SOLD please don't PM me about these plants
-
All done
-
Additionally, I will trade number 3 for a large fat cutting of Terschekii, Validus, Pasacana etc.
-
Only number 3 is left.
-
Yes Zelly has the right idea, put them in good conditions/environment and forget about them. If they haven't thrown roots in the next week or so it could be a long wait until it warms up :)

The Crest is SOLD.

For sale I have a couple of cuttings and a few plants, I will add more when/if these sell. Postage will be extra. Send me a PM to secure the plant. Plants still available; 3. It is not unusual for cacti to have fruits with hair or spines protruding, however, I have not personally noticed them on any of my Lophophora. Maybe it is just a one off ? Did the fruit contain seed?
-
My guess is it should bloom in about 4 days. Cuttings that flower are a bit strange, they will abort the flower at any and can be difficult to pollinate and set seed. Once the fruit is set they will drop the fruit early at random. Mature/established plants rarely do this unless under enormous stress.

should 1-2 cm cacti seedlings be totally dry in winter?
Hellonasty replied to Dreamwalker.'s topic in Cacti & Succulents
I water my seedlings all winter just less often. They still need water just not as often or as much at the one time. With the temps you describe I would water them monthly during winter, just be sure they are not getting water from any other source I.e a drip from the roof of the greenhouse etc. Additionally, I try and not get the body of the plant wet by using bottom watering etc -
Yep completely normal mate, you are thrown off because when you see mature plants the tap root is below the surface, with seedlings this is not the case until you repot them.
-
Strange, I find grafted plants will split more but I've not had this happen often.

Is the bottom little pup attached ? Looks like two seedlings, one having germinated recently.

@ Billy, I grow nearly all my plants from seed, this plant was grown from seed and grafted to Hylocereus after 20days. It was degrafted last season and is growing on its own roots now.
-
@ Billy, The Bravoanus is also a hybrid and I don't know what the father was unfortunately Here is a nice Ariocarpus Retusus CV Cauliflower, which is starting to show the trait more as it matures, I hope it continues in this fashion.
-
I definitely prefer Hylocereus, It grows fast and performs well for both seedling and advanced grafts. The only exception is Lophophora SP, they don't like Hylocereus for some reason, so I graft them to Trichocereus.

Would love your thoughts on this one. Little hard to make out but at the top are two flower buds, once they bloom it will help with ID.

I personally don't like Köhres and this is not due to how the business is run, it is run quite well and they are for the most part honest in their dealings. However, I have had many seeds that are either mislabeled or just completely different to what the label says. This is true for Trichocereus, Ariocarpus and Astrophytum, I will not buy from them again. HN

The colored San Pedro Flower Project
Hellonasty replied to Evil Genius's topic in Cacti & Succulents
I have a plant I believe to be Trichocereus Tarijensis growing in my front yard it is about 6 years old from seed and still quite small. No sign if flowers yet..... -
Any ideas as to what this is ? I was given it by a well known cactus enthusiast in Australia and It was labelled Neoraimondia Gigantea. I does not fit the appearance and features of that plant, but what is it ? Love to hear some opinions. HN
