Following up on Lsdreamz effort i had the missus call up the department of land and find out about 2 wheel drive access to Jenolan campsite and rules about mushrooming and campfires. I think LSDreamz may have gone on the six mile track, that is classified as a four wheel drive track and may be unsuitable for two wheel drive cars. if we turn off the highway ten minutes past little hartley onto jenolans road (Tar road) we basically just follow that until we get to the camp site on the right hand side. i dont know if this will work but here is the link http://maps.google.com.au/maps?f=q&sou...mp;t=h&z=17 The camp has water and toilets. The dude said were allowed open fires in any designated spot, there are supposed to be plenty there, and we "will bloody need a fire at night for at least the next four months". As this is state forest we are allowed to wander round were ever we like on or off the track and are allowed to take mushrooms, where as a national park do not permit this and have ranger patroling this time of year to catch people taking mushrooms. The camp site is huge so in the unlikely even of any other nutters camping in the cold we can find a secluded private spot (i like to get naked somtimes)..... I think we should have a vote........but my vote is for jenolans camp ground

Hey guys, From my experience national parks are a fair bit different to state forests. I have never been to the state forests or national parks around this area but have spent plenty of time in the ones around the southern highlands. National parks seem to have rangers doing patrols pretty regularly, but state forests are just left pretty much alone.. i think we should pick a state forest around the area and then drive down on the day and find a camp site thats got no one else there. The first person there could text the rest of us were we are going. Also is anyone taking wives/girlfriends or are infact girls as my girl would like to come but dont wanna be the only girl. My vote would be for Jenolan state forest, as it has all the facilities we will need and due to the size of it should have a heap of spots to camp. It also has what they reckon is the best mushroom hunting around. Also what do i need to bring? i got alcohol a plenty, gas bbq and gas bottles, big esky (big enough for us all prolly) a couple of lanterns some poles and a tarp to put of the side of my car if we need to cook under cover......mnnnnnn anything else

Hey guys, I was thinking we might be better camping in a state forest rather than a propper campsite, there are always places to camp without people around and they are also FREE to camp at. Some have toilets and even showers. I dont really know any around oberon but a quick google has yeilded "Hampton, Jenolan and Vulcan State Forests near Oberon are fabulous sites for mushrooming. .." Might be worth us getting more into nature than just a regular campsite. Hillbilly

Hey guys, Me n' my genny are definitely in.. i will try and get Friday off, i will have a spare seat if anyone needs and plenty of room for gear, if anything needs to be carried out. I have bbq a Biiiiigggg esky, couple of lanterns and heaps of camping stuff..Just let me know what ever we need i prolly got it Hanub-- dont worry about alcohol i know someone that makes spirits and will bring some of the best bourbon and absinthe you will ever have LOL. Hey guys, I have a genny, 6kva, dunno how big youd need but i can weld off this one. if i can get my permission slip signed by the missus i would love to go. id drive my landcruiser so could carry gear too if we need, i can even pullout a trailer for gear if we need. even if i dont get to go your quite welcome to use my genny. Ill go start sucking up to the missus now ;0

try a company called equine supplies, they have an online shop and will deliver.. heaps less sus than buying a box from the chemist and cheap as too.. i think a box of 100, 18g needles is about $5 or something. Failing that any vets that deal with large animals, horses, cows n stuff.. 20mm syringes and 18g needles are the most common size used for penacillin and will not draw any attention if bought by the box.. If they ask just say that your hillbilly buddy has sent me to buy these, his horse has cut its self and he has plenty of Bennacillin (trade name) and just need some more needles and syringes... Hey man, i think unless you really know what you doing its not a good idea to go eating any mushrooms you find. Even if you find out where to look and what to look for there are some mushrooms that look very similar and can be very bad.. i think that if you have search using the search engine i'm sure there is a thread here about imposter mushrooms. Prolly best if you go to the meet and meet some people who can point you in the right direction and maybe teach you what you need to know..

Sorry guys, what i was tring to say is that this recipy calls for 50 gramms of mushrooms in 1500ml of Absinthe. the dosage that is recomened is only 10-40ml this would be equavalent of only between .3 and about 1.2 gramms of mushrooms, i dont htink that would be enough to be really noticable over the 60%alcohol... am i missing somthing?? is there somkind of synergy there or something? oh yeah MU. absinthe is pretty harsh, i have a buddie that makes home made absinthe to an old recipie and its that bitter it makes me throw up if it not drunk correctly with the spoon and the sugar cube.... making me heave thinking about it LOL

Hey all, Just wondering if anyone has tried the magic absinthe recipe off the shroomery. Does it taste any good? i imagine mushrooms and absinthe would taste a little weird at best. To me the numbers don't seem to add up.. 50gms per 1500ml of alcohol = .033gm per ml and yet he says doses between 10ml (.333grm) and 40ml (1.332).. is this right? i would have thought 100ml would be closer to the mark for a dose Hillbilly

I think the just the fact that some of us believe that there is no extra terrestrial life shows how arrogant we are as a race. If you look up at the stars at night and think how many planets and moons are orbiting just those visible stars. Just how many chances of creating an environment capable of sustaining life in some form. There are just too many chances for life not to exist in another place. I think of us like the bacteria that live in the toilet bowl. we can only just see outside of our toilet bowl and are only concerned in looking for life that we can comprehend (other toilet like bacteria). Toilet bacteria would not have any comprehension of an elephant wandering the plains of Africa or a whale swimming in the sea. Just because were toilet bacteria doesnt mean that elephants dont exist.. Just because we are toilet bacteria that are only concerned with other toilet like bacteria and cant comprehend an elephant dont mean its not alive
