12 overdose at Melbourne dance party
dream_is_destiny replied to apothecary's topic in News & Notices
I agree with what you've said here, not that I'm too much of a fan of it myself.. If the education was there to advise dosage per kg and time between dosage and not to drink the damn stuff with alcohol there'd be much less of a problem. Nearly every overdose is a result of the alcohol combination. -
Outcry over teen drug tips in 'User's Guide to Speed'

Outcry over teen drug tips in 'User's Guide to Speed' By Bruce McDougall November 24, 2008 12:00am TEENAGE school students have been given access to a controversial brochure called A User's Guide to Speed while attending a State Government-promoted anti-drug and alcohol program. Have your say! Add your comments or read what others are saying The 35-page booklet, included among drugs literature displayed to up to 100 Year 8 students and parents during a community information day, contains a section on "tips to avoid getting bad speed". In it, teenage readers are told: "If you don't already have a reliable dealer, try to find one and stick with them. Poll: Should these drug brochures be handed out to teenagers? Vote and have your say. "When you're using a new batch, only try a little at first . . . you can always use the rest later if you need to." The booklet's availability during workshops at the Toronto Courthouse near Newcastle - along with another on "Choosing to use" that was ordered to be pulped in June by former Health Minister Reba Meagher - has outraged anti-drugs campaigners. related links * Vote: Should teens have this drug tip handbook? Produced by the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre, the user's guide tells teens amphetamine-related speed can suppress appetite and help in weight loss. Users are urged to take breaks from using speed, allow time to "come down" so it doesn't interfere with work or study and to carry the phone number of a legal aid solicitor with them. One of the authors, drugs educator Paul Dillon, said yesterday the brochure's presence at the community day was an "unfortunate mistake". Mr Dillon said the resource, produced to help amphetamine users cut down or quit the habit, was inappropriate for 14 and 15-year-old high school students. "You have got to be very careful about the message you are delivering to young people," he said. Mr Dillon, who had no involvement in the community day, said the booklet probably was among a selection of material provided by an agency asked to exhibit. In promoting the community day Attorney-General John Hatzistergos said high school students would learn about the damaging effects of alcohol and other drugs. Last night a spokesman for Mr Hatzistergos said the Government did not condone the use of illegal drugs. "The Attorney-General's Department is looking into if, how and why this brochure turned up at a court open day," he said. No Way campaigner Darren Marton, one of the guest speakers at the education event, said the material should never have been seen by teenagers. "Those who ran the community day are at no fault in this - it is material produced from harm minimisation (advocates) and put there by others," he said. "One lady who was helping out on the day was physically shaken and had to go outside in tears after reading the brochure." Opposition education spokesman Andrew Stoner said a drugs guide was the last thing parents and their children needed. "Students would be better served being in the classroom rather than at a workshop on drugs," Mr Stoner said yesterday. http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/story...#latest-comment -
Does Qi (Chi) energy exist?
dream_is_destiny replied to cycle's topic in Creativity, Spirituality & Philosophy
Whatever it is psychedelics to in relation to dancing and that unmistakable magnetic movement, I use it. Then I make the effort to remain mindful of it through my everyday life. My life is not a hard one. -

Looming Constitutional Challenge on plant use as religious freedom

But to use it as legal fact is potentially very crumbly when in court right? I'd expect better evidence. -
Looming Constitutional Challenge on plant use as religious freedom

Is it metabolised as TMA-2? Someone else here could probably answer that. I do know Asarone is the precursor to TMA-2, not MDMA; and I also know that the effects of calamus vary from that of TMA-2. Very different molecules, very different effects, very different duration. -

Page 36, paragraph 2, line 3 on Calamus; needs to be amended. This statement is untrue. I understand the explanation is used to counteract the claims that the Holy Anointing oil may in fact be Calamus instead of Cannabis but the claim that Calamus is is very inaccurate.I admire your courage and hard work challenging this, it's a great opportunity. I'll be sure to donate what I can, when I can. Aaron -
Thanks for that.

He resents gravity and physics because he knows he's defined to it, he has no respect for freedom because in his mind he's a prisoner to gravity and physics. He doesn't know what it is to feel freedom. He has no respect for people because through them he learnt the curse of never having freedom. He hates the law because it affirms his belief of restriction and he has no respect for pain because it's what he feels constantly as a result of this outlook. I'd say he'd be a pretty lonely person with a resentment toward life based on the outlook that there is no such freedom. I think a person like this' thinking would be a result of placing too much emphasis on physical freedom (in the non literal tied up sense) and none on mental freedom, I don't think a person with an outlook like this would know themselves very well. Such an outlook which suggests there is no freedom automatically makes you a prisoner of that perspective, reaffirming your belief. To have no respect for these things is not to ignore them at all. Just playing.. Aaron.
