Maybe $20 for box of Bunya seeds, to cover postage. Should be able to fit at least 20 in a box. Only got a few Monkey Puzzles, might keep the rest. I live in Tassie, so can't accept plants unless you get them sprayed and certified...not that hard, bit annoying.

I'm running another bunch of courses, learn how to grow gourmet mushrooms, and get living cultures. https://www.facebook.com/Forest.Fungi There's a FB link, check out my latest album-I grew those on composted Eucalyptus sawdust. Hope to see some of you there...watertrade?

Grow your own mushrooms-courses in Vic and NSW this March

I haven't set a date, or a venue, but early May is most likely. Keep an eye here, or on my website. Are you up North or down South? -

No worries, here's a link http://www.permaculturesydneyinstitute.org/event/mushroom-workshop/ and one near Canberra http://caroolafarm.com.au/learn-to-grow-yummy-mushrooms-29-30-march-2014/ and the Bendigo and Maldon ones...http://www.mrsite.co.uk/usersitesv18/FORESTFUNGI.com.au/wwwroot/page14.htm -
Maintenance free? I don't get it. You want money for a plastic box with glad wrap? Do you supply cultures to go with it? Don't mean to sound rude, but those mushies don't look great, what is the advantage of your kit?

Nice one. Care to share your recipe? Did you case? I've got some charging on eucy sawdust soaked in waste washing water, mixed with goose and chicken poo. Just hope it stays warm enough down here to fruit.

Phobias may be memories passed down in genes from ancestors
worowa replied to tripsis's topic in Chill Space
I reckon dreams can sometimes give an insight into ancestral memories. Inherited memories explains a lot-like why some dog breeds are naturally good sheep dogs, others are very hard to even train. -
Hohoho, have you been a good boy? I have a few spare plates. PM your addy.

My "lab" has carpet, all my labs have. My dog and family used to share my lab. All my grain spawn sits around in the lab. I never use bleach, just 70%metho or Glen 20. I've made and inoculated 1000's of petris in a shearing shed, with dozens of people using the same glove box. Amazed how successful it was. I never use a flame, just wipe my blade between species, and I use "disposable" scalpels for months. It's been years since I've had a petri go bad, apart from that crap dried spawn I was trialing, and when trying to clone wild morels. I do 100 petris at a time, in front of my flow hood, and usually do at least 8 different species, 1 after the other, same scalpel. I do put peroxide in my agar, which I reckon helps heaps. I still get the occasional contam in grain, maybe 1 in 20, but the chooks and geese appreciate that.

Apparently they sell mold spawn It's dried, possibly from UK-shiitake, pink, yellow and whites from memory. They try and flog a particle board with it. I guess when it all fails, it's a case of "too late now, you made a mistake"...

I reckon it's that crap dried spawn from Bunnings, Mr. Fothergills? I tried some, same shit.

I don't think so, but crikey, that was a fantastic collection of edibles you had. I wish I was more organised, I couldn't keep up with that many cultures back in the day.

Anyone got a Nameko-Pholiota nameko? Just read it might be a good companion for grapes and Aronias.

Finally about to be a first home owner! No more pesky land lords, can plant what I want, where I want. I've relocated from the mainland, and stupidly gave most of our plants away-we did bring some, which ended up being easy once we'd waded through all the bureaucratic crap. I've got my bee hive ready to go, a small selection of vege seeds, and some Morel spores that have germinated awaiting their hosts (apples, pears, quinces, eucys, pecans etc). Keen to set up some Food Forests, full of fungi, and to get the dam stocked with fish and water plants. Going to need a greenhouse, as the block is 43 degrees S-maybe a poly tunnel to start (for tomatoes, basil, peppers, cucs), then a nice earth sheltered, rocket stove mass heated greenhouse for bananas, papayas and tropicals. I don't have much to trade yet, apart from fungi cultures and courses, and a few herb/vege seeds, but I would be stoked if anyone wanted to donate (or trade) seeds, cuttings, plants...edibles mainly, nothing noxious thanks. The plan is to landscape and plant out, then eventually have a small tea house on the dam, and to run the occasional course (permaculture, fungiculture, maybe host yoga, tai-chi etc). Anyhow, that's part of the dream, anyone keen to help?

I mainly use mixed eucy, all species I've tried grow on it, some, like Pioppino aren't particularly abundant on eucy, but they still grow and fruit. Try a side by side with Poplar-I will when I get some Poplar.

7 cleared acres with big dam in Tas-ready for ethnobotanical garden.

Devils dinner One night, roadkill demolished. As for me... bit of morel magic, and some recycling King Oysters on eucy dust in removal boxes. -
It is very resilient, can dry out on agar plates for over a year, then take off as soon as it hits moist agar. It is the skinny stemmed variety...I'd like to get the fat stemmed variety if any one has one.

Delicious, highly prized.

Sent to me from a cloned fruiting body. Been looking for ages-last time I saw it I wasn't a grower.

I've got Agrocybe aegerita, pm your addy.
-
I've got it, shoot me your addy. I haven't fruited it yet, but it is forming blobs (sclerota?) on agar. Very fast on agar.

Any Agaricus blazei? Morchella sp.? (I might have some blacks from a local Tassie specimen and yellows from spores, but untested for know). Tuber melanosporum or magnatum?
-
Thanks Tripsis...probably a lot like the Chenai relative . I found it crunchy, not a strong flavor. Only ate it once, have to get a big load going for our short summer. I've got a few plates if you want some.

No, survived on agar and small blocks, minus 8 outside, the lab had no curtains and no heating, bloody cold inside.
