theoretical test for maoi in bridgesii?

Here's a table showing amounts of tyramine in different tricho's: http://www.clearwhitelight.org/hatter/alklist.htm Pachanoi and bridgessi look ok, but peruvianus was tested at >50%

theoretical test for maoi in bridgesii?

Smoking rue or caapi extract seems to give a much shorter inhibition time, and so maybe, there is less risk experimenting this way? Atleast the typical noticable effects last for about 1/2 hour but im not sure if the inhibitory mechanisms are still operating silently in the background. So, theoretically, how much tyramine is needed to bring on a hypertensive crisis?

    want to grow Cordyceps sinesis...

Thanks, found this at the shroomery http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat-N...ber-560821.html Im happy to just farm the mycelium, but yes it would be fun to try and fruit the infectious kind. I think most commercial growers use silkworm substrates but some use soy based products. C.Militaris fruits straight from grain. You can buy the whole fruit bodies and yes they are pricey. But I wonder if commercial growers allow the spores to develop?

Perilla frutescens. Might have a look for seeds or plants...
  6. What are my chances of finding Cordyceps spawn or culture?

    Japanese immunity plum?

Yep,apparently ume alkalinizes the blood, lymph and body fluids. Alkaline blood is said to be more resistant to microorganisms. Umeboshi, miso and reishi tea/soup sounds good . 100g of umeboshi costs around 4 bucks from the asian markets. I might go and check if they stock shiso leaves...

    Japanese immunity plum?

Ive been told there is a dried and salted(?)japanese plum, sold in asian supermarkets, with excellent immunity boosting properties. (apparently alot more effective than shitake mushrooms) Anyone know the name of this plum?
  10. Have tried this a few times as a tea, and soaked in wine. ZIP, even with large amounts. Tried again a few hours ago with an old batch, heaped tablespoon, crushed and steeped in warm vodka. Extremely bitter but no effects. Maybe there is some sort of synergy with corydalis.... [ 20. August 2004, 22:49: Message edited by: Felix ]
  11. yep, weird stuff. I thought I had once read something about mail restriction on plants to vic. but have found nothing on google. Also have never had this happen before so, beats me....
  12. Are there any quarantine restrictions on mailing live plants to victoria? Several packages of perfectly legal plants sent on different occasions never made it to the would-be recipient. Then, mail sent to me from victoria from the same person days later was returned to the sender by a postal van accompanied by a council car!? Mail said "no such address" even though address was correct. Blacklisted for some unknown...???

    Diplopterys cabrerana just arrived

$3000...wow. I had no idea how elusive this plant was- I am now sure I misread somewhere that there were quite a few of these plants in australia and heaps in the US. Wishful thinking.

    pedro/MAOI

Throw in some traditional maoi admixture Not really scientific but it would work.
