hahaha...i see what you mean. There is a native hibiscus that from a distance is remarkably similar to Cannabis spp (unless in flower) it's a native one I can't remember the genus though, maybe someone here can tell us? looks a lot like your picture Tris. -

That second one looks like a species of Agaricus, possibly the 'yellow stainer' Agaricus xanthodermus?

This always happens to me too - I'm also using Firefox2. But I'm used to it and don't really notice anymore...certainly doesn't interfere with anything. Just slightly out of kilter. New logo looks great tho!

Hi all, I am on the lookout for a bulk Lophophora seed supplier I know Earthalchemy.net has orders of 100 seeds available (possibly more). Can anyone suggest other suppliers (or even members in the community?) so I can compare species/vars/cost etc.. Ideally I'm after a few 100 or more. thanks! take care.

About a month ago there was a post (can't remember by who) title was 'LSAs from common plants' or 'household plants' or something similar??? I just can't find the bloody thing! I have tried searching but for some reason both Firefox & IE just open a blank window for me...don't know why. So if anyone can post a link to this thread for me, that would be sweet. cheers.

Gosford 'Glyps' Hate t o disappoint my friend but.....it appears this 'ancient burial' story is derived from or a continuation of a well known hoax called the 'Gosford Glyphs'. "Neil Martin himself found the man responsible. "In 1984 1 was in the area helping to put out a fire", he told me. "As I came around the base of the hill, I could hear a noise like someone chipping stone. I walked over to the cleft and found an old Yugoslavian man, chipping the stone with a Sidchrome cold chisel. Because this was national park property, I confiscated the chisel and the man left. Because he was mentally handicapped, we took no further action, but I later gave the chisel to the local historical society. We never saw the old man again." Taken from first article on THIS site. apart from the fact its forgery, it's kinda cool. --- I also tracked down some correspondence between an Australian Egyptologist - detailing his personal stance on it. correspondence EDIT: It should say that although this has been shown as fabrication - i don't think it diminishes the importance of your overall post. But the fact a small portion of people i know actually believe these 'Glyphs' are authentic shits me -
wow! this is interesting a mangrove...and beautiful flowers too! maybe some chemically minded people here can make use of this? ----- Acutangulosides A-F, monodesmosidic saponins from the bark of Barringtonia acutangula. Mills C, Carroll AR, Quinn RJ. Natural Product Discovery, Eskitis Institute, Griffith University, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia 4111. Nine triterpene saponins, acutangulosides A-F (2-7), and acutanguloside D-F methyl esters (5a-7a) and a single triterpene aglycone (1) were isolated from a water extract of the bark of Barringtonia acutangula. Their structures were assigned on the basis of spectroscopic data. ---- J Nat Prod. March 2005 link

i've had my eye on this conk for a while i'm sure its a Ganoderma spp? - australe maybe? rev: you were selling cultures of Reishi once right? whats your thoughts? i took a spore 'print' of sorts, and might one day attempt an isolate of it (if its a Ganoderma) it's actually growing of a dead A. maidenii conk measures 27cm it seems taxonomy is a mess with the whole genus. i'll be having a look at the spores under magnification tonight, maybe this will help. if anyone is interested in a wild print let me know. cheers.

apoth: I have seen what i think to be the same species 4 different times in my area. it is a beaut seems to be the case from what i've been reading too (Stamets) i've been interested in getting a strain of G. lucidum for some time, one day maybe BlackDragon: do you mind letting me know which Botanic Gardens it was where you had had this conversation? cheers.
