    New Vic drug law

Woah, I think I fucked this thread up with poor word choice. Sorry. Michael, thanks for explaining that. I didn't have the right idea of anarchy. For some reason I associated the word with people who were actively against authority and went out of their way to make trouble. What I wanted to say is that I'm not a person who has a disrespect for ALL rules and regulations - not a trouble-maker or 'fuck the cops' kind of dude. I just wanted to say that I like to try and use the 'live and let live' philosophy. I want to quietly do my own thing without bothering anyone. I figure that if no one notices what I'm doing and doesn't impact on them at all, then they shouldn't complain about it. What harm is done if I smoke a joint alone in my bedroom? Having speed limits for drivers is practical and it's easy to understand their purpose. Highly complex and ridiculously general laws (like the plants one), however, aren't worth getting upset about - or following. Just my opinion. I didn't want to start a debate about the meaning of 'anarchy' or to undermine the effort that Torsten goes to in order to keep everyone updated on what's happening in the legal world. Apologies.

    New Vic drug law

Even with threads like this, I still don't know what's going on. I mean, I understand what's being said. I just don't understand the laws. Different laws for different states. Plants are now illegal it seems - virtually all of them. Synthetic cannabis seems to be more open for discussion of regulating sales than the simple growing of plants. This approach Australia is taking - more and more laws which are increasingly broad and generalised - begs the question: Does the government have the resources to follow through with even a fraction of the shit they're proposing is illegal? I'm no anarchist. I obey common sense rules which make life nicer for people. I don't drive intoxicated. I don't throw rubbish on the street. I treat everyone with the same basic respect that I'd like to be shown. In the past when I messed around with RCs, I posted about it on BlueLight so people would have a clue, because the media can't report a single sentence accurately and only make things harder to understand. I'm doing a public service in telling people how to do things safely if they insist on doing them. Do I want a medal? No. The thanks that I've recieved in private messages is encouragement enough. For every new law that comes in, and for every new development regarding ISPs and agencies data mining in an attempt to control EVERYTHING, the less respect I have for the powers that be. I don't want a revolution. I can't be bothered. The authorities are making it hard enough for themselves. At this rate, they'll need to have two officers per citizen to keep us all suppressed. Heaven forbid someone should grow a plant in their garden or take a drug. It would be nice to see people with actual life experience and compassion in places of authority -not to run around treating people like stupid animals that need to be herded, but to offer guidance and information that is understandable. That's too much to ask, isn't it? Call me Pollyanna. The people who hold the majority of power and control are not worth listening to. THey don't know anything about themselves. They are dangerously ignorant and should be treated in the same way as a frightened lost dog with big teeth - keep your distance because they are scared and confused, don't antagonise them. They are suffering, too.

    Law changes in NSW

I read an article in The Age today about the banning of a synthetic cannabinoid product called 'Marley'. Interesting thing was that the slant of the article was about the futility of banning the active substances in these branded smoking things, and how the NZ model of putting the onus of proving safety of the product onto the distributor was a more realistic approach. I've seen similar articles a few times over the last few months. Seems like the mainstream media is focusing on more sensible options, which is good but also strange. It's strange because while mainstream media articles are more frequently quoting experts who are in favour of meeting synthetic smoking crud halfway, the law-makers seem to be more aggressively trying to ban natural, benign, and (literally) garden variety plants. The complexity (and ridiculousness) of the situation increasingly makes me think that I'll just quietly do whatever I want, as I've done for the last couple of decades without any problems. As far as I'm concerned, for the average person - and in this case by 'average' I mean someone not in the business of selling or trading either plants or synthetics - these "laws" aren't worth paying attention to. In theory, the idea of banning nature makes me angry... but in practice it hasn't made a jot of difference to the world I live in. For the entirety of my current incarnation on Earth, marijuana has been illegal or controlled and potentially can get you into trouble, but it's always been around and in some circles I've been in is as common as having a beer.

    a plea - organ donation

Slybacon: that is indeed quite a chapter in your life. I don't like this at all. That is pretty outrageous and would make me very angry and stressed. Becoming an organ donor is such a personal thing. It's not for me but I can see both sides of the situation. I tend to agree with Michael68's comments above. I've been through too much with family members in hospitals to want anything to do with them anymore.

