  1. i went through a stage of going from religion to religion not to find the right one for me, because i am incredibly comfortable with my beliefs that dont seem to fall under a name, but to understand them so i dont start believing all those stereotypes from people who think they know all about everything, including religions they have had nothing to do with. i, as many people, was brought up good ol roman catholic. among the religions i visited were, born again Christians, budism, judaism, mormon, JW etc

JW was the most impressive organization/religion of them all. the whole organization run more like a massive international company then a religion. they know there target audience and are successfully grow every year and with a huge range of merch. the speakers know how to talk to you, how to read from the bible and keep your attention and how to relate that story back to your own life. real clever sons of bitchs ;) by doing this you start to want to hear more, like how a fortune teller starts telling you about your past and how it relates to your future, you want them to tell you the whole story. you think of JW, you think of a lil minority religion, but the reality is, that they are huge and most people have no f'n idea. they have alot of power, they know how to manipulate people for the good of the religion, and how to explain themselves when they fuck up.

the other thing that impressed me was how well they know there shit. they know more then just every page of the bible back to front, they also have understanding of it. most priests have nothing on your average 25+ yr old JW. the priest may remember the words and can make up a meaning on the spot for you, but JW understand what the messages are, or atleast one interpretation of it. i used to have an awesome time researching passages and finding ways to flip them into a contradicting way, so that one passage says this but then why does this other passage mean the opposite? then the clever bastards would usually say something along the lines of, "yes, i can see how you could interpret that one sentence like that, but if you read the paragraphs before that, then it's pretty obvious that it didnt mean that, it ment this" and sure enough, they got me and i was back were i started from. we both had a great time and it would usually finish with, "so i'll see you at kingdom hall this sunday?" to which i'd reply, "probably not". not the most fun religion i've been to, but they definitely have all the answers, as in, you'll never hear them say, "i'm not sure" when it comes to religions questions.

Judaism and born again were the most fun, but the barmitsfa i went to had amazing food, so clearly, wins hands down. and the Rabi was awesome. funny dude

my missus used to me JW, so i know a poop load about them from her too. mind you, i went thru my religious test drive stage long before i met her, to clear up any confusion.

    EDIT:

i saw lofty mention about how there's sexual abuse, well, thats pretty much right on the mark. it's a religion that demonizes (littereally) homosexuality, asking questions that may affect the organization negatively, any relationship outside the religion, especially other religions, anything slightly demonic including all horror films, most heavy metal regardless of the message, books, movies or tv shows relating to super natural themes, (twilight!hahaha) as well as any physical contact between sexs before marrage, including sex, kissing and even holding hands. they are taught about the religion in such a "you know as much as me and we know everything sort of way, that because they think they have the answers, they have no need for questions. because everyone knows what everyone else knows, everyone trusts everyone else. researching about JW on the net is especially bad, and will make bad things happen to you because there is so many sites written by ex-JW explaining there lives and why they left the religion. they are taught in such a way that questioning anything is not as second nature to them as it is to you and i. because they are only taught one thing also due to the fact that they do not interact with people of other religions on a regular basis on purpose, they dont know better, and act towards other religions how we do to them; act like we know everything about them without actually knowing about them and not want to know any better.

also, like priests, the elders are starved of physical contact as they cannot marry there for, no contact. and like a plant starved of light, they reach out for any source they can get. it's almost not there fault, you starve anyone of anything they naturally desire, they will want it more; food, contact with people, friends, relationships, physical contact, sex etc. children are not only the most innocent and naive, but weak in every possible way.the elders spend alot of time with these kids so there desires and will power are pushed to the limit, like holding a piece of meat infront of a hungry dog and telling him not to eat it, to stay. it is disgusting and terribly sad, and dont any of you people think i'm for pedophilia, but it still isnt entirely there fault.

