture for example), needs to be ok. oz is a country where, art which is found to be ok, in let's say Europa, is met with hostility though.

we can learn a lot from avo cultivation, which we can use as well for all the other fuzzy plants! regarding the planting out, let's hear more. a mound is sure good, it facilitates watering during drought conditions, and maybe reduces water uptake around the tree, when it rains too much. if i plant out an avo, i dig the hole only very slightly bigger, than the root ball, because of what i noticed, in a garden of a friend. this friend was in a manic state, and wanted to do a really good job, digging the hole... he though, the bigger the hole, the more i loosen up the soil, and the more, friable material i add, the better for the avo tree. but once they rains arrived, the modified soil, around the tree, turned hydrophilic, whilst the undisturbed soil, around the planting, stayed hydrophobic, and the tree died. sometimes being lazy, is better than trying too hard! i assume, if he would have dug a small hole, and would have maybe even removed some of the wood chip potting mix (very carefully and than within seconds into the hole)the tree would have flourished!! in short, the hole acted like a water hole, and created what is called water horizons, which is a very bad thing.

tony abbott is our new PM!!

I believe tony, is mildly dyslexic, actually dyslexics make extremely good politititions. problem is, I have so far not seen any iq tests, which cater for dyslexics. a dyslexic, will answer many questions, in an iq test with extreme ease and speed, whilst some others, produce a sensation, were letters and numbers, start to dance, and will not keep still. who ever wins, I hope they do a good job, for us.

yes! I am not very clever either, and halve of my brain doesn't work proper, because of my dyslexia, but I am sure, I would beat tony, within any given pub quiz, hehehe.

bullit, we love your insight knowledge, and I don't wanna nit pick here but... instead of your, "no ya cant" it would be better to say, "not advisable". some super market fruit are definitely picked, too early and taste watery, but it is possible. the cocktail avocado, get's produced when it's cold, that's interesting. but don't call it a mature fruit, because it's neither, of mature size, nor is it sexually mature, because it doesn't contain a seed. definition mature: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/mature and btw, bullit, regarding my nexus seed give away, (now that I have your attention)it was "NOT RIGGED" as you claimed. give away, means for free and not as you see it, that the receivers have to be drawn, by sheer chance. I gave away, many items, by letting a draw, decide the winners. the nexus seeds were given away for free, but not by means of a free raffle. I ask you, to stop, writing things, which make me look bad, just because you, you don't understand them correctly. I like your input, and believe most people here do the same, but if you don't know what, "mature" or "give away" means, don't let it out onto me! http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=36157&hl= I wish you nice weekend, my intention is not to upset you.

syria gas attack, who u think it was?

money makes the world go round, world go round, world go round. believe it or not, at times I am on the side of the north americans, and let me say, I love American people, but struggle at times with the views of the nation as a whole. what sally, just said reminds me of the synthetic rubber patent, which was held by the germans, before the 2nd world war broke out. the 2nd ww did cut north America off there rubber supplies. http://www.versteegde.nl/History_of_Elastic_and_Rubber_Bands.html naturally, rubber was of upper most importance, in the war effort, but (money makes the world go round) the American patent holders (of the german patent) refused for a long time, to share there secrets, because they made tons of money. but in the end they were forced to give up the secret of how to synthesize rubber.

syria gas attack, who u think it was?

two, things I heard American spokesmen say: i'm paraphrasing, one said, " we will not release any information about our findings to the puplic, for security reasons". the second, the gas was delivered to the target site, via a rocket, and the free Syria movement doesn't possess this capability. well, if it's a set up as I believe, than surly they would have used a rocket, so to make it look the regime did it... another thing, which I learned from how the native americans planed war fare. they put themselves into the shoes of the enemy, and try to think how the enemy thinks. for example, choosing an attack location, and let's say there are two possible options. the enemy has to cross the river to attack. there is one, location which allows for easy crossing, and one that is more difficult... first thought, the enemy will cross at the "easy" location. second thought, the enemy, is not that stupid and will cross at the difficult location. third thought, the enemy, is not that stupid, not to think, what we are thinking, and will again, cross the river at the "easy location"! believe it or not, that is exactly what happened, with the Normandy landing!! now put this logic onto our subject. al-assad knows, if he gasses his own people, he will get air striked. he can, only get away with it, if he can blame it onto the free Syria movement. but, this is where this too and fro ends, as the risk, to believe, that he will get away, with blaming the rebels is just too big. guy's, I don't like putin, but for me, he is the only one I will trust now, regarding this issue, if he say's, yes, I say yes too, as I believe that, they can manipulate our opinons, but will fail to trick, the Russian secret service. oh, yeah, of course the usa, got stockpiles of chemical weapons as well... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_and_weapons_of_mass_destruction oh, yeah, America never signed a treaty, which facilitates the investigation of war crimes. that's why the use of napalm and the rape of children, in nam never got dealt with.

I take of the flowers of small trees, but as well would like to hear it from the experts. btw, I started grafting my own trees, and had some success with it. http://www.ctahr.hawaii.edu/sustainag/extn_pub/fruitpubs/Propagating%20Avocados-Principles%20and%20Techniques%20of%20Nursery%20and%20Field%20Grafting.pdf I used only things which you can find already in every house hold, a box cutter blade, and as tape, I used strips of plastic, which I did cut out of some old shopping bags, choose the bags, which will stretch. than an other plastic bag was used as humidity dome. I secured the end of the plastic strip, with normal sticky tape (as well cut into a narrow strip (~5mm wide and ~5cm long) things I noticed: make sure the stock you cut was well watered and the tissue, is semi soft (avoid woody stock). wrap the tape (I have used electric tape as well) tight, but not as tight to bruise the skin of the stock and scion. diy, is just cooler than buying, hehehe.

What did you do in your sacred garden today?

i have the same issue, and found that on paper, the problem is much easier to solve than in reality, at least in a fashion which is asthetic, functional, and fast to build. i gave up on growing aquatic plants (i still have the "grow bed", filter anyway), in the pond now, because this will allow me to, shade the pond more. i had as well problems with birds, eating up my fish, so stopping evaporation, and loss of stock is my priority now. another thing just crossed my mind... imagen you only have town water which is very alkaline, and you need neutral water, for the acid loving plants. if you catch the condensation, of this setup, you have a source of neutral water.

the study I refer to, was done by some Austrian university, they did not just crush leaves, but they would have done a proper examination. I deleted the link, to this paper unfortunately, because I had concerns... safrol content is low, as far as I remember, and masked by an abundance of other scent. i could even believe, to smell a very tiny hint of safrol, crushing an avo leaf.

    Camphor laurel (Cinnamomum camphora)

I used to work, in a very dusty environment every day, which caused bronchial issues, to aid this condition, I used camphor leaves, as an inhalant. I never heard safrol, is sedating and nothing more, I was told the body will metabolise the safrol, into uplifting activas. I even noticed effects, using camphor wood in cabinet making. if for example you use a router, the wood will heat up and release intoxicating fumes. leaves, I personally would not use camphor seedlings, unless, I know what they contain. what I try to say, has maybe no merit, but I would rather suggest to be on the save side. seedlings or young plants, might have a total or slightly different make up of active compounds, compared to mature plants. young plants, want to protect themselves from being eaten, whilst old ones don't. it would be nice to know, how the profile changes, regarding old and young camphor.