    MALE BREAST GROWTH AND POT

^Good question! Bigger boobs? A... new appendage suddenly sprouting? I used to think it would be kind of cool to have my own boobs to fondle at will when I was 13, but I realised that fondling my own marijuana induced boobs with my hairy palms would be a strange and confusing experience so I quit smoking (for two months).

    Telstra scamming their clients.

Is it just Australia that has this absurd situation whereby the communications and utilities providers are powerful AND incompetent, while the customers are guilty till proven innocent? It's hard to find a person who hasn't had some ridiculous run ins with a telcom. I've had a few and it shits me to tears because fixing up their mistakes takes ages. It's OK to waste my time apparently - I'm only a paying customer. How the fuck did we end up with a system like this?! I'm sure other developed countries have all kinds of issues, but friends of mine who visit from England or North America are shocked at a lot of stuff that I realise I've come to take for granted: transport being expensive but not good, awful service in a variety of situations, blatant rip off merchants passing themselves off as corporations...wait... that last one kind of contradicts itself, but anyway. I hate the feeling that being alive and trying to live a 'normal' life in the mainstream in Australia means that you must play by all the rules laid down by real estate agents, service providers, banks, etc. It's pretty hard to live any kind of life without a bank account and electricity let alone a mobile phone, and the attitude on behalf of the companies seems to be "You need our shit, so just pay and do what we tell you to. What else are you gonna do?"
  8. As some of you know, I use a "tracker" - kind of software which is less common and seen by some as being kind of redundant now, but I'm biased towards trackers because I've been using them for so long. I think it be suitable for you, as they are retro by nature, there are numerous free-to-download ones - some of them are actually good, and some inexpensive ones like Renoise, which is what I use. I paid 80euros about 8 years ago for it, and it was pretty much a blank canvas. Didn't come with anything much except an uninspiring demo track. I'm still using the exact same software - only updated once - but with a huge library of plug-ins, VSTs, custom-made filters, etc. The reason I mention trackers, is that by their very retro nature, they lend themselves to a more 'inorganic' kind of electro sound: it's actually hard NOT to sound retro with trackers, which is why some people are surprised when they hear one of my tracks and I tell them it's completely tracker-based (to be fair though, I've hand crafted this DAW over nearly a decade and have some great plug-ins, so it's not like I'm just using the default settings). It's a lot of fun, and I think trackers are kind of easy to get to grips with in the beginning if you want to make some retro beats.... you can have a blast! In the meantime, have a listen to a new collaborative track between rapper/poet Mae Dali and Tepalom (me) if you feel like hearing something different. (warning: it's different) The original lyrics were performed by Mae Dali and the original music compsed by myself, so it's %100 original - for better or worse!! https://soundcloud.com/maedali/maealom-pt-3

    sab will never die!

Planthelper: I don't think you need worry about an untimely expiration due to the closing of SAB. It has too many actively involved members and people with real passion and knowledge on the topics the site covers. Props to Torsten for keeping it going at a pretty consistently high quality. And for the record, I think Planthelper would make an awesome site - be it his own or if he took over SAB

    good hip hop?

