  1. Any Who getting back to the original topic at hand.

I believe that cathinone although being unstable and oxidising outside its protective environment inside the plant very quickly, IS stable in its salt form. Therfore a tailor made extraction tek using a slightly acidic solvent from fresh material should theoretically extract the cathinone safely in its salt form.

If this "party" pill is indeed derived from Khat and is active as described then i'd say this is probably whats in it. Cathinone Hydrochloride.

If only my Khat was a lil larger I could test this theory, but that would be a no no in big bro eye's wouldn't it. Theory will have to sufice then :)

  2. Hey Watertrade,

Good to see a fellow canberran :)

Lots of plants are good to go here, all depends on what your trying to achieve :) They have to be frost tollerant and drought tollerant (not a necesity if you can keep watering up) helps to.

Here are some plants that I have in my lil patch,

    Ephedras

    Carex

    Acacia longifolia, triptera, obtusifolia.

    Sceletium

    Catha Edulis (Narrow leaf)

    Cyperus

    Acorus

    Sida

    Lactuca (serrosa is EVERY where)

    Petalostylis labicheoides (butterfly bush)

There are many more suitable for ACT but i've only been collecting for 4 months or so. Theres many more on my wish list :)

Ace lives in this neck of the woods to Im sure he'll be able to suggest some as well.

    have fun :)

  3. I'm sure you could obtain wild myc without doing any more damage than that done by picking the mushroom. You would only need the smallest piece, just a starting point for a culture of some sort. Using a shovel to obtain myc would be like using a flame thrower to kill an ant. A pair of tweezers would be more than adequate.

My reasoning is that myc is resistant to peroxide and as such harvesting myc instead of spores may make it easier to produce a clean culture when incorperated with a peroxide tek. Granted, you could go for a tissue sample from the centre of a cup, but if the species is delicate in structure then this may prove more difficult than snaging some myc.

Anyway I just thought i'd put the notion out there. Havern't seen that much info on this avenue and wondered why it wasn't mentioned more.

    Thanx for the input pplz.

Has anyone tried this first hand. Just curious about experiences and pros/cons.

  4. no probs, I have been talking to Arizona, a great source of cacti seeds by the looks of things.

Yeah he's a nice bloke, got some Loph and Tricho seeds off him a week or 2 ago. Smooth and pleasant transaction, good prices too.

I'm yet to plant as I am still putting together the proper steup for germ. Be interesting to see what the viability of his seeds are.

  5. Hey all,

Is anyone else having problems with the new ethnobotany-australia site?

I can't seem to get the page to display. Its been doing this for about 2 days now.

    Any info?

  6. Hey pplz,

I'm looking to establish a culture collection and I'm not confident enough to source from the wild. Seems like a much smarter idea to me to obtain some prints from the mucho knowedgable folk around this forum and learn to identify from 100% ID species, that I have grown.

So If any of the seasoned myconaughts out there are able to toss a budding myconaught a scrape or 2, PM please.

    Thanx all :)

  7. Hi all,

My Sida seeds are taking tooooo long to sprout and I'm guessing they prolly won't now till next season.

If anyone can offer some cuttings or plants I'd be much appreciated. I'm after Cordifolia and/or Rhombifolia.

Also after some herb material if possible.

Can offer in return cash or a pack of 10 Loph seeds.

    PM if you can help.

    Thanx

  8. hey. i have giants white flowering wild dagga, just finished flowering bout 2-3 months ago should start flowering again soon i hope..i can get you cuttings or dried flower material when it flowers next?

    Hey X,

I'll take a cutting or 2 if its not to much trouble. Actually seeds would probably be better, what evers easier for you. Not much to trade with sorry. I'm still establishing my ethno collection. :)

Happy to pay for cutting/seeds and postage.

    Let me know.
