Yeah, I wish I could help with ID. I am a beginer with cacti....
-
babies?? I don't think they are babies
-
I think I have a lucky star! My mother bought some plants that resemble a lot D. copperii. So I went to the store, got some more plus I also bought two other species. [note! there are some shade that might fade the colours in the photo] the close up shows the flowers and colours better. The lighter pinkish one [copperii?], the more fuchsia one, and the darker , redder one. Well, what do you think?

yellow insignis, white arborea [has a single seedpod ~ is it going to finish it?] as some folks ID'ed them here in Corroboree, thanks I am having my third kind of brugs flowering for their first time. They're pink. Will be posting pics too

Sorry if this sounds dumb, isn't 'heavenly blue' variety I.tricolor?? It's a violacea ?

It would be cool to put some pictures of the mushroom you bioessayed

Trichocereus argentinensis
mutant replied to spunwhirllin's question in Cactus & Succulent Identification
Very interesting thread. Nice to find so many cacti & succulents experts in one forum. -
I have started a delosperma ID here http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/inde...showtopic=17772 as well... Looks tricky. The flowers , I think, are essential, since even with the flowers pics it's quite difficult to be sure. I have yet to find someone to reply to my thread. I can only say, from the research I have done so far, that it looks like Delosperma cooperi plant meterial, but also like Lampranthus.
-
Can you be more specific. I have found myself some differences both by appearance as by sources & description
-
Shit man, they're identical! I didn't know about Labranthus. Thanks. I have to search more....
-
Noone who cares to share an opinion or two? Is it so difficult species to identify? I don't seem to find anything similar, even though all three species have slight differences from oneother.
-
Rev you say you have D.copperii Care to help with some IDs? http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/inde...showtopic=17772

Columnar cacti ID + graft compatibility
mutant posted a question in Cactus & Succulent Identification
I bought these as graft stocks. They're like 15 cm high , in relatively small pots, they look healthy and the guy I bought them from confirmed, as I guessed, that they grow fast. Well, the ID question is econdary, the main is about compatibility. Does it look good for a small san pedro graft? -

Columnar cacti ID + graft compatibility
mutant replied to mutant's question in Cactus & Succulent Identification
I read very good words for Myrtillocactus geometrizans as graft stock. What better stock do you have in mind? -
Any other bioessays? [sorry to bring back a thread from the grave, but I spotted Aptenia activity these days and I have been growing it for some time... and since my sceletium seeds didn't sprout.... ]

Does anyone know of an reported astrophytum bioessay? http://galeon.com/cactomania/alucinogenos.htm
-
Thanks for prompt and detailed reply
-
Thanks a lot you guys! Yes the flower does have a green band towards the calyx. It has been given elsewhere but it doesn't harm: http://www.abads.net/Registry/examples.htm A wonderful introduction to the anatomy of Brugmansia and botanic terms equally
-
ok man cool, I will do that, and maybe post my graft attempts
-
Here is my flowering Brugmansia which Sina said it might be aurea. It's not the same plant with the previous photo, but they were both cuttings from the same plant. They flowered simultaneously, but the other one hasn't yet opened fully. So, is it B.aurea ?

Hey jono where are you man? Thanks for the cacti. Check your PMs!