Can't help myself here... May be just me, but I think Mae Dali is a lyrical genius. Takes me back to when hip hop was creative and hard. https://soundcloud.com/maedali/no-introduction https://soundcloud.com/maedali/rapture And upcoming... I think this guy has amazing talent and will be big one day: Kay Miyagi https://soundcloud.com/kay-miyagi/kay-miyagi-osp-old-skool-playa
  11. Hello again! I still have a few cacti which I unforunately need to part with as I need to move out in about a month. If anyone can make it out to my place in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, I can give you a good price and possibly a freebie of some sort. What's left: -a very upright and healthy peruvian, in the ground. Fairly short spines, a bit under a meter in height, approx. five years old. Very pleasingly symetrical and perfectly round. -a potted peruvian, good health, medium length spines (bigger than the one in the ground - around two to three centimetres in length (the spines, that is). Around 50cm tall and a bit skinny - not from lack of care, it's brothers are fat. Again, around five years old. It's a darker shade of green than it's brothers, with less of the bluish hue which often characterises the peruvian cacti. -a metre-long peruvian cutting. Quite a chunky log with some decent spines, making it hard to handle! However, there is signs of rot at the base of the cutting where the plants was severed. This I would give away. I believe the rot is fairly superficial, but as it is there I couldn't charge for it. -an almost six foot tall san pedro, around seven years old. Has flowered. In a pot which is way too small (my bad - should have repotted it ages ago). It has a pup which has become a 30 centimtre long branch from the base. This cactus shows some signs of black spots. I'm not sure how bad, or how deep it runs. For this reason, I would sell it for a low price or, possibly give it away if the potential buyer determines the plant is sick. -another potted peruvian. five years old. Healthy and robust. Large spines. The pot is actually the property of the house owner, and thus would need to be removed. I do have spare pots and decent soil, though. Re-potting wouldn't take long. Like the first peruvian I mentioned (the upright one in the ground), this one is one of the more robust and healthy plants I have and would do well in the ground. It's about 50-60 centimetres high. I also have two psychotria; sadly, they are not in great health. The carthagenensis is about five years old, and looks scrappy, but is very tough and with care would certainly make a recovery. It has flowered a few times. It's rapidly getting nice green new leaves after it dropped the old ones in winter. The 'Nexus' hybrid is, unforunately, worse off, but again it is tough and is putting out new leaves now as the weather warms up. It could be brought to health with the right conditions. Both psychotrias are quite small for their age, due to being potted and not liking the conditions they've endured. They are only around 40cm high. The problem with these two is, sadly, my neglect to properly maintain conditions for them. My mini greenhouse fell apart about a year and a half ago, and they both toughed out the last winter without shelter. Additionally, they should have been re-potted a long time ago. Please PM me if interested in anything. To be honest, the best plants - aside from the two healthy peruvians - are already reserved or have been taken. There are still some good things here though, and as I said, if anyone's willing to venture out my way to pick them up, I would be flexible with pricing. Thanks
  12. Some more pics (hopefully - just getting to grips with DropBox) https://www.dropbox.com/sh/nw2f44vh0an9vgb/bNGVCIBeHX I love the shot of the tall pedro flowering with rays of light eminating from it. I swear there was no filtering or trickery. I just pointed and clicked a few times from slightly different angles and got a bunch of these god rays blasting out - as if the flowers weren't spectacular enough. I will try to take into consideration eveyrone's preferences and circumstances. I appreciate that uit's easier for some than others to get here and to transport the stuff. Imagine trying to carry that six foot pedro on the train!!! Also, I am crap when it comes to pricing. Normally, I don't think about money much, but I am in a very, very precarious situation and really need some cash. I guess discussing it via PM is the way to go, and prices can be negotiated once you have seen the plants in real life, because some of them have some blemishes.
