Yeah just wanted to say thanks as well. I had a great time. Must admit i was a little nervous at first, meeting new people always makes me a bit shy. But after being introduced to you all i felt very comfortable. If anything i felt a bit uneducated as there were lots of people there that really knew their shit. It was interesting just listening to conversations and learning new things. A very special thank you to 2deep and Darkspark for making everything happen and providing a great venue and comfortable surroundings. Cheers heaps for all the plants too! Sorry i couldnt stay for the bbq, i was having such a good time that i lost track and forgot i had another commitment later in the arvo. It was great to see you again Andyamine and meet Gem, lovely genuine people. And good to put a face to the name Jox, shame you couldnt stay longer. I really look forward to the next meet guys. Hope to see you all again soon. Gollum

Nah 2deep, Its up at brookfeilds. We hired out the hall for the night. Just a few friends and relos getting together that we dont see very often. We hired a bush band to play for a couple of hrs. We try to do it every year. Great way to keep in touch.

Yeah, um, would like to say i'm badass raver, but, it really is a bush dance. Like, honkey tonk, hoe-down, yeeeehaww type bush dance. Jeans and cowboy hats and flannies. Its more of a family & kids get together. Probably shouldn't have said anything and you lot would have been none the wiser. Not that i ever had much of a doofing plant head rep anyway. Now i leave myself open to copping a bit of shit at the meet i guess. "Can't wait to see peoples reactions when they see me for the first time. I always find it amusing as i am generally not what people expect and often when i am meeting people they will walk straight past me lol." Im excpecting you to have rainbow coloured dreads down to your ass, smelling of patchouli and sandlewood with jesus sandals and a sarong. In fact ill be disappointed if you don't.

Hey Gem, been following this thread and first off id like to wish you all the best with your medication management, sounds like you are on the right track. Secondly, I can tell you about my experience with epilem(Sodium valproate). I was prescribed this last year in conjunction with Zoloft(Sertraline) Currently i take 400mg of epilim a day with 50mg Zoloft. I have lost count of the different mood stabilizers and anti depressants over the years but these two together work incredibly well for me. The Epilim has been a huge help. I was very up and down before taking this but now it keeps me at a more stable, instead of having high highs and low lows. I dont know if it is the combination of the two, all can say is that the Zoloft itself didnt do that much for me. Give it a chance and see how you go. I noticed a more improved frame of mind within the first 3-4 days of taking it. Realize though that we are all different, what works for me may not work for you. I just wanted to share my experience with you so you have something to go off. Good luck with it all. Stay positive. -

Hope some out can help me out here. I believe that L.williamsii grown from seed tends to have a single head for a fair portion of its life, then it can form multiple heads with age. If the button has been cut at soil level for a graft or re-rooting it tends to clump and re-shoot with multiple pups similar to the ceaspitosa variety. My question is, can you tell a true ceaspitosa from a standard L. williamsii that has been cut and has started clumping? Are there any differences to look for in ribs or colour? Or do you really have to keep track of your ceaspitosas and non-ceaspitosas if grafting and re-rooting to tell them apart? Thanks

Oleander is another dangerous one i believe. Ive heard a story about a guy on the tweed coast that broke off a stem of Oleander to stir his cup of tea and was poisoned. Not sure if this an urban myth, but have heard it from a couple of different people. When we sold Daturas and Brugs at the nursery we had 2 tags on each plant, one, a disclaimer and the other a warning about the toxicity of the plant. We had lots of people telling us that we should not be selling them. But i believe if you are a responsible grower you take as many precautions as you can to make sure the plant is safe. e.g. dont plant it next to your fence where young children play, and inform anyone with children that come to your house that it is a toxic plant and should have care taken around it. We should educate people about these plants to admire their beauty, not just scare them off. "Know what you are dealing with, and minimise the harm." Totally agree Whitewind.

Just had a Pm from the member i sent the seeds to. There has been some miscommunication. They did receive the seeds after all.
-
We use to sell both Datura and Brugmansia at our nursery on the goldie, sold heaps. @ Stillman, I had the seeds wrapped in a bit of thin bubble wrap to protect them from being crushed. The letter was quite thick. Maybe that caught their attention.
-
Yeah i had them labelled. Didn't think i had anything to hide. Really should have done my homework before sending. Im a bit cheesed off with myself right now.
-
You gotta be kidding http://www.ebay.com....5#ht_500wt_1413 And he is going to send it bare rooted!! I'd say it will more than likely be absolutely rooted by the time you get it. $10 bucks... come on man.
