  1. due to the server issues some folks could not get their tickets before the cut off date. Don't fret. Just go ahead and buy them by friday afternoon and then send me pm. Make sure to send pm!!
  2. sorry about the site problems we were under DDoS attack. Bad timing. But everything is OK now. Marquee is already up so the ground should stay dry. Starting with the rest of the set up today. Looking forward to seeing you all
  3. Can I please get an indication of who is interested in the sapo/kambo? This will not be a ceremony (as is often offered by practitioners), but simply an experience. Get your dots, have an experience, then use the energy to hike up the mountain ;) Practitioners usually charge $150 per person if done in a group ($200 single). A friend of mine will do it for $50 per person as a favour to me, but it would be nice to get a few people doing it so that it is worth his while to get up early on a saturday morning ;).
  4. Timetable (all activities are optional) Friday Arrive anytime after midday. Relaxed evening with chilled beats. Saturday 8 or 9am Sapo/Kambo for those who want to participate (do not have breakfast if you do!!). 11am Group hike to top of Mt Chincogan 3pm Andyamine Memorial (please think about your contribution to this and let me know) 6pm Communal dinner 8pm Techno Midnight - slightly quieter techno until we get told to turn it off ;) Sunday afternoon sometime - Nursery & gardens tour (smell & taste many rare and obscure plants) Relaxed evening with chilled beats. Monday Good bye by midday please. All times approximate and dependent on weather. There is plenty of spare time between any of the times listed (eg the hike only takes about 90 mins, the memorial is expected to be about an hour, etc)
  5. Time to start making travel plans! Our driveway is pretty rough, so best not to bring a super low sportscar. Most normal cars will be fine as long as you carefully navigate the potholes. If you're unsure then park in the first 100m after you turn off the bitumen (just reverse parallel park in between the trees). It's nearly 1km to the property though, so maybe you want to try the drive after all ;) For those who know the access track, the camping is at the bottom, so you will NOT need to navigate the steep uphill bit. Please use the nursery directions to find your way to the camp. They are on the shop website. There are storms forecast from wednesday onwards. That means it should be fine most of the time, but the ground might be wet from thundershowers. Water proof workboots or gumboots are highly recommended. The soil is mostly clay and rocks, so be sensible about shoes. No heels, no white, etc. The walking tracks are very overgrown with tall grass, so if you plan a hike, again please consider good boots or gumboots. Don't worry about the rain. Even if there is lots, we have a 15 x 7m marquee to keep us dry. But chances are it will just be a few thundershowers. These could miss us completely too. This is a working farm and there are many dangers: Machinery, unfenced creeks and ponds, goats with horns (fenced away, but you can play with them if you like), rocks, cliffs, snakes, toxic plants, spiky plants, working dogs, gates & fences that are hard to see at night, slippery gravel driveway, open fires, gas BBQs, spitting alpacas, etc. Enter at your own risk. There is very limited power. The generator will run lights and sound, and maybe a few mobile phone chargers. It won't be running all the time though, so forget about computers etc. Bring a torch or three. Please discuss your favoured camp location with whoever is on duty at the time. Some spots are adjacent to your car, some are within 20m of your car, others a bit further. I am trying to stop too many cars going into the main camping area so as to avoid accidents. We need to keep emergency access open, etc. Rodni, darklight or myself will help you find a good spot that suits your needs. Recycling and rubbish bins will be provided. Please make sure everything is left 100% tidy as any debris could end up being eaten by the animals and could kill them. Goats eat everything. We do not have enough chairs for everyone, so if you can bring some that would be great. You are welcome to explore the whole property by yourself, except the buildings/structures and the nursery unless accompanied by Rodni or myself. We'll make plenty of time for that if desired. Please note that there will be a guided walk to the mountain top on saturday morning/lunch sometime. There will be a timetable of a few activities posted separately. You do not need to come to any of these if you don't want to. The timetable is just so you know what's available. As this event is in memory of andyamine it would be nice though if everyone made time for the memorial part on saturday afternoon. We're expecting about 30 people, so this is a nice intimate group.