most people would say, they have free will, why do they choose to stay in a position that prevents them from there human desires and make them susceptible to doing horrible things like pedophilia? the fact is they dont. why do people stay in jobs that pay well but do the same thing? because they feel that is the the right thing to do. that being in that high position is what you are supposed to do and that they are very privileged to be in that position. everyone around them encourages this way of thinking, and everyone is happy to see them in that position. i had a lesbian friend who didnt realise her sexuality, but still had boyfriends and had sex with tem. everyone told her how lucky she is to be with the amazing men she was with, however she never enjoyed the experience and was so confused why. everyone tells these elders they are the greatest people because of who they have become, yet there soul tells them otherwise ald craves all the things they are not allowed to have but they not only dont know why, but often dont even realise what the problem is, in the same why my lesbian friend didnt know why she hated all her experiences with men. these elders should know better but they dont, just like priests. the difference between priests and elders is that everyone knows when a kid gets molested by a kid and the media makes sure everyone knows that not only is this wrong, but that this does happen amongst the religion. in JW it's covered up too well. and everyone is afraid to learn about them and be involved with them. if the media got in there, they would say they are all pedo's or that parents are willingly giving there children to these child molesters. when it's not all elders that go thru with the act, just a few. the fact is that these people are sick. simple as fucking that. sick people. maybe instead of saying that these people are wrong, someone should do something about it. i mean it is a fkn screwy friggin religion dont get me wrong, but the morel is: they're human like us, and we shouldnt believe second hand info like it's fact, research the fk outta it first!

    END EDIT

there was also the time i did go to kingdom hall, and on there equivalent to easter mass, and got smashed drunk on my plum wine, but thats a story for another day...

  2. i know i owe appleseed a plant, but do i owe anyone else any plants? i remember there was someone but cant remember :S please pm me. please be honest guys ;)

    thanks guys!

  3. ts t: do you think liberally wetting the her material with water first, allow to soak over night then soak in alcohol would be a good aproach then?

I've noticed that if acetone is added and mixed with a thick, water based syrup made of substances insoluable in acetone, the syrup becomes thicker and thicker. I assume the acetone is extracting the water from the syrup thus making it thicker and thicker. I hope using ethanol in the way i described in the first paragraph does not result in this happening.

Which leads me to think that if a full spectrum extraction is desired, each solvent should be used one at a time, be that acetone, alcohol or water.

  4. would have been better to do the water and alcohol extract seperately as sometimes a solvent mixed with water will not extract as much. E.g. If there is enough water in acetone, then it wont be able to extract any salvinorin even tho there is ace tone present. Adding ethanol or acetone to cactus tea will percip out protiens. I know there not alks, but its an e.g of how a mixture of solvents can reduce the soluability of many components and how its better to soak in one solvent, dry soak in another solvent, dry etc

  5. hmmm... if you cut the stock on a diaganal and cut the graft flat, i wonder how many grafts you coud get on the one stock... hmmm...imagine a heap of lophs up the side of a pedro or something! that would be awesome! it woud be a pain to clamp onto the stock, but there would be a way. :D

  6. hahaha it's not just me who needs to do the maintaining tho, its the new owners. I plan to sell these eventually. My wooden changa pipes (as apose to bamboo, wich i know is still wood, but you know what i mean..) i usually use a special wax as the sealant for the wood. And when i sell these pipes, part of the agreement apon buying is that you will look after it. This includes waxing it twice a year or when it looks dull.

The wax i formulate soaks into the wood quite well. It starts off dull for the 6-12months, but with regular use it gets shinier and shinier. Almost as if, the more you involve the pipe in your life the more it shows it's happy for that. Other polishs maybe better in other ways then my wax, but i like this idea of it giving back to its owner :)

  7. just try it out on a small amount man, easy as that. If it doesnt wor you havent lost much. Soak your material, filter out solids, evap the liquid with a fan in a well ventilated area. I believe the worst that can happen from metho is you will feel nausious for an hour or to, maybe boff, but nothing deadly. Your choice if thats worth it, personly i'd prob give it a crack if thats all i had and i was super eager to extract and try something.

If its still a gummy mess and you want something hard and scapeable, get a large sealable container, around 8 or more liters, put in a bucket of of damp rid in there with a mesh ontop of the bucket. Put your lil dish of sludge ontop of the mesh. The damp rid will dry the air in the box and everything will dry propperly.

If you wanted to get it faster, cut a hole on the side of the damp rid bucket and install a CPU fan there. Position it so it SUCKS the air thru the damp rid xtals and blows air back into the box. If its set to blow it may blow damp rid xtals up and into your product.