  13. Hello good people of the SAB board! EDIT FOR UPDATE (original post is still below, unedited): -The narrow leaf shrub is gone. -ONE of three small but solid potted peruvians with long spines is gone. TWO left. RESERVED: deep green peruvian with very long spikes (60cm tall), the TBM (penis cacti), and the dual pronged pedro (one with stump and two relatively small off-shoots). Oh, and I can't help it. Look at the narrow leaf when I brought it over here three or four years back. It was so easy to transport then!! https://www.dropbox.com/s/ymqo84gzaev06cg/narrow%20leaf%20at%20two%20years.jpg EDIT: I have to be out of here by early December, but have not prepared the cacti yet. So, I'll be adding pics as the days go by and giving a more detailed idea of what I've got. ALso, I have a nice shrub with narrow leaves - about five years old. Very hardy and attractive in summer. Sadly, I must vacate the premises on which I have lived for the last couple of years... or has it been four yeasr already?! Anyway, there's no way I can take all my cacti. There aren't a huge number of them, nor are there any super rare things (that I know of), but they have grown and are kind of beyond posting. I am based in Greenborough, so not exactly close to the city (but then... how many SABBERs would be living in the city I wonder?!) Tallest is a columnar cacti at around 1.5 metres, has flowered, and is around seven years old. Most are around sixty centimetres in length, and some are quite chunky indeed. Peruvian, Pedro, Eileen, Psycho0, Super Pedro and some littlies that I may well just give to anyone who's willing to come and get it. See, that's the thing, I am beyond busy and the only way I can do this is if people come and get them. I'll consider the distance any person has to travel when negotiating price. Ideally, someone wants all of them (or most of them) and can do a single pick up. Details and pics to follow in the coming days. Moderators, please let me know if I am skirting around any dangerous legal territory in describing the cacti or posting pictures of them (or anything else). Thank you so much. -Halif
  14. https://www.dropbox.com/s/1ebb1bzpchsgbmj/two%20peru%20and%20psycho0%20in%20middle.jpg See if this works... All right!! Probably the least attractive picture to choose from the whole bunch. Let's try that again, putting them all into one album.... https://www.dropbox.com/sh/zdfi35f1ck3yuf3/Cs_iYEs_L6 This should be a bit less than half, not including littlies. Note the slim and lean pedro - that one I've had the longest and am sad to see her go. I'll post pics of her flowering if I can find it.
  15. OK, quite a few people seem quite keen, so I had better get a timeline together or something to structure it a bit. I am frequently out of the house suddenly because I'm the only licenced driver, and I have a brother and girlfriend who depend on being picked up/dropped off at random times. That means I can never guarantee I'll be home at any point unless I make an appointment. If I can, I'd like to put some pics here before anyone gets too excited. They have suffered some neglect at times, but are ultimately pretty healthy (uhhh the cacti... not my bro and GF). As keen as people are, I think it would be better for me if I got stuff ready and prepared and then opened the doors (floodgates) next week. I hope that doesn't disappoint anyone too much. I really appreciate how enthusiastic you guys are! I'll keep you posted. DOn't worry, I have your PMs so I know you asked about what first.
  16. Ooohh wasn't expecting such a quick response. I wish I had pics and stuff up. Thank you to the three who PM'd. I will respond to you each later, just for the member who was asking about pots. That was a question regarding potted cacti, I thought worth putting out here. I think most are in the ground. But I could be wrong because it's pretty even: ground to pot ration. Sorry, but pics and replies will have to wait till later. Thanks guys who PMd. I'll certainly get back to you ASAP.
