  1. I love dancing, especially to some nice and twisty psy. Used to be all bout the punk rock and made fun of ravers. Now I have crossed into the dark side and love this psytrance shizzle! Oh and gimme some of that fuzzy synth deebee by pendulum- "is this bass really strong enough? - wah wah wawah wawawah-wawah" Hehe love it! Anyway I gotta say that I've definitely felt a sort of shifting energy on the dancefloor, I'd be drawn to places around the dancefloor and certain objects, a nice uv banner usually does the trick ;) I mean I guess it's all a matter of what you've taken but there is something about trance music that seems to unlock that trigger in you then bam! it's like waking up! To me the greatest thing is the feeling of liberation! It's hillarious like a great cosmic joke, that moving your body around to the beat, being creative with you're dance moves (even if you're pretty unco) and just looking like a raver tool is so fun! You realise that you may very well look stupid and you remember the times you laughed at tools waving glowsticks in front of their eyes - and now you are one of them - you are them you realise that just as you judge everyone else you are being judged also but it makes no difference because we are a collective whole, it's kinda like kicking yourself in the nuts - whats the point? and then you get some "woooar fffwoooaarrr shwiiiiwoooaahhh wah wah waaaahhhh roooowwwwoooaaaaarrrrrrr"! and space/time starts to fragment, your senses are split into layers and you start dissolving. yeah raves are fun

Not on the issue of this bust but the new anti-terror laws: “They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.” – Benjamin Franklin

    member psycho0 has died

This is very shocking news. I didn't know him in person but talked to him a bit in lab and was really keen to meet him on this camp. He definitely lead a full life, living by the motto of 'trying everything at least twice' so we can take comfort in that. He was a genuine and funny guy that will live on in our memories, 'nothing lasts but nothing is lost'. I agree with CS that death is not the end - it's only a great loss to us, the people he left behind.

    2005 crop circle images

There's also the electromagnetic anomolies present within the circles including electrical equipment cutting out when in the circle and altered states of consciousness ranging from happiness to irritation and headaches etc... Not to mention the incredible geometrical complexity of some of these circles that would need at least somebody co-ordinating it from above and definitely not made by a bunch of drunk or tripping people with boards. Plus theres the short amount of time it takes for the circles to form. Also If you look at the interweaving patterns of the flattened crop it is obvious that it cannot be done simply by crushing it with a bit of board. Then there's also all the consistent reports made by many people about coloured lights zooming past and all that jazz - that I'm sure you can disregard as there is no proof but you cannot just disregard the geometrical complexity of the patterns, the weaved nature of the effected crop and the electromagnetic anomolies that are present. It's an as of yet unexplained phenomenon and just because we don't have an explenation does not mean you should just stick to the 'humans did it' argument that is so obviously flawed upon closer examination of the circles. I've never been in a crop circle and therfore cannot say 1st hand weather it alters your consciousness or disables electric equipment but the reports are consistent about this and the photos speak for themselves - there's no fucking way these are physically man-made... On the other hand they may be phyiscal manifestations of the collective unconscious and in a way made by us humans - I'm not saying aliens did this but I'm sure as fuck that drunk prankster kids with boards and ropes didn't.

    Voluntary voting ?

    yep.

    Voluntary voting ?

I dunno why I said I abused her, it wasn't really that but it was a very angry monologue on my part explaining why I hate howard so much so it was pretty much me abusing howard more than her. And way to assume she was a 'close friend' - more like a school chum The point is she was not interested in politics at all and if she didn't have to she wouldn't have voted. Call it bullying if you must it was more of me just forcing my views down somebodies throat and they could take it or leave it - they could vote liberal just to spite me for all i cared. Again I will repeat myself she was very clear in saying that she didn't want to vote but because she had to she just went with 'what's working' she mentioned this before the "bullying". And re: Young liberals - WTF man? By stating my opinion of a political group I am bullying? Or I will abuse you and bully you if you're a young liberal .. um yeah probably. To me it's just funny that Young people could be conservative - conservativism is for old people comfortable with their lives that are afraid of change and hence want to 'conserve' their old ways and traditions. Young people should be for progressive change and improving society rather than enforcing the status quo. I always thought that being a youngster was about being rebellious and sticking it to the man - whether it's beneficial to society or not. That's why I consider the term 'young conservative' to be oxymoronic - based on my notions of what it is to be young. Re: Family 1st - okay if people didn't know about the preference system but WANTED to vote for FF in the first place then that's cool too - like you said their heart was in the right place. SO long as they WANTED to vote. If someone turns up to vote - that is not politically minded and would much preffer to stay home - and puts a 1 next to the party that, to them at that moment, sounds to be the right choice (based on the name) then that is sad. Better they stay home and have no voice (if they don't want one). Re: Eliteism, I'm not for it. I would preffer that the majority of society gets educated politically and cares about how their country is governed, but the sad truth is that the majority are ignorant and do not care (it would seem). It was incredibly Funny AND Sad when they had the "this person votes" clips in the election chaser. I am for people who genuinely WANT to vote to vote - be they educated or not, you're rollseyes emoticon suggests you believe im ignorant and i probably am in many cases but I WANTED to vote I wanted to have a say and hoped that my say would help get that fucker out of government. I don't care if every ignorant dumbass votes for who they want to vote for but I'm not for people who couldnt give a rats ass making a last minute decision based on a name or simply voting for the current party because that seems to be working - all because they are forced to vote. If you don't give a shit - stay home, If you want to have you're say - you can. Just my humble opinion - you may wipe you're arse with it now.

    Voluntary voting ?

