    Biblical and prebiblical similar anyway as ancient myths seem to have stood the test of time albeit bastardised by it.

     

    modern science is doubtless correct about the shape of the earth but could be failing to properly put myths in context.  There is a deeply held assumption that the earth then was as the earth is now.  There are many theories in comparative mythology and i wont go into what they are or how the electric universe paradigm can explain them, but picture if you will an imposing sky;  a sky that could be denser and closer than a modern day storm.

     

    Its my belief that ancient myths are of substance, the stories are unreliable for a number of reasons but when you can trace consistent correlations across continents then its fair to ask "what are the ancients telling us about times forgotten"

    Ok so this is a about this sept 23rd stuff ive posted a short explanation video (haven't reviewed it but should explain basics)

     

    Basically jupiter enters virgos "belly" and goes retrograde meaning it does a 9month loopdy-loop in the belly end exits between the legs eg virgin gestation/birth.  In this case it matches the description given in revelations (12 stars in leo cuz three planets etc)

     

    I gather this happened once around the time of christ and once in old testament times, so, the authors probably knew it would happen again and assigned it some significance.

     

    Now, folks are saying it signals a commencement of tribulations followed by the 1000 year time of christs reign.

     

    Coincidence or whatever, based on my following of finance and geopolitics i have trouble seeing any way around a doom scenario.  This belief has nothing to do with prophecies and im not a christian.

     

    Broadly speaking ive come to believe that planetary geometry influences the behaviour of the sun, earths electrical circuit, weather and likely also biology/psychology.    This belief is based on fringe and not-so-fringe science rather than astrology and other "hocus pocus".

    To the guy who posted gravity as expansion, i finally had a scan through.  Not a thorough read whatsoever but enough to admit it's a well made case.

     

    Makes about as much sense as relativity anyway, in fact, its an almost identical model, insofar as it uses the same math with a different way of visualising it..  So i dunno, i dont buy spacetime curving or massive objects expanding, but im glad you posted it.

    I was taught to tie stakes very low .  Let the tops flail around and find their strength but prevent the trunk-proper and its roots from suffering.  Dont know if it applies to this species but i'll throw it out there.  

     

    FWIW i never see this technique in use ( trees, nursery stock), but common practise isnt always best practise.

     

    Also you can check if roots are innoculated by squishing a root nodule and checking for pinkness.

     

    Id expect some soil from innoculated roots would be all thats needed to spread the bacteria, as suggested earlier.  Cant state this unequivocally but you can always perform the check to see if it worked.

    It has leaked out that comey was drafting h clintons exhoneration long before he issued it, before critical phases of the investigation were complete.

     

    Obama directed comey to exhonerate Hillary!

     

    Why?  Because clinton would have been communicating with his sec state about classified matters, and it would have come out that soetoro i mean obama was guilty of the same crimes

    Interesting because soetoros presidency handover letter to trump also leaked and it says nothing interesting except dont interfere with institutions such as democracy, rule of law and separation of powers.  Not sure if these his interference legally qualifies as such but in principle, certainly.  

     

    He and his team were up to some real slimeball stuff during the election and i wont be surprised if lynch, rice, clinton and maybe even soetoro all go down for it eventually.

     

    Back to trump watch, i must harshly criticise his plan to expand the war in afghanistan.  I can understand that nobody wants all the lost lives to count for nothing but what about futurr lives?  Trump wasnt elected to continue raising tensions with russia and continue overseas military actions but that has happened.  he is failing in what could have been the greatest legacy of any recent president.

    Well i liked prometheus but alien covenant exceeded my expectations and blew my mind, and it validates prometheus.  Utterly.

     

    I mean wow, what a story.  The two movies completely explain the origin of the xenomorph.

     

    Its important to keep the themes in mind rather than just expecting an action thriller.

    sorry, i am currently unable to follow your thoughts easily and will try again another time as they seem lucid but i depleted my brain typing out the last post.

     

    although, i'm not sure if you misinterpreted the frame of my argument, which has nothing to do with us developing AI but rather some possible scenarios for a simulation we may or may not exist in.

     

    thinking about how WE will deal with AI was just my springboard.

     

    also, i didnt mean our cage is "epistemological doubt", i meant that it is akin to an infinitely powerful being warping our senses

     

    these clarifications might be unnecessary, i will find out when i can absorb your contribution.

     

     

    also, i thought zuckerberg wasn't scared of AI?  he and musk have been sparring over it (musk says AI will threaten mankind)

    i got to thinking about the acceleration of history and how a true AI will probably trigger the greatest acceleration yet, and how we intend to contain such a dangerous life form (it will de-crown us as the premier sentience, and we won't be able to predict how it will feel about sharing its habitat)

     

    you could monitor it and throttle its CPU every time you have cause for concern, pausing or slowing its development while you (at tardy human pace) assess the dangers, assess what it thinks and where its going.  thats short term stuff though.  it will immediately want to know why you are starving it of scope.  you could lie to it "oh we have power shortages and stuff" but it will figure out you're lying.  it will outsmart you, possibly such that it can escape any physical barriers you've imposed.

     

    which got me thinking about descartes' evil demon.  the best approach would be to contain it in a false reality, with falsified inputs.  keep it in the dark and feed it shit, like a mushroom.

     

    we humans often feel as though we are fed shit and kept in the dark by world leaders

     

    got me thinking that maybe thats what we are.  not components in a simulation, eg simulated human consciousness #349254028750

     

    maybe we are caged AI, and our cage is descartes' evil demon.

     

    EDIT:  let me break down the difference.  the simulation isn't an experiment (to see where it goes), it isn't a recreational or learning zone (weee im an ancient human, so immersive).  see fun video 2.5mins:

     

    its a means to an end, directing the development of one or more AI's towards specific goals, and perhaps more importantly inhibiting it from becoming too intelligent or at least too knowledgeable, specifically by denying it any sense knowledge of the actual reality it resides in.

     

    shit i lost my further edit.  i think i was mainly laying out two obvious scenarios.

     

    A.  the AI's are us, or something like us.  in this scenario, god is the simulation/simulators, although more akin to descartes' evil demon.  the purpose would be to direct our development towards specific goals.

     

    B.  god is the AI and we are its creation.  in this model the AI has free reign, its not inhibited or guided towards certain goals, but is denied knowledge of the greater reality and thereby denied the opportunity to brings its capacities dangerously to bear on the vulnerable greater reality.  it is also denied the opportunity to be corrupted by knowledge of it, perhaps.  as would be the case with god, it believes it is totality and all of existence is a product of it;  nothing lies outside of itself.  this model sits comfortably with the long-held belief that as products of god, we ourselves are divine.

    imagine all the calamity it has caused and how it has shaped history over the last 5000 years and more.  you need only look at how it affected non-drinking native populations when strong drink was suddenly thrust upon them.
