totally enjoyed those two stories dude. thanks heaps for sharing em. Have had many of the like throughout my journeying history. Particularly to do with noticing what spots or locations feel like and whether I am welcome or not, that and feeling the significance of animals and what they might mean. blah. yep thanks again

    Coffee and coffeine withdrawal

Yep, caffeine withdrawal is hardcore for me. I find that as was mentioned earlier in this thread that tapering off is the go.. no need to drill yourself here, wait for the headache to just start and have a cup of tea/coffee then proceed again the gap should get bigger till eventually stopping. First time I kicked caffeine I had been drinking the stuff for about 15 years straight. I bombed man, the backs of my legs were painful when I walked and I had a killer headache for about two weeks. yuck.
  9. Can't afford to buy 100 seeds on my own but if 10 of us chuck in we can each get 100 seeds each for $15... this would include the postage. Anybody keen? I think I can just about finance it and whoever is interested would pay me and then I'd send on? peace

    My First Cacti

Would an old broken fish tank work to keep kitty off them? They seem to be fairly available in peoples backyards/sheds. I used plastic tubs with lids and a fish tank last winter to keep a whole range of plants nice and warm, (at least during the day when the sun was on them). peace groovers
  12. as if corruption in the forces isn't massive from top to bottom.
  13. It's getting on for the time of year that we build our sweats round here. Generally our construction is made with bamboo, plastic and whatever blankets, sheets etc that we can then throw over the top for insulation. We use granite for the stones which are heated till glowing on a fire that we all sit around, cook on etc. Now, I know that this version of a 'sweat lodge' isn't along the lines of American Indians of various tribes versions. That is why we call them bush saunas. but they are done with intent and respect to the originators. Does anyone else here have experience with sweats? How do you folk build them? Where do you choose to do them and what do you find they bring? peace
  14. Had a great sweat on the weekend just passed. I didn't take any pictures cause, well, I just didn't. I think they help me shift stuff thats going on... feeling much more grounded or something after it. In years gone by I have gone really hard with sweats, sessioning up to maybe 5 times in one night i.e. going in and out and in and out etc. I am getting a feel for them now though and really feel the drain they can put on your system. I think that sessioning over a period of a week or so could be really beneficial. It's a bit like a super detox/cleanse and there is only so much the body can handle at a time. Definitely dropped me into a liminal state for about two days afterwards, and also takes intention and energy to carry the process out. Further, in a community/culture that has lost a great deal of meaning around ritual I feel that by my friends, their families and mine doing this kind of thing taps into something quite old and right. I believe with the right intention their is no sullying or disrespecting other cultures ways of building/doing sweats. peace

    Tip of the iceberg

really, people... you are all such great minds and people of heart. Thankyou for the reading and in depth, open discussion about a topic I'm sure a gnome in a sister's garden's slug friend's uncle's group of friends on an internet forum are well qualified experientially to ponder. ( I reckon I lost half the reading audience in that last statement I agree with certain plants being allies. For me they have changed as I have grown. And I've got some not so subtle hints to stop some saying hello to some plants. <please ignore my banter and continue, just wanted to say good reading folks>

    My reserection

Wow. Another one comes through hey!!! My son was born at home without a midwife. No medical intervention at all including checkups and whatever you are 'meant' to do. Took alot of faith in the way of things. Having babies is a big ol' business and people make heaps of money out of fear. Just thought I had to drop that opinion in. Don't wanna sour the UN FUCKING REAL!!!!!!! news and love going on wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

    Healing plants

took a while to notice but for me the crap feeling at the end was me not getting that the stuff that was making me feel uncomfortable was the stuff I needed to work on. but hey, that was my lesson... maybe not yours. peace

    Healing plants

the journey is not one that is revealed easily or comfortably from the start. It might take years to get what you are searching for. For sure elders in your community might show you if you are ready, (be it this one or preferably ones more physically in your community) will show you the ways to meet power plants. otherwise ... oh yeah... dude.. otherwise you are just going to get the same shit, i mean lessons, over and over till you get it. By this I mean the experience may get uncomfortable. the things that are talked of here are tools to higher consciousness - almost feel that there should be a degree in ALL uni's or something that talks of ethnogenics. But for now we will continue on with word of mouth and anecdotal evidence. yeah, that and the thousands of years of people using them to heal. Without becoming a big boring post, mainly hallucinogenics, (as they are now called) can provide an avenue to helping others. Thats all for me. Other than that eventually they will kick you in the arse one way or another. peace an love

    My reserection

fer sure, seed trading thread is all faith based and time delays, (for me anyway) are expected... you know we all have our own lives to get along with... If you are about to find out you are going to be a parent - welcome to the most amazing experience you will ever, (yep) encounter... The birth of my son 14 months ago opened my heart wider than anything has before and I DID NOT see it coming. so much love to you right now brother. pm me if you want to talk hey. love peace joy for this awesome planet.
  21. Hey, I'm not going to explain the whole thing cause it would just take tooooooo long but a number of years ago while hunting for mushrooms I was able to close my eyes and turn in a circle until I hit "north" so to speak and then walk until I felt the urge to stop and then do the turning around thing again. With out fail I would walk straight into a mushroom. They were very thin on the ground at the time also, I found a perfect 10 and left. anyone else had this experience. it was seriously like I was being turned around by a magnetic force m

White Shamans And Plastic Medicine Men

I think it's kinda funny that westerners get ripped off by those who know the plant, (or otherwise). I very much, very, very, very much doubt those seeking to 'get off' on something meant for healing etc will find that the plant seeks them and hence gets ripped. Hah. Bit harsh I know but fuck it. With the plants we are all talking about and getting to know want you they find ya. peace

My body was a compass while mushroom hunting

Yep wouldn't put it on the resume. But have left doubt behind in knowing that they are friends and speak to me. weird I guess for our social norms but I hear not so much in times past. I have nothing but the utmost respect for the mushroom man and the potential healing he can bring. A teacher for sure and one that takes many years to get to know well. blown away.

My body was a compass while mushroom hunting

Without getting too Don Juan about it, I do think that certain plants / things pick people. Some things definately do not like me, that or they have served their purpose and are now a bit annoyed or bored with me like mj. For me I think it is about whats there to learn, utilize. The mushrooms I think tend to find me if I have intent or purpose for searching. even in a drought
