Alchemuus is an "imaginary" tale, telling the story of a psychiatrist who attempts to treat a young man who has a pathological religious fascination with finding a peaceful and content mental state. After the failed use of prescription antidepressants and anxiolytics, the young man utilises psychoactive substances in an attempt to develop a healthy mental state, while fighting against a corrupt team of Governmental mental health "professionals" which do all that is in their power to resist the movement by the man; imprisoning him against his will and forcing the administration of contraindicated antipsychotics to "silence" him. In the man's mind, there is no doubt that he is being unfairly and unethically treated by an Orwellian type movement who intend to supress his rights to religious Sacraments (of the endogenous and natural type), free thought, artistic expression and scientific experimentation. (To be continued)

*** online poll: drug use and mental illness ***
Alchemica replied to faustus's topic in Chill Space
Thanks for putting in the time to put this survey together. Great idea. Personally, I'm going to maintain that we Shaman-Australisers all just are genetically predispositioned to "whatever" in the first place. It's the only logical explanation... or something like that. Any chance of including an "eye-colour" question to verify my "atypicalness" theory? Keep up the good work. -
Good topic - my deepest sympathy goes to all who have been unfairly treated by the Australian Laws of Idioticity. A friend's story involved a disco biscuit, anxiolytic fluid, half a tablet of a neuroprotective SSRI, glowsticks, loads of miscellaneous supplementary antioxdants and neuroprotectants... Outcome: 6 months of hell and facing a Major Indictable Charge, loss of all his money he had ever earned to get a lawyer (and he was refused legal aid, 'cause he saved all the money he ever earnt doing Night-Shift to try and cover Uni...). Result: 1 x pissed off member of Society... Imagine the looks of the Boys and Girls in Blue when the friend started to say "It's Vitamin C, S-adenosyl L-methionine disulfate tosylate, 5-hydroxytryptophan etc..." (...and it was - Radelaidian Fuzz are really messed in the Head). Unfortunately the anxiolytic and oxytocin release prevented him from shutting his mouth, so he spontaneously obliged to questioning... Luckily, he had consumed enough Vit. XTC before interception to make the stay in the cell overnight "entertaining"... If only he got to keep his glowies! I think the friend ended up losing the plot, or joining some hippy commune along with some weird forum site... not totally sure anymore!

The future of Australian water-ways after contamination with antipsychotics
Alchemica posted a topic in Chill Space
News-flash: Australian oceans are soon to be found to be rendered toxic by the masses of antipsychotic agents being leached into water-ways. "The renal excretion of antipsychotic agents into the water-ways is likely to cause a new generation of marine animals that are lazy, fat and don't give a stuff about anything eg. zombified marine life. Now that's cruel! Fishermen are concerned that fish will become too lazy to get caught..." This is my atypically strange sense of humour speaking but could it happen? -
They called it "Mellow Yellow"... we'll call it Sponge-Bob... EDIT: I've always wanted to see a Shaman-Australis peer-review journal system for reporting hypothetical experimental accidents, which of course, were always occuring in the third person who has "got absolutely no idea" anymore ... Can we establish the "Journal of Australian Amateur Hypothetical Neuropsychopharmacology" into this forum? ...and to keep everyone happy how about the "Journal of Amateur *Oh My God*, that's some Funky Sh*t", too! Then we can all responsibly incinerate the verbose and monotonous Loser Journals of J. Med. Chem and The Lancet... They were so back in the year 1999...

Thanks for putting that up for everyone to see! Very cool!

Conspiracy, synchronicity, the web and "The Movement"

This is one for printing out and grabbing a Highlighter... I'll get back to you when I can get a good answer! Interesting ideas and definitely worth some consideration. -

Just one of those reportings to "Higher" Authorities that all crazy scientific experiments (you know, back in the day...) were safely stowed away in the overhead compartment...

As for today, I am an "undercover ethics investigator for the AMA" . Unethical malpractise will be forwarded to the "AMA" and appropriate "action" taken. Defending "Free Minds" with the "Sound of Silence", or something like that. Help me out, if I start to "Shout Out". "...needed a little time to wake up, wake up..." (Stand by Me - John Lennon)

(To the style of "The Castle" movie) "...whatdya know 'bout CTO's?" and where do you get a free Queen's Counsellor from these days? "'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life...Trying to make ends meet...You're a slave to money then you die... I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down...You know the one that takes you to the places, where all the joy I earn resides" - The Alchemist modification of Bittersweet Symphony - The Verve ....How many Nurse Ratchet's are there these days?

I think the outcome was sort of ok in the end - thanks to everyone for standing by me in the past. I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for having a group of open, friendly, accepting and atypical individuals to talk with! Peace Out!

Thanks Hunab!

The future of Australian water-ways after contamination with antipsychotics
Alchemica replied to Alchemica's topic in Chill Space
LOL, thanks! That looks just like what I was imagining. -
I second that Twix... in the hypothetical tense if any psychiatrist enquires...

Amineptine seems especially interesting in its reported actions as an oxytocin-promoting stimulant antidepressant... a few more hugs and some DAT-inhibition does sound like a real winner! The cocaine-analogues synthesised from arecoline also look interesting. I have some cool papers around the place that I'll get and add to this post when I remember to.
