    Melbourne Meet Celebrate Spring!!!!

I've somehow managed to zone out or miss the meets for the last 4 years ive been in melbourne, so hope to see you all on the 21st of oct! P.S I think more frequent meets in melb would be a great thing, even small ones, just to get to know the local plantheads and trade chats.. peace!
  2. Pau d'Arco is also very effective against candida, taken internally and/or topically

    Melbourne meet Celebrate Autumn

Cool, lucky i checked the forum out! been meaning to make it to one of these for a long time and if nothing untoward happens to me before hand i should have the pleasure of meeting some of you fellas tomorrow, if we havnt already met somewhere along the line before ..
  4. If she likes the taste of garlic, encourage her to eat a 2-3 cloves a day (organic for sure, any other stuff has alot of sulfur left over from fumigation and can make a person feel pretty nasty)cooked in food or raw mashed with honey (as well as heeding all this other good advice). Garlic is a great antifungal. If she dosnt like the taste, you could make a poultice (mash) of raw garlic and put it on the soles of her feet for a couple of hours, alot of the allicin an other goodies will soak through the skin. BUT! some people (especially with sensitive skin) cant tolerate raw garlic on their skin for long, it can burn skin badly so dont leave it on for more than a few hours (i.e. over night)! Good advice from altenate, having a proper consultation is the best thing to do. It's expensive at private clinics, but if you want to save cash and try western herbs/naturopathy, i strongly agree with FCL and recommend heading to ACNM (on the corner of La Trobe and Elizabeth st's, even open saturdays late some nights, check the website www.endeavour.edu.au ) you can have a consult with a student practitioner for $15 or $10 (i forget) and herbs are relatively cheap, a 500ml bottle is $35 and generally lasts 2 weeks. It's a pretty good option, its a full consult, the students-pracs are professional/confidential and know a fair bit, and nothing gets back to you without going through a qualified naturopath. I've been there a few times for different things and generally had good results with their treatments and advice (honestly not just spruikin the place cause i'm a student there , it can be way too expensive to go to a private clinic, this way its pretty much cost price and alot of the students there are as good/better than naturopaths i've seen in private practice). Pre- and pro-biotics and immune support is a must in this hey, cannestin and whatnot wont cut it if it's been a chronic thing.. thats my 2 cents..

    Ideas on study pathways?

Hey all.. I love plants, i love looking at them, working with them, remembering their names, the differences between em, where they from what they used for, their quirks etc. etc.etc. I have a pretty decent head on my shoulders and feel like my mind is wasting away having done nothing much but doof and smoke stupid amounts of pot since i finished year 12 a few years back. What i'm lookin for is a career in plants, ideally those of environmental and spiritual importance, but i have no fuckin idea where to start. Something which would involve getting the old knowledge into me then out there into the world, I don't really want to do a BaSc in botany or something too cold and clinical, an i really want to learn shitloads more about the plants from this land. If you guys have any ideas on cool courses i could do, or even an idea in where to start looking for a degree in entheogenics any 2 cents would be a great help. I'm starting to get trapped in frustration land..

    Melbourne Meet

Damn i missed this thread and the meet.. Maybe someone could pm me about the next one as i dont remember to check the forum very often.. That'd be nice anyways.. Peace!
  9. Just found myself a wicked house in carlton, unfortunatly it's devoid of furniture (and i'm virtually broke).. If anyone has stuff lying around that they don't need that would be useful for a new house, or lives in carlton (near neill st) and has seen shit lying on the side of the road for collection, please be in touch and we can arrange an energy exchange of some kind.. And you'll have an automatic invite to my housewarming.. should be fun! Anyways just thought i'd put it out there.. Peace!! (p.s. will be working on a garden at my new home in the next few months, any information to plantlife in melbourne would be great and can be traded for plant-space in sunshine!)

    Brugmansia Beauties

yeh, nature provides many other avenues of learning. once i had to help a few mates through a datura session, lets just say i was glad to be on the sober side of that odessesy freak out. But as soon as i have a garden, it has a brug

    Healing plants

Sally gets my vote.. It feels almost like the stitching that holds my expanding mindform together, although i've had just as many utterly confusing and uncomfortable experiences as the life affirming.. But everytrip happens for a reason.. Ganja when used minimally (as in ritually) has also had a catalysed alot of healing in me.. Properly prepared HBWR has done wonders in repairing relations with friends.

    Brugmansia Beauties

Such an amazingly beautiful tree.. All my life i've noticed them around and felt there was someting special about them, like a last remant of fairly land.. When my mother saw i was becoming interested in plants she told me it was like a datura and never to even think about ingesting.. Any truth to this? A plant for me to research further perhaps..

    Calling all melbourne plant-heads

Thanks for the welcome, i hope to contribute in some way! Denmark is beautiful indeed, feels like the seat of my soul.. But don't tell too many people about the place velvet, it's already going down to the land grabbers. I left for that reason, and to throw myself back into life and grow a little, Denners is the land that time forgot, life was a smidgen too easy there. Came to melbourne to meet new people like me, to get into music and theatre and potentially some study, and because for some reason after spending a few years in the bush and on the beach i was craving the hustle an bustle, dirty as it is. I'm gutted i missed the st andrews meet, only had access to the net for the last week, and may lose it soon as i'm couch surfing until i can find somewhere to call home here. Cool well i'll keep my eyes peeled on the forums as much as i can, and as soon as i get a place i'll have a go at organizing some kind of gathering. I'll need a hand establishing a decent garden (more a useful garden than a potent garden) and id love to help others with theirs. p.s If anyone knows of any rooms empty at the moment with decent crew and they could let me know, i'd be eternally grateful!!