    Donating for SAB costs

we don't have charity status, so have to pay tax and fees on everything. Paypal might have shitty fees, but saves on admin costs.
  7. I don't have a house, so no houseguests ;) And the shuttle driver won't start till friday late afternoon. If I get everything set up in time I could probably pick you up late and you could camp here. Ideally it would be best if someone else can grab you as I am trying to not load myself up with extra duties and thursday is definitely much cheaper. There is also the FB group mullumbytes where you could ask for rides. I can definitely pick you up in town.
  8. The donations link is at the top right of the forum main page. Just near where the usual forums hosting donations button is. The link brings up a pop up window, so I can't actually post a separate link here.
  9. I may have a spare ram in the paddock if all else fails ;)
  10. I don't think that's necessary @Torsten Thought so. Gem, no one is stopping you from coming other than your guilt. I am not going to ban family members from attending just because you can't cope with them. The camp idea was primarily to continue christian's legacy, but also for people who could not make it to the funeral for whatever reason. Some because they didn't have time or funds, others because they felt they weren't close enough to be at the family event, and some because their presence would have been problematic. It's not all about you. For me the camp is mainly about being happy about having known christian. I've been sad for a long time and I hope that weekend will turn a corner. I am sure Caleb's cheery and colourful presence is going to help that We're more likely to play this version at the camp ;)
  11. I was actually trying to deal with this privately directly with gem as I am pretty sure gem doesn't want the full story in public, but I am happy to go ahead publicly if you prefer. I hate typing on the phone so will do that when I get home in a few hours. And Caleb. Christian / andyamine organised these camps so that old friends could catch up and new friends could be made. Gem might have missed that as I don't think she ever went to one. The camp is primarily for having fun and if you don't know Christian then you'll find out a bit about him on Saturday afternoon. This isn't a solemn occasion but a celebration of what 'some guy' did and stood for.
  12. Anodyne, the cookies are rather essential for the webstore to operate properly, so that's likely all it was. I am glad the fix was so easy.
  13. Haha, Caleb is great fun, so make sure to grab him if you have a spare seat!
  14. sounds like session or cache problems. Or maybe some security setting like refusing cookies. using a different device usually fixes that as caches and sessions are stored on the device, not on the server. I'll check now to make sure it's all functioning, so if i don't comment further it is fine. Also, just check that your shipping cost is zero for both options. if it isn't there must be a glitch related to your other item. .
  15. I am sure we can arrange that freakazoid. It's open on friday and monday anyway, but if you're only here for sat & sun then we'll work something out. I am sure others will want to have a look around anyway.
  16. will have a generator running into the evening for lights and music etc, but it probably won't reach into the camp area (only the social area and kitchen). And we may need to turn it off by about 1am (haven't asked the neighbours yet). I should have a few tiki torches sitting around somewhere and have plenty of lamp oil. I am open to all ideas, but probably best to see what the weather does before planning a hangi.
  17. yum yum. Hangi works well in dry or sandy soil. We're on pure clay. So if it rains (or rained the days before) you'd end up more with a boiled leg of venison than a roast ;) I have a very basic BBQ here. Also a 1m cast iron bowl fire pit. There are no fire restrictions, so feel free to come up with any roasting option you like ;) Not a lot of hardwood on the property as it is mostly camphor and younger soft-medium trees. I'll try and score some hardwood for roasting options. Can't do a camp wihtout marshmallows ;)
  18. Bigred, that's awesome! I think we're at 14 so far. plus a couple of helpers and myself, so not far off 20. Bound to be a few vegans though If you want to keep an eye on numbers you can look at the camp fee link. I originally put up 100, so substract whatever is still left from that and you have the attendees.
  19. Hey Gem, have you tried the kambo lately? I used to sell the sticks until I realised they lose potency rather quickly. I mean months (that's quick if people only buy once a fortnight ;) ). That was 10 years ago. Now they'd be flying off the shelf. I've got a couple on the way. or at least I hope so. South american suppliers can be so unreliable A local practitioner has also promised to help out with a stick if mine don't get here in time. So we SHOULD be alright. Mind you, I like to have as many back up options as possible ;) 39, ha! he barely looked 29! Thanks for the reminder of his birthday. I get so used to FB reminding me.
  20. To be able to keep tabs on numbers and contact details I've set up a hidden item in our webstore for the camping registration. You can't find the item by looking for it in the store. You can only get to it by using this link: http://www.shaman-australis.com.au/shop/camp_site_booking_fee_per_person_pr_2145.php Please register as soon as possible to allow us to start planning for numbers. As with any event, the sooner numbers are known the cheaper it is to get the required facilities. Please note that anyone is welcome, but must have purchased a registration. If you can't afford the registration then talk to us. Registrations are open till the 15th of april, but the sooner you can do it the better we can organise the event. I have also set up a donations section on the forums for anyone wanting to contribute to the camp above and beyond the registration fee. I have not set a goal yet as i am not sure how much we'll need. The toilets alone are $600 for the weekend (for 2 of them). Haven't looked into marquee prices yet. It would also be nice to have some excess to organise a shared meal. I am also working on having a kambo practitioner present for saturday morning. He/she won't be free, but heavily subsidised. This will be a good opportunity to earn your spots without paying the usual $150-$200.
  21. Ok folks, the date i set. Sorry it took so long, but I had to wait for a few other things to fall into place. Please start making your arrangements to come to Mullumbimby from the 20th to the 22nd. Camping on my property will be available from friday lunchtime through to monday lunchtime. If you want to stay around the area before or after then please make independent arrangements. if you can only make it for part of the time then please aim to be there for at least saturday afternoon. This is when we will take some time out to specifically remember Christian as a whole group. To avoid unpredictable numbers this event will be ticketed and there will be a $10 fee. This is simply so we don't get people announcing big groups, but then not turning up. The funds will also help with costs such as toilets, shelters, etc. I haven't quite worked out how to set this all up yet, but will provide details in the next few days. I'll also get some quotes and then set up a donations target. Not aiming for anything big, but just the essentials. It all depends on the group size too. Anyone who can't afford the $10 please discuss with me privately. The fire danger period will be finished by then, so a communal fire in the open paddock should be no problem unless there is unseasonal hot & dry weather. The property has a lot of long grass, so there can't be any fires in other areas, but you can use camping stoves etc.. A BBQ will also be provided for anyone to use. A tap with drinkable bore water is also available for refilling water bottles, etc. I'll provide more info about what's available in mullum and what is not in the next few weeks. The property is just 7mins drive from mullumbimby. It can be walked, but some of it is along a very fast and dangerous road, so best to arrange lifts to our laneway (which is still about 1km from the property). I'll add all new info to the first post for ease of reference.

