Anyone else had issues with airmail?

Sterile medium. As in growth medium, substrate. So you haven't had any worries with airmail? Maybe he'll give it another go. Cheers
  2. Hey kids A friend of a brother of a mate of mine tried to import spores from sporeworks, and they showed up at his house in Australia dead as a doornail. He contacted the company, not even expecting a reply from them, but they were really cool and sent another couple of prints for free. But the second ones were dead too. And I don't think it's his culture technique, he's got a bunch of edible strains fruiting from cloned tissue, but all the jars he tried to innoculate with spores continue to be just jars of sterile medium Anyone else had this issue? It's not surprising, I guess, I can't imagine the poor little guys surviving feezing temps and loss of pressure in the cargo hold of an aeroplane. If only my mate's brother's mate was the mate to a brother of some kind of big wig lawmaker, he could change stupid laws that protect or benefit nobody, and he could get on with it! O well.

    Are subs native?

Hey y'all Just wondering if anyone has got any links up there sleeves as to whether or not subs are aussie natives? I can't seem to find any mention of psychadelic mushrooms being used in aborginal ceremonies. I first started wondering because my roomy was at a doof which was practically shut down by a screaming aboriginal woman who was really upset because everyone was on shrooms gathered from another place, a different tribal land, and she thought that was an ancient no-no. I always thought that any psilocybin shroom in Australia is introduced, surely there would be mention of it in traditional use? Any links would be awesome.

    Otway Mushrooms

I am a landscaper, and I don 't know about all the chemicals they are using, but I can say that you should be mainly worried about the insecticides. Herbicides are generally not too bad, and break down pretty quickly. Roundup breaks down on contact with earth. But the main problem is that fungal bodies suck up chemicals better than anything else in the forest. And they store it. I've read that you still can't eat wild mushrooms in half of Europe because they are still sucking up heavy metals, years afer chernobyl. But anyway, that's my two cents. I would probably not be too worried about eating shrooms from the area, mainly because in my experience, logging companies don't spend heaps of money on herbicides when they can just bulldoze it before planting again. I think the bad development guys are going a bit silly with their website. Loggers only use chemicals when they fuck up and make a big swamp that fills with mosquitos or something. They wouldn't waste money on poisons on a regular basis.
  5. I am gunna try this tomorrow, but I was just wondering if anyone had tried innoculating poo in jars instead of rye grains or rice flour? I figure there is way less chance of contaminants, and considering my pressure cooker blew up last month I have no choice but to try mediums that only need pasteurisation. I just figure that there are so many nasties that like to eat grains and flours, and a lot less that eat dung, or a dung and straw mix. I'll give it a go anyway, report back if I get some action, assuming my prints are still viable.

    Inactive subs

Hey kids, I'm new to the blue mountains, but I'm in the swing of seeking out the subs. It's wicked fun, except for all the little brown phonies! I have read topics talking about inactive subs, just wondering what the go is? Do they only occur early in the season, and are they completely devoid of psilocybin? I wonder if anyone has done a study of potency throughout the season. Cheers

    Blue Mountains pine forests

Yeah, I forgot to take snaps of them, and I wasn't game to try em til I could find some ID. Next time, though. Cheers for the links!
  8. Hey, I just moved up to the Blue Mountains, from Brisbane, and I'm out of the loop in terms of species I could find up here. My roomy and I went out to the pine forests to get some saffron milk caps, found a shitload of amanitas, and a couple of blue staining brown nipply looking things, but nothing like the copelandias and cubs I'm used to up North. Would someone have some links to photos of local wood loving species? Cheers
