bringin' the lophies in fa winter...

yep ive had plenty of success with increasnig growth rate via longer light hours and intense artificial light.. however ive since changed light regime to 16hr on dual spectrum and the growth rateis a lot slower then at 24 on 10 off with hps... and i noticed a more grey blue colour, however it was accompanied by a firming off which defnately signalled positive growth... Apoth- where have u seen bigger loph farms? u must be hard to impress. peace ***E***

  7. well looks like our luck has changed, if i found out who stole my cacti right now id probably kiss them !!! My gf entered into some crazy random competition with student airfares on campus the other week and we just got a phone call to tell us that we have won !!!! an all expenses payed trip for two to thailand with a 8 day gecko tour of the northern mountains region we are so incredibally stoked!!!! In the 12 day tour u get to stay with tribal villages and in ours we get to visit temples and forgotten cities... so we are lookign at saving up and travellign around of our own accord once the tour is over.. best of all, most of it is free!! wooohoooooo
  8. we are going to put the trip off til we are healthy and fit enough to do it properly.. in the meantime we will be researching, planning and saving.... We are still riding the ellation :D Id say we are going to extend it for as long as possible and maybe even do nepal or peru at the same time... yeeeehhhhaaaaaa!!!!
  9. hey i think this is a bloody brilliant idea.. i dont usually have much cash for trades and so forth so i am always bartering in trade.. would love to see it done this way.. hey it would be ideal if you could have 'private' auctions where u can screen the bidders/audience so as to have certain privacy and quality control... however i guess u never really know until you have met someone face to face... brilliant idea. do it! peace ***E***

  12. i have recieved an email from a friend who told me he had had even better results today after trying the following combination: 4 medium sized kratom leaves, a fist full of mate and c.edulis, in a pot, boil on low heat for 20min after initially steeping with boiling water... chew a couple of fresh leaves of kratom, 1 small fist full of c.edulis.... wash down with tea, apparently he was extremely happy and said it was somewhat uplifting and euphoric with a mild sense of inebriation... he said being a passenger in a moving car on dusk provided somewhat ellating stimulus resulting in a very content state of wellbeing.... He also stated that each experience with c.edulis and mate seemed to have a very 'social' nature, and that it was even more socially enjoyable then sharing a smoke... positive results id say [ 16. 13. whilst travelling recently i happened upon a country where utilising mother natures gifts was considered a 'necessity' rather then some kind of absurd illegality.... Whilst in this blissfull state of freedom we were experimenting with furthering the state. During this experimenting phase we stumbled accross some amaizing synergy that has left me quite clear minded, euphoric and pleasently stimulated... We combined a fistfull of narrow leaf C.edulis (strain 4) with a fist full of freshly harvested mate' in a large saucepan and boiled for about 1/2hr... then strained the liquid into 4 cups, placed the leaf material into a coffee plunger, and continuosly sat, drank and tlked, filling the coffee plunger with boiling water for top ups... The tea session lasted about an hour and all four participants were left in an inspiring and quite potent state of blissfull comfort. philosophical prose flowed freely and with a certain fluid lubrication.. We have since trialled both constituents on their own and found nothing as potent and interesting as the combination... One of the members of the tea session noted pupil dilation and a very 'clean mdma' sensation (although very subtle)... It was a truly enjoyable and rewarding experience and i would reccommend fellow travellers frequent this state of freedom whenever they can get visas... peace, happy travelling ***E*** [ 16. Saturday 14th May Sydney Meet

an awesome day had by all, got there at about 11, went straight to the books and plants and snapped up some nice plants...could have spent a lot more but they were a little bit too pricey on some stuff for me to take it further, we got: Brugmanisa suavelans bifloresensce (sp) White 4$ each Taebernaemontana ....(will check tomorrow) 7$ Coffee arabica, nice size, cheap 2$ each Acorus greminas 4$ There were lots of goodies, i sort of wish id spent more time and money there but we were on a budget of both... and more ill add later upon checking the box... We then went and observed a large narrow leaf khat bush/tree, plenty of interesting and obscure medicinals, 4 different types of ephedra, 3 different types of brugmansia, and plenty of others. all and all a very rewarding day, but in my opinion the highlight was definately meeting wandjina and little Maya, two beautiful creatures definately not of 'this world'.... and the artwork i got in trade.. absolutely amaizing!!! my girlfriend was absolutely beside herself with its beauty... Its always great to meet new ethno heads, and smogs and apoth are really decent guys, glad to have met you and look forward to future trading and collaborations... dunno about the pub of choice tho, it was a little dodgy peace, and next time maybe there will be a few new faces. ***E*** [ 15. Saturday 14th May Sydney Meet

from the article in the paper i was thinking that it was both the gardens and friends of the gardens, but on the website it says 'growing friends'. the plant list looks like most of the plants are from 'growing friends'. [ 14. May 2005, 14:54: Message edited by: min(E)rval ]

    Saturday 14th May Sydney Meet

oh yeah and the sale is on in the maidens theatre :D p.s: "We’ve planted 17 pots of a white Lotus cultivar (Nelumbo nucifera ‘Shiroman’) in the Koi pond next to the Oriental Garden, and there are various cultivars in other ponds (they should flower soon). " the lotus effect p.p.s ".There are a few Dragon Blood Trees (Dracaena draco) in the Royal Botanic Gardens. The biggest is a hundred year old specimen on a lawn on the west side of Farm Cove. Also a younger specimen just in the middle of the walk around the Cove. It looks like an open umbrella with grayish spear-shaped leaves. " dragons blood link [ 14.
