    What Acacia is this?

Hey guys, Yea, I've heard the CSIRO stuff is great. Pretty $$$-ish for me atm as I'm trying to obtain plants and a decent setup. [Ebay oinly has some random CSIRO weightloss one..] Is SWIY able to host the CD as an ISO or something online somewhere? Even if it's just a use-once torrent? [if not, don't worry I guess.] - As I will be getting a couple of them off the site eventually, as someone suggested the handbook is worth the money itself. Tremendous amount of help and info in these forums! Thanks Guys! BB

Hey there, Thanks for the time to reply! Hehe, Yea I know what you mean they are a pretty amazing cactus. I won't deny I have plans on consuming several assorted plants … but I've had a sudden call to horticulture! Plants are amazing, and with my current commitments I can actually still have them with a job, Uni and little monies in my pocket. As you often have to just kinda *sigh* and say maybe later with a lot of things.. which sucks because life has enought constrains as it is. Yea, I just got a job in a nursery and bought a couple books of ebay on grafting so any hopefully wont just fail and die when I get some and give it a shot. - Can you recommend anything in particular to graft onto? Because there are different growth rates, etc.., etc.., right? But yea, thanks for giving me the time of day.. really in sighting post there. Cheers.

Haha, thanks. I'm aware of the site but I didn't actually think of checking for this strain. Considering cultivation is relatively exponential, I was kinda hoping for a head start. To readers, I dunno if 'free' is the right term, I'm more than willing to cash up (as it's really only fair), but that said, I don't plan on leaving you with a large profit margin. For those who don't require anything other than postage (There’s no way I’m letting you pay postage), I do intend on repaying the favour.

  9. Hey guys, Long time reader, first time poster Just need help IDing this suspected Acacia Species, the images are attached. Plant Info: Found in "Eastern NSW, Australia", tree estimated to be 4-5 meters high, wide canopy, spine-like leaves. - BTW, Can SWIY upload any Acacia/Acacia ID material? - Possibly that CSIRO CD I hear talk of? Hell, all or any botany info? Any help greatly appreciated, Cheers!

    What Acacia is this?

Hey guys! wow, thanks for all the imput! OK.. so Yea, all the Acacia's in my area have started flowering in the last few weeks. Before that I hadn't even seen them round! This one has really thick bark on it which peels off in sections, this sets it appart from the other in the area which don't even appear to have bark other than a dense, thick flesh. The bark is currently falling off/already has, still plenty on it atm. Its (Actually there are two) a fair bit shorter than the rest, standing about... 2-3meters tall. On a previous post it was mentioned that a shot of the tree itself would help, should I do this? or perhaps a more developed branch? EDIT: Added Info.

Would you go to war for australia

I disagree. I think it's all true. - It's just we are then bound to viewing history through a possibly biased context. But considering it even further, everything the defeated writes isn't true as well (A. Greece is a good example of this.). There is no objectivity!

Same stance, be more than happy to accept seeds or bulbs (hopefully bulbs/roots), but would again be more than willing to fork out for a larger cactus with multiple heads, left/gave away most of my garden at my last house, but I could always trade on a credit if ppl are cool with that.

Would you go to war for australia

I've always thought that if Australia had to introduce conscription (or something dire) I would enlist anyway, but that was because I thought there wouldn't be enough people rallying at home. Feels great to see people would stand by, seems most would do thier part under thier own rule, which is great too. Whoever said run and hide... Shame, Shame. Advance Australia Fair!

    MELBOURNE FINDS !!!!

Bump. I think I just realised how much fun I was missing out on!!! ~ Seems like I gotta move to Melbourne after reading some of these posts... like, WOW. SWIM tells me some of those critters go for $20/g round here, and then you can never get them anyway..

    Suspected Acacia Species...

Yea, I think your right, a friend said he thought he had some and they were sometimes called 'Wirilda' or something. - You recognise the other one? ...Looks a little like the one in the original post but it has leaves instead of spines and a Teal sort of colour.