This should take a few days to a week to cracker dry anything. And no heat or fancy machines needed ;) cost is pretty small for this lil beauty too.

If it doesnt dry in time, try stirring your extract once a day to help it along.

Try not to let solvents dry in the dry box. This includes your metho so let it dry in the normal air first under a fan or something. The reason is that the box and damp rid and everything absorbs smells and will make everything you put in it smell like solvent.

Hope thats helpful for ya ;)

  8. teljkon: no biggy man, i didnt use silicone to seal up anything. it's realy messy and as you said, well toxic. i used Cyanoacrylate glue. it's realy inert and once those iritant fumes are disapated, the glue doesnt burn easily, doesnt seep in deeper in the wood, doesnt keep releasing fumes forever, dries hard, dries realy quickly and if the pipe gets realy dirty, is solvent safe if dried within 24 hours IME. pitch would be good to get the organic sticker on it, but most of the advantages i listed wont be aplicable i'm guessing. thanks for the feed back tho.

  9. the dremel tool is going to be our best friend. there are battery operated ones and mains power ones. i have both and both have pros and cons. battery operated is heaps easier to use. it feels more natural in the hand however, it runs out of battery eventually, of course. this is anoying but you do get a good few hours out of it. if you choose this option i recomend getting a genuine dremel if you choose this option because it's built well and the batery life is great. the corded one is better in every way exept its heavier and more awcward to hold unless you have the cable thingy that atatchs to the end of it to give a smaller, more confortable grip. this makes things a lil easier, but you still have a great big cable that is heavy and annoying. personally i prefer the cordless one, when the battery is run out, i know i've spent too long in the shed and its time to pack up. try to get a pack with lots of metal bits in it like this one. they cut realy well unlike stone ones and dont wear down so fast so they keep there shape. they also cut ALOT faster wich means you get stuff done faster and safer because you dont need as much pressure to cut through the wood.

chisels are dificult to use because ou need so much pressure to use them. the more pressure your muscles need to exert, the less control they have. they also are very dificult to use across the grain or on the end grain unlike a dremel with a good bit on it. for these reasons chisels are too hard for this young man, ye of little skill... :(

and hand saws and rough files are also a must. you can get your work to roughly the right shape then dremel the wood to get finer details in there then sand it with sand paper to do the final finish.

if your starting with large bits of wood jigsaw is another must to get it to a realy rough shape of the final product.

any more help just ask :)

  10. here is my latest creation. i still need to finish her shoes, but more or less finished. her name is Miss Chang A Pipe. she is strictly for changa. she is made from bamboo grown on holy ground. not because i wanted it from that location specifically, but the priest was doing some gardening and cut a heap down and i thought, hey, i could make a pipe outa that

    0sgrM.jpg

her dose has been carefully hollowed out between nodes to become the stem of the pipe.

    i01qS.jpg

her lips are red gum that has been soaked in food dye to make her lips redder. i hope they dont leach onto the fingers. her eyes are again paua shell. this shell has been polished and shaped in a particular way untill the pupils were the correct shape and size.

    hope you like it guys

ps i'm sorry about the image size again :(

  11. i found these tiny half rice grain sized kritters that ooze blue goo up and down the beachs between frankston and seaford and most likely beyond. They were too small to take a pic of with my phone at the time, but still cool. Their rare but they do exist here too. The only prob is i only found them walking home drunk from parties when i was 17 or so, so no one belirvrs me! Hahaha i tried to take one home and keep it alive but, obviously, it died. It would have been about this time too.

  12. ok so this is my latest creation. he's a pipe. i'll start with his big ol head. i'm not totally sure what type of wood it is other then a hardwood. i'm thinking some kind uf gum, but cant be sure. i found it in a fire wood pile at my work and the moment i saw it, i knew it was too good a piece of wood to be burnt. his features are hand calved from his baggy eye lids, his lil nose to his spiky hair and his teeth. some of these features are then burnt to give those defined black lines on his face.

his eyes are genuine new zealand paua shell my aunt brought back with her. these have been further polished untill the correct colours have been found as the colour changes as you polish thru different layers of the shell.

