    seed grown weirdo

The birth place of a legend! I expected there to be more posts lol. I'll take your word for it regarding your records that it came from bridge seed Ferret... but if I put money on it I'd say its from the SS02 X [Juul's X peruv] batch. Grafted growth has the SS02 bridge look, its got that hulking head of the JG scop based clones and the short spine epidermis that matures into long spine like on peruv. I can see them all in there. Whatever the parentage, shes a beaut mate. Def on the wish list!
  2. Be careful. Its surprising what things are fine for human consumption but toxic to dogs. Grapes for example are extremely toxic and can kill a dog very quickly. This includes dried form like in buns and cake. Also poisoning symptoms may not be evident until its to late. 10mg/kg suggests a low tolerance to the material.
  3. Solubility issue. Warm liquids hold more of a soluble compound than cooler liquids. You will need combine MCT with another liquid that has a greater solubility of CBD isolate if you want higher concentration solutions. 10mg/ml is what I have read for CBD isolate in MCT. You should also look into turpenes for use with CBD isolate as they increase the absorption of cannabinoids.

    Acacia burkittii germination

Pathogens perhaps. If using boiling water treatment try sowing in an inert medium like coarse sharp sand that has been nuked and let cool to room temp. Otherwise once the seeds are soft after treatment you can pull one apart carefully to see if it is healthy or a shrivelled soggy mush inside. If its mush your seeds are junk. If healthy then its probably a pathogen in your soil mix.

    Acacia burkittii germination

Not tried burkittii but I have grown many other acacia. Personally I prefer to sand some of the seed coat away before hot water treatment. Not to much, you only need to break the very outer gloss coating, so you can see a bit of a flat spot. Seeds will swell if the process is successful. Much more reliable than just a hot water soak.

    Looking to buy ephedra

From my experience years ago, Ephedra are not really that difficult to germinate. I germinated and grew 5 species form memory. Like all plants they requires certain conditions to germinate, all you need to do is provide those conditions and the little tackers do the rest. The reason Ephedra has a reputation for being tricky is due to the seeds viability dropping off over time. To get good results you need fresh seed, or at least not old seed.
  9. Just wondering if this Ipomoea is purpurea. Its growing all through my yard . The seeds from the pink flower are a creamy light tan colour while the seeds from the purple flower are black. The purple flower is actually a deep irridescent purple if your standing in front of it and not looking at a picture. Camera made it look blueish. The leaves on the purple flower plant were heart shaped as well as that 3 point shape in pic2. Also the stems are slightly hairy changing to very hairy at new growth. The purple flower looks like it has light eminating from its throat . Oh, and their not MJ leaves in the pink flower pic, just stinking ol roger . Re the seeds, just for the sake of knowing, what is considered a dosage for Ipomoea purpurea? No interest at all in sampling, just interested to know how potet these lil buggers are. I've done some research and its left me more confused, albiet a lil more enlightened, than before. Some sources state 400-600 seeds others 200 to 400 . Fair variation there . Thanx peeps

    moooo poooooo

Re the store bought manure, I have often wondered the same thing. I think it would be best to let it dry right out in the sun then treat like normal. Probably scooped out of sale yards and would be a mixed bag of green shit and dirt so that's why I'd age it in the sum before use. Be interesting to know exactly how it is processed.

Do you also inoculate your jars that way distracted?

    Instant Grain Spawn

Yeah saw them GoOnThen. They don't have a clear window to monitor colonisation though. Same with the product Satyr has a pic of in the first post. The same product in the shop where I checked had no window. Might give them a go anyway.

    WANTED ~ Syrian Rue Plant

Yeah had a couple attempts at growing S Rue. First was under a light on a heat mat under constant supervision and they hated that setup, struggled and damped off eventually. Next I gave the seed an overnight soak, sowed them 5mm deep in a well draining slightly sandy mix in a 100mm pot to make it easier to control moisture levels with a bias toward dry rather than wet, positioned pot in a spot that gets sun from sun up till mid day then shaded, checked every afternoon after work and watered if pot looked dry. Sprouts at about 10 to 14 days later, 100%. Less is more with these fellas. Had them in the ground for 12 months or so. Put them in late in the season so they only got settled before they died back to ground level for winter. Soil was shit where I put them, hydrophobic with a shallow field capacity when I was able to get it wet through the profile. They never got big, 40cm high maybe, a lot of competition with larger established plants in shit soil. Moved away from the property they were on (in-laws) and when I was back for a visit I noticed they were no longer there. Died or pulled out I don't know. Not sure if they flowered, we were gone when the magic would have happened. Heavy clay where I am now so I don't know how they will go here. Gonna give it a crack anyway.

    grain moisture content?

Pop corn is the go alright. Much easier to get the moisture level right than smaller sized grains also its widely available in supermarkets everywhere and its pretty cheap to boot. Might not suit all fungi species but its a good grain to start out with as its so much easier to work with than your smaller grains. Give it a go and see what you think.

    WANTED ~ Syrian Rue Plant

I was thinking about growing some seedlings this year. Will soak some tonight and chuck some in. They grow pretty fast and are very hardy once you get them past the seedling stage. Offer is there if your interested.

    Papaver somniferum alba

I don't know. Maybe its something to do with marking the pods to keep for seed on higher productivity plants. Just a rough guess

    Want List

Prickly poppy is an annual so I'm not sure how a cutting would go but maybe... From seed is simple, just needs a cold stratification and their all good. Maybe GA3 would work to break dormencey. Also Peganum harmala is piss easy to grow. Soak over nite in warm water. Plant to about 5mm deep in a well draining, slightly sandy mix. Place somewhere that gets morning sun but shaded in the afternoon and keep the mix moist. Once they are up keep them moist but not wet. Prone to damp off so let them dry off a tad rather then over water.

    WTB Challiponga rooted cutting

@zelly: FARK thats a long wait. Gonna have to try and find that vial of GA3. Haven't used it since I moved house so it could be anywhere. @Quetzalt: Well both species are on the kiwiboancaya site and the seeds I received look like the ones ordered not like the pauciflora. Also if you check the leaf shape in the images from your grow log thread against the pics of the mother cabrerana plant on kiwiboancaya site, the leaves look like cabrerana and nothing like pauciflora. But on the flip side the site says the plant takes from cuttings easily which is not supposed to be the case at all of true Diplopterys cabrerana. I guess we'll see what we get.
