Fluoride Significantly Lowers IQ
Buttsack replied to whitewind's topic in Sustainable Technologies & Ethical Living
I'm assuming the dumb people lived in an underdeveloped area and had poor schooling. You can buy fluoride free toothepaste. Aloe Dent is a good alternative to fluoride toothepaste. Most people have crappy teeth because they are lazy. Flossing is 50% of the teeth cleaning process and I personally don't know many people who floss. From what I've read fluoride replaces the calcium in our bones and teeth. All you need to do to see that fluoride is poisonous is look at it's MSDS http://www.sciencelab.com/msds.php?msdsId=9927595 "Ingestion: If swallowed, do not induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical personnel. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Loosen tight clothing such as a collar, tie, belt or waistband. Get medical attention immediately." Any product that has "do not swallow" on the label or "keep out of reach of children" shouldn't be ingested by anyone. You won't see those labels on organic products. -

Please Help Me Identify These 4 Plants
Buttsack posted a question in Plant Identification (non-cactus)
Over the summer whenever I ate fruit I would plant the seeds but I didn't bother marking what they were. I thought they would be easier to identify but after a bit of searching on google I still don't know what they are. The seedlings in the first pic are baffling me. They look like capsicum but I never planted any capsicum seeds there, that I can remember. I think it might be capsicum? ? ? Kiwi fruit? -
Please Help Me Identify These 4 Plants
Buttsack replied to Buttsack's question in Plant Identification (non-cactus)
Thanks for the help. I've pulled the weeds that were 3 and re-planted 4. Is 4 most likely a weed? 2. How big should the seedling be before I re-pot it? In the pot where most of these seedlings are growing I had a lifeless lychee plant. Since the other seedlings have been growing the lychee has gotten new leaves and is starting to grow. Would the lychee plant be pushed to grow faster because it is competing for soil with the other plants? I've got a rasberry plant which hasn't grow at all in 3 months and is still a small 15cm high seedling. How would I get this to grow? Thanks for all the help -

I wasn't sure if the ones on ebay would be actually Tasmanian Purple. Since the strain is from Tasmania and the ones from ebay come from the USA. I'd trust a local seller more. -
I'm looking at getting a greenhouse and the ones on ebay seem pretty good for the price $469 - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Aluminium-Garden-Hot-House-Shed-GREENHOUSE-/380361245743?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item588f4c042f Has anyone bought anything like this from ebay? I'll be making a timber base and covering the ground with black plastic, then gravel. Then put the greenhouse on top.

Greenhouse from Ebay
Buttsack replied to Buttsack's topic in Sustainable Technologies & Ethical Living
I'm setting up the greenhouse now and just putting some clear panel fencing up to protect it more from the wind. The fence panels are clear but blocks 99% of UV light. They are designed to have a certain side facing the sun. Will the panels blocking the UV light affect plant growth? -

I ended up buying a 3.7m x 2m greenhouse from byrontrader for $400. I'll be putting it together in the next week. What have you guys used for the base? I'm thinking of following this guide for my base http://www.littlegreenhouse.com/base/base.shtml I don't want to use treated pine because it will corrode the aluminium, so cypress seems like the best choice if I could find it. -

How much did you pay for yours Hillbilly? I'm looking at the one's from byrontraders since they seem to have the higher gutters. How high are the gutters on yours? -

tripsis I had a look at a few and most seem to be 1.5m like you said. The seller you listed seems to be the cheapest for the ones with the higher walls. Why crushed rock and not gravel? I'd rather small/medium round gravel on the floor since it won't hurt my bare feet. -

Good point about the wall height. Which one did you get? -

Yeah I'm not in the free postage area either but I'll probably just get it delivered to a friends then go and pick up from there. This looks stirdy but I've only seen pictures. I reckon buying one will outweigh the time it would take me to build one. -
I bought a few plants from shaman-australis.com and now have a few different weeds/plants growing with them. I'm new to gardening so I'm not sure what the other weeds or plants are. Some of the weeds are now bigger than the plant since I've been away on holidays. Pic 1 - tabernanthe iboga. Is the other plant just a blade of grass? Pic 2 - catha edulus (you can just see it in the back leaning on the bamboo). The 2 bigger plants/weed I'm not sure what they are? Pic 3 - catha edulus - is the plant on the left just a weed? Sorry for asking such a basic question. I probably should just pull them out straght away but I just want to know what they are first.

Thanks mate. I've been away for the past 2 months and had someone else take care of them for me. He had no idea what was what and just watered them. I only just got back today and wanted to know what was what before I ripped them out. I'm pretty devastated about the iboga. What's the best thing I can do to get this plant back in good condition. Will the leaves just have fallen off because of the cold?

Buttsack posted a topic in Ethnobotany
I have some Argyreia nervosa - Hawaiian Baby Woodrose seeds and wanted to plant a few in my own garden. Just wondering if they will grow well in mid east coast NSW? Also how many seeds would one plant drop on average?
