  2. Speaking of synchronicity. Did anyone see the episode of 'The Lone Gunmen', a spin off from x files, that was on a week or two before 9/11? The plot was them averting a terrorist attack that just happened to be.... terrorists trying to fly a plane into one of the world trade towers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUKQz-xm0is

My trip to QLD for the Cacti and Succulents show

I thought I pm'd you my details in regards to your thread asking to visit people up here? If not I meant to, would have saved some of the head ache at least. If you ever come back up this way, if you haven't been totally put off, pm me. Browns plains is a hole man. Logan is worse. RE VN's, would have guessed that or a falcon. You have to take a wheel with you if you want them to still be there when you get back if you park on the south side. North sides not much better but at least a steering lock in sufficient (usually) There were nice cacti at the show, I got there 5 mins after they opened (literally 9:05) and I missed out. Saw a mate who had grabbed two giant tbm's with segments like large ladyfingers. Did get a few arios though.

    syrian rue germination

I used the takeaway container loph growing tek, after a 24 hr soak, to get them to germinate, pretty much every seed sprouted out of nearly 100. About 5 made it to seedling stage, two got their second lot of leaves, one grew about a foot tall then turned black and died. All the rue seed I've come across has been viable, just a bastard of a plant to grow. I hear it's a weed in SA. Link

    'Xerophytic' plants

Nice, well done. I grew one about the size of your small plant to the right but it died from damping off, I never watered it but I left the pot out in a week of rain.

    out with a bang

I had pretty much the exact same experience but with cubs, and I passed out and woke up in the hall and when I tried to get up it happened again. I now no longer take shrooms because every time since, that I had even small doses, at the tail end when I start moving around more, I can fell that same thing happening again and have to go lay down for a bit. I can have been moving around before hand but I just seem to get to a point at the tail end where being upright for long periods of time become an issue. There was a thread here a while back that discussed this type of thing but I can't seem to find it, had some fairly relevant info if I remember correctly.

    Wanted: White Sage

No problem mate, I haven't tried to take cuttings from it before, but I've followed PH's advice with the addition of some rooting hormone. They still look good today, but I'll keep you updated as to how they are going. I've only had mine since june last year, no flowers yet. I always just bought white sage smudge sticks but when the price jumped up to $15 for a small one I figured it was time find a plant. Have always grown my own lavender for smudge sticks though, guess cause plants are so easy to get, and all the varieties

I can send you a cutting if you like, or I can get it started here and send it to you later? I got mine from here Mudbrick cottage but they don't seem to have any listed on their site, ( I went there and looked around the nursery ) You could also try Shipards She usually has heaps more than what's on the site.

  23. Was trying to avoid having to buy a mature plant, bit pricey. Anyone got any youngens? Did want it just cause they look cool, but found this on my search. Medicinal uses: This plant is very important because it is one of the common ingredients of secret medicines in the families in Yap Island. This plant is believed to reduce bodily pain, and cool down the body temperature. The leaf can be gathered together and laid down on a mat. Any person who has backache can sleep on it at night. And at the same time it helps alleviate the pain (2). Angiopteris evecta yields aromatic oil and is used for perfuming coconut oil in South Sea Islands (3). The rhizomes of Angiopteris evecta are used for scabies in India (4). In the Southern highlands of Papua New Guinea, the fronds of this giant, fleshy, terrestrial fern were bound on to a fractured limb. Swollen caudex used as starvation food in highland and low land areas of Papua New Guinea. (5). In the treatment of headaches, Angiopteris evecta is used in both Yap and Meghalaya. (6, 7). Angiopteris evecta is used in Fiji for blisters and boils (Cool. It is used in the treatment of ptomaine poisoning and also in cancer in Yap Island http://www.ethnoleaflets.com/leaflets/pteris.htm

    Sapo

A mate smoked some chilli powder once, didn't really get to inhale much before he collapsed in a coughing fit, hardly able to draw breath, his eyes were so red they looked like they were bleeding.lol. Nothing to do with sapo, just thought of it when you mentioned you were thinking of smoking sapo. (after reading VS snorted it)