I believe that if it is to be a true democracy then voluntary voting is a must. If people are too lazy to vote and just don't care there is the risk of it being hijacked by lobby groups but such is the will of the people - if they don't give a shit then it will be up to those who Do give a shit to decide - be they leftist activist types or conservative old farts or.. *shudder* the Young Liberals. To me a Young Conservative is the definition of oxyMORON My main gripe with compulsory voting is this, say some1 hates howard because of all his apparent lies and all that and in NO WAY wants to support howard, but they are uneducated about the prefrence system and just ignorant of politics generally they may indirectly vote him back into power. Such was the case of a certain lady that voted for Family First because well obviously they're for family values, and who isn't for that right? but of course they gave preferences to the liberal party. I'm sure this person wouldn't have voted at all if she didn't have to and that would be a lot better IMO. I also agree with what narayan said that volntary voting would eliminate the group of people who dont give a shit at all about politics but just vote for the currently reigning political party because it seems to be working good enough. I remember one animated discussion I had with a friend after the election when she said she had voted liberal... It was mostly me abusing her with her conceding that I had a much greater passion for politics than her (or hate of certain politicians rather). She said "see that's why you should vote and i shouldn't have to" That's why I firmly believe in voluntary voting, even if it will benefit the conservative side - it's about the principle! So be it that the ignorant masses don't vote and only the politically minded elite vote.

Listen to the lyrics and "read between the lines". All of them have a deeper meaning that might not be apparent at first. Schizm is a love song Ticks and Leeches - the usual rebellious i hate authority song Lateralus I think is directly about the psychedelic experience, pushing the envelope and going on a journey and witnessing new things: " reaching out to embrace the random reaching out to embrace whatever may come " The song mentions spirals a lot, and the drumbeat itself is the fibonacci sequence, 1,1,2,3,5 I think the beats go in that progression?? anyway that sequence when sketched out makes a spiral also, not sure what the significance is exactly, but i guess it's just about sacred geometry and its relation with nature and in fact all matter in the universe adhering to sacred geometry patterns. Haha at least thats what I see when uh under the influence - The flower of life pattern is everywhere! But to me the greatest song and most optimistic is reflection. Very obvious in meaning to those experienced with psychedelic induced ego death (or from meditation I guess): the source is bright and endless she resuscitates the hopeless without her we are lifeless satellites drifting ... i must crucify the ego before it's far too late i pray the light lifts me out ... so crucify the ego before it's far too late and leave behind this place so negative and blind and cynical and you will come to find that we are all one mind capable of all that's imagined and all-conceivable so let the light touch you so that the words spill through and let the past break through bringing out our hope and reason. It's really the lyrics, and the trance inducing repetitive drumming that makes it so great IMO. In fact if I had to chose a favourite song that'd be it, altho as mentioned before the Disposition, Reflection, Triad combo is one giant long piece really, I'd throw Lateralus in there too, so to get what I'm all about listen to that last section! It was incredible when I saw them live, after The intensity that was Lateralus (the bass really got to me and i was feeling pretty ill) it segued(sp?) into the very tranquil song dispostition, allowing for some rest which I was very greatful for, and then the intensity began building up again finishing off with two (or three maybe?) drummers hammering away with triad! best night of my life! and I wasn't even on anything - The music itself just has the power to alter you, and to inspire you.

There's no REASON for liking the aforementioned bands, it's just about your own personal emotional connection with the music - either you enjoy it or you dont. It's not like someone said hey listen to tool they are great for this and this reason" and i thought hey that's a good reason. Also yeh, ditto with hellofromthegutter, Try listening to them on a journey, I've had many a great expereience myself.

    God is a DJ

There's some cool new tunes on the radio reminiscent of that 70's disco vibe that i cant help but dance too. I like the whole funky disco thing as much as i hate to admit it, but hey what u got against prog rock? :D I fucken love it! - um.. my knowledge of prog rock is limited to led zepplin, tool and mars volta (not sure if the last two fit in that category) While we're on the topic, can anyone recommend some good older prog rock (and newer stuff too i suppose) I just love any sorta music that evolves over 7-15 minutes and not yer average intro, verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge, verse, chourus, end 2 minute pop song crap. so lets say prog-anything not necessarily rock... uh any suggestions?

Yeah I'm sure the bastards are charging you for ingesting them themselves. I mean they're a hassle to eat and I'm sure the mental trauma they suffered from the mushroom showing them the error of their ways needs some kind of monetary compensation.

    Mushroom experience poll

That is the biggest load of dogs bollocks that picking something growing naturally would be illegal, could u just fein ignorance and claim u had no idea they're 'magic' and u only picked em cuz they look cool and turn blue and grow in cow shit and that's just cool in itself, i mean cow shit! - who wouldn't want to grab anything that grows off that!? ...Anyhow back to your poll - I felt a bit limited with the responses i could give - in that I've had negative experiences but they were definitely important learning experiences - hence they had a strong impact on my life but not at all in a negative way - but just looking at the fact that a negative experience had a strong impact one would likely think it was also a negative impact. This was all on my holidays in Holland of course.

    dutch reality tv

Haha how incredibly un-politically correct! - Well at least in OUR country! gotta love the dutch! can't wait to see some kinda fucked up acid porn. um how exactly would the US copy this? i suppose replace all the cool shit with Alcohol, Tobacco, Valium and Viagra, God knows what would happen if someone sparks up a joint - there'd probably be the usual overly aggressive DEA raid ending up with people killed as is the norm over there - http://blogs.salon.com/0002762/stories/200...WarVictims.html