    RIP andyamine

PD, we've been through this too many times already, but none of us are getting younger and there will be more and more. Some by accident, some intentionally, some due to poor health. They are all sad, but we need to celebrate their lives and their contributions. Come up for the camp out - it will be good.
  23. Having issues securing the venue in a meaningful way. Wouldn't be fun if 150 kids were running around at the same time. And the cost of prebooking are pretty high too. It's all changed and not serving the purpose it used to. So, I am looking at other options. There are various campgrounds that could do, but nothing where we can get exclusive use - especially not unless we commit a largish number. There are also a few who want to attend and don't want to camp rough, so some nearby accommodation would be good. So here is one option I've been toying with. How about my place? It's less than 5 mins from mullumbimby, lots of airbnbs around, hotel in town, no minimum or maximum numbers (within reason), plenty of flat land for camping, the option to hike up the mountain, etc. The neighbours will be cool with it as long as they get some notice and we're not ridiculously loud after midnight. There is a bus and a shuttle bus to airport, plus anyone wanting to extend their stay and make a holiday out of it might want to hang in Byron for a couple of days or head up the gold coast, or Nimbin, Border Ranges, etc. There would be some costs involved as we'd need to rent some porta potties and maybe a shower. Or maybe we can organise the use of the show ground shower block which is a 3 min drive. However traffic on our shared lane might be an issue with the neighbours, so probably best to keep everyone on site as much as possible. It would be nice to maybe get a marquee for shade and rain shelter. So yeah, we might need to organise a little kitty for that, but it wouldn't be much (less than any other option I looked at). Keep in mind that there is currently no house on the property so even simple things like a fridge, toilet, shower, etc don't exist. I still want to give people as much notice as possible, but also do this before the nights get too cold, so we're now looking at early to mid april. I'd like to hear any comments about the timing and location asap please so we can move ahead and set a date asap. I should explain that my property is a 180ac on the western slope of Mt Chincogan - the local Mullumbimby landmark. There are a few acres of grassy flats at the bottom which we can use and a track that provides a nice hike to the top of the mountain with stunning views to Byron and the ocean.

    Deleting albums

hmmm, I just went to delete the albums as I couldn't see any images in them, but when I deleted the first one it showed me lost of other albums that are empty (but shouldn't be). I m not sure what's going on there. Looks like a database problem. I will investigate in the next few days. maybe don't delete the other albums as I might be able to get the images back. I am also doing an upgrade soon so even if a database repair doesn't fix it maybe a rebuild for the new forum version does.