in his mouth he bites down on his large red tounge. it is glued in with Cyanoacrylate glue wich comes out a lil as he drewls. this glue was chosen as it seems to be the most inert, hard wearing, predictable, and most importantly least toxic glue and seems to have a high tolerance to high temps. it also cures very clear.. most of the time. his tounge is made from one of my red gums we cut down. it was going to be fire wood and sure, it has cracks in it, but i think his beautiful tounge has been put to much better use. the cracks have been filled in with Cyanoacrylate glue. this has cured mostly clear so the cracks look like there still there in normal light, however they will not acumulate dust and oils that may hurt him or make him ugly. it twists and bends out of his mouth makeing the stem and mouth piece of the pipe. the tounge also has a wonderful bamboo end-grain inlay. (an old chopstick :P) originally the tounge was to face the other way; with the bamboo facing down. the bamboo was the only thing i could find that cound be easily inlayed to cover the channel the smoke travells thru. after playing around with it, i realised how beautiful the inlay looks, so i flipped the tounge the other way, so it could be seen. and yes, every time you have a hit, your makin out with him. XP

all these wooden parts have been sanded down from 40git sand paper all the way up to 1200 grit (for car paints) then metal polish was used. this polish is first removed with a soft cloth then as removed with a high speed rotary nylon brush. finnally it is oiled with my special aromatic oil blend with hinds of cinnamon, nutmeg, and lots of vannila. all these aromas are food grade and the base oil is rice oil. although the pipe looks wonderful after polishing, this oil is applied to help protect the pipe from soaking up liquids, swelling from moisture (like from your mouth!) absorbing dirt as well as making it look great. all this gives it a finish that is somewere between satin and full gloss.

the bowl in his head is fitted with a stainless steel mesh screen. it is fine enough to catch everything, het course enough to not need regular replacing due to clogging. this bowl is roughly 1 inch x 1 inch in size so it is can hold alot, however, if more room is needed, it can be pushed down to a depth of roughly 2.5 inchs. this extra depth was not made to make the pipe hold more i the furure however, it was done so that if the screen does need to be cleaned, one side of the screen can be pushed down, so that the screen is sitting in the pipe sideways, and it can be removed with a tool like pliers. the depth gives it the room to do this.

finally, his lil body is made from plain ol steel. it has been hand cut, shaped, polished, and painted with clear to prtect it from rust. this lil body hods his head up tall... while he sits on your table.

his design has been strickly as a herb pipe. not for chems, and especially not for changa. this was the intention of his creation before he was designed and i'd like to keep it that way if possible.

when i have time to get more organised, i am gonna sell him here. he will come with a 10ml vile of his special oil. but again, when i'm ready, he will be for sale. for now, this thread is just for you all to see what i've done.

    hope you like him ;P

  13. i loled at this, i almost roflmao ed. Jk Haha (anyone get my lame humour?) anyway, the writer cleaarly doesnt have their facts strait.

"Salvia - notorious in Australia as datura, or angel's trumpet

salvia is a different speices to datura.

"is a potent but legal drug"

most salvias are legal, with the exclusion to salvia divinorum. Datura is half legal; that is to say, legal to grow but illegal to prepare as a drug.

"marketed with promises of producing a transcendental spiritual journey, out-of-body experiences, existence in multiple realities, the revelation of secret knowledge and, according to one online seller, ''permanent mind-altering change in perception''."

salvia, from what i'v seen, is rarely marketed as much more then a legal high however i'm sure somee places do market it this way and has a strong possibility it can produce these effects. It's definitly not marketed in australia. Also, datura is almost never sold anywere, even on the net as a legal high because of how dangerous it can be, especially if prepared the wrong way or ingested in anyway. Even tho datura is a halucinagen, i doubt you will get those types of effects. Period. There just ignorant people Giving bad, dangerous info to all the other ignorant people of the world. Saying salvia is the same as datura? How is that not gonna get a kid killed? Hey, my mum grows datura! Lets make a tea! God damit...

Had a bad few days, good to vent my frustrations here haha

  14. also, just to nit pick, i'm quite confident that niether quarenteen or customs spray a single chemical, however, quarenteen do fumigate, wich is a bit different. Plus the chem they use for fumigation, (diclorvos???) is fkn nasty shit. Definitly not something i want anywere near something i plan to put in my mouth.
