I think throwing certain acacia phyllodes on hot coals in an enclosed space and breathing the smoke would be a far more likely scenario than an ayahuasca type brew.

No I can only find a transcript regarding his martial arts philosophy. At first I was skeptical as this 'I do 20 to 30g' talk sounds a bit egotistical. But he comes across quite humble really, and seems to advocate such high doses to achieve a certain effect rather than prove how tough he is. at the same time it worries me that people will wipe themselves out by hearing that some people like Kilindi can take these massive doses. as much as exploring hyperspace is important, sanity is more so. 10g's can be a challenge to return with sanity intact... hold the clear light or the shapeshifting sorcerer drifting through the forest will find me, etc. there really is an art to navigating these psychic planes. yeah I have always though preying mantis are the coolest critters, very fascinating. however after being 'killed' by a not so friendly one in a dream I have thought twice about letting them seep to deeply into my consciousness...

Transcendent Compounds: Win with the Victorian Government and request for assistance.

Could be a sign to slow down a bit? This is exactly why the organics should be pursued, they really are plant teachers. -
if you really did find them in a river, i'm guessing someone ditched their booty after a snap and run...

tastes pretty bad when made into a tea, but you can get pretty strong effects. so much so, that sleepless nights drifting between dream and awake can result, so careful with dosage.

don't belittle yourself in the process! good points, especially that modern tobacco use is far removed from traditional american usage. the mass consumption of this once sacred herb is sickening. the whole my bong/vape is bigger and badder than your vape/bong is a bit silly. i understand why people are so passionate about vaporising, but chastising people for looking for a new bong is not going to convince anyone. as much as i love vapes, i wouldn't get near a major plant ethno without smoking a spliff with tobacco, where legal. the synergy is undeniable.

totally agree. ayahuasca is a good candidate as it has both a long history of human usage and is biological in origin (as opposed to synthetics like LSD). plus the similarity with brain chemistry (NN-DMT and beta-carbolines) is a compelling argument against prohibition, in my mind... pun intended. -
Forum upgrade happening in the next few days.

not sure if it has already been mentioned, but can we get the "IPS community" banner in the top left corner changed to "The Corroboree"? I have seen other forums using the same software where it has been changed, so i assume IPS community is just the out of the box default. thanks. -
mate, i'm a big of vaporising too but it comes across as slightly elitist to dismiss smoking with tobacco as the past-time of the 'bogan masses'. tobacco has been eaten, snuffed, smoked and inserted by native people on the american continent for millennia. in fact some shamanic traditions refer to tobacco as the mother of ayahausca, which shows you how much they revered it. also, tobacco smoke is key aspect of shamanic healing rituals.

do you mean a nicotine hit? vaping or smoking pure weed, it hits at the same speed. there are vaporisor attachments for bongs if you have a hard on for glass pipes edit: fair enough, just annoys me when people bitch about how they are addicted to cannabis and it fucked up their life when it was nicotine that they were addicted to.

at the risk of repeating myself (have been a few threads on this topic, UTSE), my 2 cents on the issue. smoking anything is bad for your health so forget quit-smoking-pot mixes etc. try tapering off by baking some brownies and slowly reducing the dose. it is more difficult to get addicted to a substance you have to eat and takes longer to come on, than smoking which is a rapid mode of administration. valerian tablets followed by melatonin is good for inducing sleep. the cannabinoids strongly stimulate melatonin production, thus sleeping difficulties are often encountered when one stops using. throwing gaba in the mix can also help with anxiety. try replacing the smoking ritual with a herbal tea ritual. you may find much of the pleasure you derived from smoking was not from inhaling the smoke but the calming ritual itself.

beautiful photos hav, welcome to the forum! my opinions: the first photo is possibly a variety of panaeolus cyanescens, I have come across similar specimens with redish stems in SE asia. below are some photos for comparison. note some have whitish stems, others have a redish tint. the second photo is almost certainly psilocybe cubensis, unmistakable. but to make sure, take a spore sprint and check for the purple black colour, and pinch the stem and check for the blue oxidation reaction.

A quick report on some interesting experiences I have had with amanita muscaria recently. I had trouble sleeping for a few weeks, and was prescribed a number of pharmaceuticals and supplements to help with this including agomelatine, melatonin, clonazepam and valerian/hops extracts. For me, more effective than all of these at inducing deep good quality sleep is low dose amanita muscaria. I have dosed two medium caps three separate times now after highly stressful periods where my anxiety was through the roof, and each time I have experienced a strong anxiolytic effect followed by a deep 8 hour sleep. the method of preparation was to dry the freshly picked caps at 50 degrees in an oven over night, and then boil in 500mL of water for 1 hour, filter and reduce to 50mL. IMO this mushroom may not be psychedelic, but it seems to have many benefits as a medicine. Interesting that pharmacies in many european countries are decorated with a red and white mushroom motif.