  17. Planthelper: THank you so much for that feedback. You absolutely nailed this: I don't know the guy apart from a few messages we've exchanged, and a couple of collaborative tracks, but he has single handedly restored my faith in the genre of hip hop as a medium to deliver a message. And as you say, he does say 'nigger' a lot, and this is part of his background. He grew up in Washington state in circumstances I believe many would not be able to deal with, let alone to come out of it being as open minded as possible and channeling his anger/energy into art (painting) and music. The fact that someone can be rough as nails due to circumstances outside their control (ie. neighborhood where you grew up), but not be either crushed into depression, or become a part of the violence and perpetuate that cycle is no minor miracle. I';m so glad that you got this: You're spot on. I'm sick to death of gangsta rap and the glorifcation of what is a massive failure on the part of a nation and humanity in general - what happened? We went from 'The Message" to endless tracks about stacking paper, slappin' hoes, 15 inch rims on my benz, etc. Superficial shit. Mae is the real deal. he talks that way because he lived it. He doesn't have to try to sound tough or use the word nigger or swear a lot. he doesn't even have to raise his voice. There's a quiet authority and occasionally menacing edge to his lyrics at times which has way more impact that some pretender waving gang signs or guns around in a rap video. Thanks again, man. I really am glad that you got something out of it and recognised that there's something unique in this artist, and the fact that you learned something about BOTH of the contributors from hearing these sounds shows how attuned you are to frequencies. You're a legend. Just wanted to post a track of Mae's from a while back. I had nothing to do with this one, but I think it's awesome. It's not easy to take a message like "love yourself" which was become such a cheesy cliche, and make it sound utterly convincing. Add to the fact that it's coming from someone who didn't exactly have an easy go at life, and it makes it all the more meaningful: https://soundcloud.com/maedali/ex-psy-5
  18. Due to a number of circumstances I haven't done much inspired music creation of my own freeform electronica recently, but it's been an amazing chance to try something way outside of my comfort zone. I generally don't listen to hip hop or rap. There's undoubtedly some excellent hard hip hop from the 80s and early 90s, but when it went 'gangsta' and more or less replaced messages with meaningless symbols, bragging about superficial wealth, and hate-mongering I lost interest. Then when it turned into something else entirely in the 2000s I lost the plot totally and stopped listening. But SoundCloud is a great place to discover people who are the real deal, and I was blown away by the 'realness' and originality of a Washingtonian freestyler going by the name of Mae Dali. I messaged him simply to say that I was inspired by the sheer, unfiltered originality of some of his many, eclectic tracks; ranging from rough and off-the-streets old school freestyle rhymes, to spiritually (his own, not born again 'something or other') tinged tracks that were unlike anything I'd heard. Intelligent, cryptic lyrics - mostly off the top of his head after pressing record- in a stream of consciousness style. Some of it is humorous, some of it calmly threatening, some of it thoughtful and soul-searching... Anyway, to my surprise, I ended up making a couple of tracks for him to rhyme over - and I sent them off as rough samples expecting him to ask for changes. To my greater surprise he used both and posted them in less than 24 hours of my sending them, with no changes at all to the music. Here's the second - my favourite. https://soundcloud.com/maedali/maealom-pt-2 I will now go back to what I was doing before - re-releasing some of my better original compositions with higher fidelity and extended length which are then availablle as free downloads for anyone who wants to hear something a bit different.
