Hey black dragon. Would it be possible for you to post a picture of Mum n Dd flowering? I got some cuts a couple years ago from you,but it will still be a few years before they flower. the Bruce flower is very pretty. I have one of them in the ground too. It's a very vigorous plant.

    USA vs Australian Customs

one thing about sending things from the US to overseas is, You have to declare the contents on the customs declaration and sign that you swear it to be true under penalty of law. so theoreticaly,if word ever got back to US Customs that a mis declared package was seized, they could come after the sender. And that could be bad next time they crossed a border with some "red flag" on their computer that could stay there for years One way to smuggle cuttings in would be "up the bum" But be be sure to cut the spines very ,very short first!

  8. Hi folks, This is the 4th year in a row I've had this sale over at the nook, and it's been a success for all concerned. if you check my trading over there, you will find many, many happy customers. The sale goes from April 1st to May 7th. The list will go out April 1st,and everyone who requests the first list will get a second, updated list on the 15th with new plants added. Sadly,I can't ship to Australia, but I wanted to offer it to my friends over here at SAB also. If you would like the list,pm me with a request. please keep questions to pm messages,so as not to clutter up this post too much. There will be alot of nice plants in limited supply,so if you see something you like, grab it quick. My plants are all fat and sassy. please note* these plants are being sold strictly for landscaping, and ornamental reasons. If you ask any questions about possible illegal use,I will not sell to you. Thanks for your understanding. I will get some photos up here shortly.

    trichocereus cuzcoensis

I can say from experience that the #427 michael pictured (grown from JHHudson seed)is totally inactive. tried another very similar one (called T.peru tarma.looks like 427,but more "muscular"that was weak, but had a beautiful clean scrumptious magical quality. What a lovely day that was!
  11. I have a bunch of knize seed that has very poor,to no germination, and i would like to coax some sprouts out of it. i think i remember Torsten writing about having success by cold shocking, blanching,or some method. I've got 9000 seeds and nothing to lose,so does anyone have any tips, success,or ideas I can try? or a link to that post? i struck out on a bunch i got 2 years ago,so last year i got more to try again.

    germinating reluctant knize trico seed

Yeah, the bridgesii had good germ rates. The 339 and everything else was pretty much worthless. I haven't tried the new ones yet,but sent some to a friend who hasn't had much luck at all with them. other people have had great luck with the 339 pachanoi. Oh well,it's only money maybe i will try the gibberilc acid.
  14. Amazing! Many thanks for posting this.

    Halibut Bowl

thanks! What's a mull bowl? Yeah,I sell them, give them away to friends, trade them, etc. on a bowl,I make the initial cuts with a chainsaw. Then Icut the outline for the blank with a band saw. then I take as much of the inside of the bowl as I can with a drill press and a forstner bit then go on to hand tools, grinders etc. Acrylic paints are used, and the interior of the bowl is coated with non-toxic mineral oil. if I haul ass,I can make this particular bowl in 20-24 hours start to finish. I have a big 36" blank for a fully carved Halibut(no paint, all carvings),but I've just made 2 of them in a row,and I'm Halibutted out. So it will have to wait. That one will take at least 40 hours My current project is a Viking Ale bowl shaped like a dragon.
  17. This ones made of Yellow Cedar. I get most wood off the beach.

    The ordinary-ness of "Eileen"

I am very lucky to have been able to get a big cutting of eileen from Ed,which I have multiplied to be able to spread some out and still have 6 growing. So far,I have 3 australian clones,Eileen,Mum n Dad,and Bruce.(All bridgesii) I treasure them and love them, and hope to grow a fucking forest of them. I'm hoping to get more Oz clones too.(PsychoO,Lance,etc. if I can talk some of you guys into it. Australian Bridgesii clones Rock!
  19. the greenhouse works great! A small space heater is used in these conditions It easily keeps the temp to 45-50 degrees most times,no heat at all is needed. The snow helps the insulation alot. there's about 120 trico plants in the ground, and lots more in pots It's suposed to keep cold and snowy through Christmas!
  20. Here's a flowering Jourdania that was de-grafted 1 year ago. You can see the new pup coming up. Also a graft of the exact same clone 1 year old on trico seedling stock. Is that the right flower color for Jourdania?

    Preparing San Pedro....

How do you extract in cold water? Do you mean like a juicer or something?

    Preparing San Pedro....

I hear tell of good results drying for16 hours on high, pulsing in a food processor a couple times to reduce chip size, and triple ziplock bags inside double paper bags in a dry place. To go on to powder,a cofee grinder is fast and works great. Straining through a polyester blend shirt keeps all the solids out nicely. You that are lucky enough to live in paradise can cut as needed, but us poor bastards in the cold lands would risk loosing the whole plant cutting it in winter during dormancy/cold times Besides,The potency may be much higher in mid summer(this is just from what I've read somewhere) Are you talking about good results from powder made into syrup ...or just choked down dry.! Gaak! I can't see any point in peeling/despining either.Just strain

    Preparing San Pedro....

actually, there are very good reasons to dry first. 1.totally dry chips will keep for years with little or no change enabling one to harvest and save for future use. Not so once brewed 2.Drying a large amount enables one to eliminate the variables connected with wet weight of plants vs. alkaloid concentration. 3.Having a dry standardized batch enables one to start low,and gradually dial in the desired dose.takes the uncertainty out of it. In other words,if the dry batch is thouroughly mixed,it can be different clones of different concentrations but you can be pretty certain that 40 dry grams will have the same alk concentration anywhere in that batch of chips. what I've noticed time and time again,is people usually dose way low because they are afraid of going too high and end up with just threshold effects. All the bodyload and not much bliss. the other side of the coin(way too much)can be a rough ride. 4.Drying is really easy.My dehydrator will dry 2-300 dry grams in one load overnight.Cutting it and loading takes less than an hour. 5.Then you can reconstitue just as much chips as needed for tst's awesome method
