  1. yeah, thats where I was looking, it seems to be the cheapest I have found. will order a copy depending on how things go in this thread.
  2. I got that one from my local library, not bad(thats where the info regarding the ants came from ace) but obviously not as comprehensive as the other
  3. I thought this would be an interesting thread to discuss on these forums. A number of animal venoms have been reputed to have entheogenic qualities. A species of ants has been reputably swallowed by a tribe of Californian Indians, with the bites injecting the same active substance as that found in cantnip/mint? "Dream fish" found around norfolk island, is reputed to produce dream enhancement. Cane toads have been employed (although bufotenine is not classed as an entheogen.) Anyone know of anyone who has had experiences with these. Anyone care to add to the list of Entheozoological species or ellaborate further on those already outlined. Mods, Please feel free to move this to another sub-forum if you feel this one to be an inappropriate location.

    Entheozoology. Entheogen containing animals

yeah, i hear the 17 inch and 19 inch LCD are very close to extinction. 7 mins to kill a croc, thats pretty lame, paul hogan did it in like 30 seconds.
  5. Didnt have any of my yerba seed come. I read that it needs to be stratified, is this true? any advice? I also am told it has a very poor germ rate anyway.

    Entheozoology. Entheogen containing animals

antoher area of interest which doesnt have much info surrounding it is lichens, and there possible uses as foods, medicines and ofcourse entheogens... I havnt heard of any lichen based entheogen... although I have heard reports of clubmoss, although I am not sure how well documented... its of the topic, but has anyone heard of this?

    Entheozoology. Entheogen containing animals

the problem is, it is a big search. Most western plant isolated medicines have been discovered due to traditional aboriginal use... giving the researcher a nudge in the right direction as far as what to look for... it really is a needle in a haystack once you start to isolate alkaloids. There are exceptions ofcourse.

that is very interesting, not a substance that I would have thought to be found in animals.
  10. Ive never seen this done, and am interested to see what they do. I have grafted 2 onto fairly young prickly pear pups. these were grafted 2 days ago, I will post some pics to show progress. Prickly pears grow very fast, but as graft does not entirely replace the growing tip of pup, I'm not sure how much energy will be devoted to thesan pedro seedlings.. The pup may just grow around it. On the other hand, who knows. Has anyone else tried this?

it would be of interest to keep as a pet. I would think that after the cane toad disaster, that very few amphibians would be allowed into australia

hellnasty, I am not a member of the nook at this point in time, so I am unable to view. I did read a thread here where ms smith suggested that macrogonus was a pach. I do understand the pint you are making though... I might go join the nook so that I may read the thread

true teo. Mescaline content information across several specimens of the same species, could produce an average to work of. Although it would be good to procure information regarding age, environment etc.... Teo, have you any information on content? I know that you have a very good thread dealing with content of some other species. Also teo, not sure what exactly you want edited? could you please be more specific?

it is very presumptuous of you young tripper to question my integrity in regards to "sacred plants", particularly to suggest that I am out, "just to trip", I'm afraid you are mistaken. I am not approaching it in "such a way" I am merely trying to inform myself and others on this particular cacti, which I might add, is not discussed as much, therefore is a bit shadowy in it's mescaline content etc. Mescaline content is discussed openly in threads on this forum. The reason I ask if people know anyone who has had experience, is because, like scops and others, if no scientific research has attempted to find out mescaline content of cacti, then bioassay is often used as a means of proving activity and estimating alkaloid content. The question was not blatant, but just a probe for information... does information equal intent? I have seen many threads regarding the preparation of san pedro... which was openly discussed. I wonder what the elusive "good old days" of this forum were like, more open and less judgemental I would hope. Also young tripper... what do you mean by "I believe I know you?"

You really need to become comforatable with who you are black dragon, and confront your insecurities, So that you can drop this façade of smugness and superiority.

because u are god? I'm not going to get into all this again... the thread is related to cacti, and the mods can move it if they wish. Again, if you don't like the thread, don't contribute. I certainly don't want to hear your unhelpful and condescending comments blackdragon. Also, the particular thread you pointed out wasn't a discussion thread where requests can be posted... maybe you should at least be informed, if you are going to have a superior attitude. It just makes you seem stupid otherwise.

yeah, I tried to milk cane toads once, but couldn't find the nipples.

I can't see how asking if anyone knows anyone who has consumed is incriminating. Just a attempt to get some bioassay information.

Seedling graft,(san pedro to prickly pear)

ended up much like ace described. If I were try again I would tied plastic bag around pup for humidity. Not sure it it is the best stock though, due to too much of the growing tip remaining.