  19. Cool PH! (if not being sarcastic - i actually couldn't tell) I thought about putting up a disclaimer before the link warning people that the track contains frequent swearing and use of the word nigger. I didn't put that warning up, because I figured that from my original post it would be expected. Not saying that there can't be good, hard hitting hip hop without swearing and saying 'nigger' all the time - check out Kay Miyagi on Soundcloud: A prime example of someone who frequently has messages of respect for his family and heritage, and general positive messages, without sounding cheesy at all. In fact, There's a cool unfazed tone in his voice which implies he doesn't need to shout, swear, or do anything other than delivery his raps. I like Mae Dali because he's so unique. He's broad minded, intelligent (lyrical genius in my opinion), very much into surrealist art (added the word Dali to his first name) after discovering the works out Salvador Dali. All these interesting ideas, and always changing, expanding - yet you can hear that he grew up rough. That sound comes out of his voice and leaves you with no doubt that he's the deal. I have found him to be very polite in out limited conversations, and I enjoyed collaborating with him. Finallly, a highly talented freestyle rapper who has garnered plenty of notice from not only fans, but radio and labels - and he doesn't want it. He won't take a contract. His art is his life to him, and he wouldn't risk corrupting it by allowing anyone else to control - even if it's for a big pay check. So, yeah, as you can tell, I'm pretty inspired by the guy, despite hip hop not being remotely close to one of my favourite genres. When someone is that original, they transcend their genre and become something else. EDIT: I wrote PlantHelper as PL ..... Plant Lover?!
  20. Agree completely. Moreover, the more they fight to ban them, the more unknown variants we see coming out. So, we now seem to have more drugs than ever before, more potent, cheaper (if talking about RCs), and more available to anyone who has acccess to a PC and credit card (or bank transfer details). And the grand irony is that in virtually every article printed after a death occurs related to someone taking an unknown substance, the authorities trot out the very same line: "The fact is, these substances are made by criminals and you don't know what's it them. Your gambling with your life when you take one of these pills or new legal highs." Yes, this is true. Many (perhaps most) young people who buy random pills for a concert of club outing have no way of knowing what's in them, because the authorities won't stop attempting to apply the 'if you ignore it, it will go away' approach. Instead, we get the exact opposite. NBOMEs being sold as LSD. Synthetic cannabis being sold as herbal smokes or incense. PVs being sold as cocaine 'alternatives'. Every one of them less understood and more dangerous than it's parent substance; LSD, marijuana, and and even cocaine could be said to be far, far safer to take. There is a wealth of information about their functions, dosages, appropriate action to take in case of overdose, etc. The NBOMEs are ridiculously potent, and are very interesting compounds. I don't think they should be banned, but they need to be understood as they're clearly not as physically benign or predictable as LSD. The early days of ''spice" the synthetic cannabinoid, contain JWH 018 seem positively safe compared to whatever the hell is doing the rounds in the forever changing novelty blends at present. At least the earlier cannabinoids actually resembled (and often very closely) actual marijuana. From what people tell me these days, the new smoke blends have effects that are nothing whatsoever like weed, and some are insanely potent (I haven't touched those for years and you couldn't pay me to try any of the new ones). Now, a substance like M_PV or it's close relative alpha... .these are things that are hard to justify the existence of. And this is from someone who has been quite partial to a bit of PV vaping in the past, despite the horrible effects it delivers. Not sure what purpose these things could possibly have when we already have a range of highly functional, powerful, and well studied stimulants - amphetamine, methylphenidate, ephedrine, cocaine. Do we need something like the PVs? For what? At the very least, the information about them should be checked adn confirmed and made readily available to anyone. It's the knowledge that makes the difference between life and death. So, I find it bitterly ironic when the police are quoted as saying: These substances are dangerous because you don't know what's in them. So just don't take them. Wow! Brilliant simplicity. I'm sure if they keep saying that, people will stop experimenting with new substances because they can't get anything else. Talk about burying your head in the sand....

