    mushroom growing

i wouldn't recommend digging up a patch and transplanting it. you might move it to a place where conditions aren't favourable for mushroom growth and end up killing what was once a healthy patch. digging up a patch no matter how careful you are could ruin it forever and you might end up with no patches at all. mushrooms require quite specific conditions and their eco systems can be easily upset it could take years to recover if it recovers at all. the best thing to do would be to take some spore prints from any shrooms growing at said patch and have a go at home cultivation (assuming the species is legal of course). it isn't very hard once you do some research, it is much more rewarding and you will learn so much about shrooms along the way that your appreciation of these wonderful little things will skyrocket. if the species is growing on woodchips you could take a couple of woodchips that have mycelium on them (taking care not to upset or damage surrounding mycelium). there are a number of things you can do such as putting the woodchip between sheets of damp cardboard and growing mycelium on it. once it's fully colonised you can then bury it in a new location. rather than take one patch and move it somewhere else the best (and most mushroom friendly) thing to do is to try and make another patch elsewhere. that way you have two patches. if the second patch is successful why not repeat the process and start patches everywhere. he he he. it might be more work but trust me it is soooooooooooooooooooooo rewarding that it is definitley worth it. there is stacks of information on the net and these forums about growing shrooms. check out theshroomery.org and the archives over at the nook www.thenook.org/archives (i think)... good luck with future missions. peace.

    Tribe - Bruce Parry

there were a couple of good episodes in the first season where he went and partook in an iboga ritual. pretty intense. in another episode he had a go at virola resin snuff with the babongo tribe i think. he seemed to be quite impressed with it's effects and experienced a lot of revelations.

    Aley Grey posters

There is a great book shop in Sydney called Adyar. They stock Alex Grey books, calenders and cards haven't seen posters but im sure they could get them in. This shop is worth checking out for anyone else in Sydney. Has a large range of books on shamanism and plants as well as all sorts of sprituality, conspiracies etc.... the only book shop in Sydney to stock some of the harder to find entheogen related books. their website is www.adyar.com.au ...Polyester in Melbourne is the only other place I've seen that has Alex Grey stuff. You can always order off his website as well...www.alexgrey.com good luck.

Police Sniffer Dog Dies of Nose Cancer

yeah it does suck. dogs are mans best freinds. they shouldn't be used as tools to fight worthless wars.
  17. A British police drug sniffer dog has died of nose cancer, apparently as a result of prolonged contact with cocaine and other drugs he was taught to detect. Police Inspector Anne Higgins of Avon and Somerset police said nine-year-old Max was fine until a couple of weeks ago, when he became incapacitated by an aggressive tumour. "It is ironic the wonderful organ that made him successful in his work has been his demise," she said. "I took him to the police station which he usually loved and was his favourite place but he did not show any reaction to being there and we knew he was not right." Max had retired from police work last year after arthritis robbed him of the use of his rear legs, resulting in the manufacture of a trolley that supported his rear end and allowed him to move around. But the cancer symptoms immobilised his front legs and left him totally immobile. Max's vet Kate Fairclough confirmed the exposure to drugs may have been a factor in Max's death. "Sniffing drugs may well have been a factor — I certainly cannot rule it out," she said. http://news.ninemsn.com.au/world/733938/dr...-of-nose-cancer

    TBM cultication tips

about 2 or three months ago i placed a tiny 'knob' section about 5cm tall into a little pot. in about one and a half months it sent out some roots. it might have been quicker than that but i wasn't checking it very often. the roots are now growing pretty quickly. i was surprised because i too had heard they grow very slowly. anyone know roughly how long they take to send out a pup?

Australia's Naughty Plants & The official gardening tips thread

#14, spartan gardening sayings, general tips: Here's one hunab told me...bending the stems on plants such as Psychotrias can induce new branches. If your plants are especially tall you can lay/bend them towards the ground and they will send up new branches from each node. Also trimming the top parts off will send more branches out, thus fattening up your plants with more leaves and less stem. Perfect if you only have limited vertical space i.e in a greenhouse or indoors. This can also be applied to cacti. Making cuttings near the bottom of the cactus will mean within a year you should have some new pups that will grow into big branches. I've seen as many as three pop up but i'm sure more are possible. You should plant the cutting you made and repeat the same process in a year or two.
