Man Eats Laetiporus gilbertsonii (Sulfur Shelf), Blogs about it

I laughed so much at that one, thanks for sharing! -
Good job, nice write up! A side note of caution... A study last year found ammonia levels to be higher using the volcano than when smoking the same dodgy "street" weed. I don't want to jump to any conclusions from one study but I think it's good to be aware of these things. SWIM has started making sure the gear has a few seconds of vaping at least (hopefully to get rid of most of the ammonia if there was any) before putting the bag on.

She might do better with help from someone such as counselor or therapist or someone else. Lots of information on the topic could help too. 2002___Smith___A_review_of_the_published_literature_into_cannabis_withdrawal_symptoms_in_human_users.pdf

5HTP will have an effect on emotional affect and cognition. Many people report good things from using 5HTP. As for the whole balance thing, who knows really what is balanced or not, unless speaking metaphorically..

Fruiting with subs can be unpredictable. Inoculation of as many different wooded areas can be more fruitful. In some patches, they might fruit one year, and then not be seen at all in the next few. While other patches fruit consistently each year. It might be a bit late to inoculate to expect fruit this season though, what do you think? I have a hunch that this year will be a good year!

SWIM tried unsuccessfully getting subs to grow on fresh pine bark. But strophs seem to love it.

SWIM experimented with growing myc on hessian (from a piece of myc) and it seemed to grow all year round. It just needed to be kept moist.

Hi, I wanted to share a couple of photos I took today. I really like the shot with the bee..

I found her ideal man...

Cool man, very nice. Hopefully some of the pollen from your flowers might make its way over my way. Do you get many bees?

What an awesome looking garden!

I bought it maybe 4 or 5 years ago when it was a similar size to what it is now. It met with an unfortunate "accident" and the top was cut off with about 3 inches poking out of the ground. What you see there is a pup, about 4 or 5 years old..

Nah, actually it was in semi shade until about noon and then it got the full harsh sun right through the afternoon. None of my cacti liked that spot much. I repotted and moved them around to a spot where they get full sun from about 9am to 2pm and shade the rest of the time. They seem to be thriving now. The sun isn't as intense earlier in the day.

Yeah these are the first flowers. They stalled for months after buds poked out back in October 08, then I noticed activity about 12 days ago, and the rest is history..

Mealy bugs were attacking a potted fern I have and I got rid of them in a couple of days with a product called Ecopest Oil (I'll leave the company name out but it wouldn't be hard to find I'm guessing) which is essentially watered down paraffin oil. Someone else might be able to correct me but I think mealy bugs kill plants slowly. I only say this cause they were attacking my fern for almost a year before I got off of my butt to do something about them. Hope you don't have any casualties!

Thanks guys. It was in semi low light, on a window sill, for many years. Growing very slowly. It's only just gone out to get some sun in about the last 2 months, hence the pupping. He's not as etiolated as his mate. I'll see if I can get a recent photo of it if you'd like to see an even more severely etiolated loph. Ace, please try it with your cacti. They're great to watch aren't they? I'm gonna do another gif animation with a flowering san pedro. But this time I'm going to tell my friend's friend to use a tripod rather than fudging the angle of the photo. I hope it will be smoother. I just hope the flowers don't stall again, it's been about 4 months so far since they first showed buds.

Hi there, A friend of a friend took these photos while on holiday and sent them to me... and I made a gif animation with them. This etiolated L. willi is at least 5 years old and began pupping 18 days ago and here's the progress so far..

Rain water? What's that? But seriously, thanks. I'll fill a couple of buckets and let them sit for a while then try that out.

If the problem is from mains water use, how might someone get around that problem t s t? Filter? Thanks

Aaaaaah I see!

This guy's P. viridis seemed to grow quite large in only 4 months... I wish I knew his secret!

Sounds like fungus. Maybe some type of rust. I did a quick google and found someone on another forum saying that psychotria are prone to rust in warmer temps. It's been pretty hot lately. My psychotria plants are smaller than what yours is and I sprayed them with fungicide about 3 or 4 weeks ago and they showed no ill effects from the spray at all. What I thought was some sort of fungal leaf curl was actually white moth catapillar sticking the new leaves together with their silk (which retarded the leaf growth, arrgh). I'm glad I sprayed them now that you brought this up, heaps of plants in my yard suffer from rust.

Thanks. I don't think they were SAB stock, unless the vendor is associated with SAB somehow. Not sure, but my neighbour is very happy with how they are growing!