    modalert

Modafinil is my kryptonite. First time I had it I was at a friend's place, quite comfortably high on morphine and K. I should have listened to the voice in my head saying "If it ain't broke..... ", because there was no reason to take it other than curiosity. WIthin 30 minutes or so, I went from 'comfortably numb' to being stone cold sober - or at least feeling that I was. It was like the fog lifted and the clear, harsh morning light came out and shone in my eyes. Suddenly I had total clarity - and that meant I was suddenly aware of all the things I'd been ignoring and repressing by constant substance use. It was hellish. I realised with horrid clarity that I can't stand my subjective reality. I can't stand to be sober. So, anyway, that was my dumb fault for taking stuff that wasn't needed and while I was already on two substances. Second time I tried it, I was more prepared and was not high (I had just woken up, you see). I suffer from a total lack of motivation, so I wanted to take it with a relatively clear head and see if I could have a productive day. Again, I hated the experience - this time because I found that it gave me focus and clarity (as it is supposed to) and some energy, but it didn't give me a jot of motivation. So I spent hours wandering around and fidgeting and having an introspective nightmare. Spudamore: my brother has a similar problem to you, and for him it is a useful tool. So perhaps it'd work well for you, having a genuine need. For people who are used to, or sometimes rely on, stimulants which come along with a mood boost, this is not it. It is functional. Just my subjective experience. My reaction may have been extreme because of my stim experience and tolerance. I'm not a big stim fan, but sometimes they help me to get things done or at least to get started. it's the positive mental shift that makes me get up and move. Not so much the energy or clarity.
  22. I've been doing a lot of stuff musically recently, trying very hard to collaborate with people whose work I love and respect but is outside of my genre. Very challenging. To take a break from that, I have busted out some pretty mental drum n bass type things. Have a listen if you feel like hearing something different. I warn you, though. It is likely not Drum n Bass in the sense of what most people would expect. Hell, it's probably not even drum n bass - well, if you compare it to anything that officially comes under that label in a music store, then you might as well say it's not even music I have been going completely nuts with beat splicing, because I have a hefty catalogue of breakbeats and conventional 4/4 rock beats which I made myself and rendered to samples. So I've been recycling my own shit. It's all original, for better or worse. https://soundcloud.com/tepalom/tepstep-rough-concept https://soundcloud.com/tepalom/make-way-for-the-quiet-rough There you go - these are rough and raw sketches, so don't expect slick production... or any production really. It's just experimenting.
  23. Thanks for listening, guys. Sorry, PH, I was just being stupid and attempting to make crude innuendos. Stinkmeat is exactly right: on my controller there's a little wheel which I use to modulate or bend pitches/frequencies/filters. I was in a 14-year-old state of mind on the day so for some reason I wanted to include some wanking humour in my description. Apologies for the poor taste and confusion. My thumb doesn't really hurt, and my knob is fine. All my music is made through a DAW (digital audio workstation). I have a keyboard, but it's really a keyboard controller, meaning that it doesn't make any sound by itself. It's a sturdy, heavy (20kg) 88 key controller which completely relies on a PC for sounds. Basically, I use an obscure software package (Renoise - a tracker which has a small but loyal following, mostly in Europe) which starts like an blank sheet for writing notes on. So, about seven years ago, I bought these two things and was ready to ROCK - and being far more enthusiastic than I am technical or logical, I was somewhat disappointed to find out that neither the software, nor the keyboard had anything in the way of sounds (aside from a couple of demo tracks which sounded like they were made in the 80s - and in fact may have been.....). Over the years I built up a library of free to download sound samples ( a single snare sound here, a single kick drum there) and some VSTs (virtual instruments) which were also ancient and thus freely distributed, and I got busy making sounds that were pretty awful, to be honest. I was so proud when I reached a level where I was able to make something like the most basic techno beat from 1992..... except that by this point it was like 2009. Realising that I wasn't exactly going to release a chart topping electronic super hit anytime soon, I gave up on trying to mimic sounds I had grown up listening to in my teens (Aphex Twin, Underworld, Orbital, Boards of Canada, Squarepusher, Future Sound of London, and many more), and started just playing around for no reason other than to amuse myself. It's just been in the last two years that I've really started to get my head around how this software works (yeah, I'm a slow learner - but in my defence it's not the most user friendly interface out there) and started making tunes for sheer fun and enjoyment. I've let go of trying to get crisp, amazing, modern SFX and slick smooth production, and just gone nuts with my own style of lo-fi weirdness. Also collaborating a bit, which has been really interesting. I was rapped (misspelling for bad pun) when an artist who I like used one of my concept sketches for his freestyle rap. Check out Mae Dali on Soundcloud if you're interested in unique, sometimes experimental, and truly old school freestyle hip hop. He's a very interesting person and very prolific with his sounds on Soundcloud. Almost everything he does is a free download - a true artist. Here's the track in which he used my music if anyone's interested: https://soundcloud.com/maedali/maealom

Thanks so much for pointing that out to me, Anodyne. It was almost surreal to see those things listed on the SAB store. I had to pinch myself.... seemed too good to be true. I've had many experiences with a wide variety of psychotropic plants because I have travelled extensively and thus have been able to take advantage of opportunistic moments. BUT, I've never tried Kratom and I've always wanted too!!

Wait.. what did I miss? Kratom and Salvia Divinorum are illegal in Australia and have been for ages, I thought? Sorry if I did actually miss something huge and obvious. I'm super excited to see Kratom for sale here! I'm just confused about their sudden availability.....
