    Psychedelic Tunes?

Ok, first off WOW! I wasnt expecting that many replies!! All of which seem like great selections. This may be a slightly taboo question, but does anyone object to burnt copies of a few of these being handed around? (Obviously this is a bit of a no-no but some of these CD's/tracks/groups are very rare and need to be enjoyed by all)

    Blue myrtle??? ebay

I think I might have had the same issue - too late in the season to root and put out new growth. I have recently transfered them to a bigger pot and one of them seems to be putting out the tiniest bit of new growth

    Lophophora question

Tis a good idea - there is no reason why you couldnt create a perpetual motion Loph factory by grafting every say, 5th pup that shows up. And for every 5th pup on that 5th pup you could create another graft and just degraft them every now and again - this is the sort of set up I'd like to have in a few years time (just gotta get some peres and more seedlings ). By using this method you could have dozens of lollypops covered in pups and a few decent potted show specimens that are degrafts. No one could really tell, plus the biomass that could be produced in a decade would be ridiculous!! you could probably replace Mexico's endangered populations if we had enough people commited to this endevour - and enough to make them naturalised in the Aussie outback!! (but I suppose you'd only end up with pecker-heads trekking back to dig them back up again...) Just an idea (though a pretty good one in my books )

    Blue myrtle??? ebay

Yeah there's no way that flower's a trich. Though the general shape seems very reminiscent... Very nice cactus in any ones eyes  I've got a couple tiny little Myrtle cuts that i've had in soil for what seems like at least a year now and still no growth. Hopefully this year

    Lophophora question

Not a bad idea - massive clumping specimens are the most visually appealing (at least to me ), though I'm sure a few clumping lolly-pops would look great too. But the natural rooted specimens seem to have much more appeal in collections because you know they havent been forced to grow fast.

    Deformed Loph.

I'll second that - looks like the damaged that caused that scar may have caused some unusual meristem growth, though there is a chance that it could revert back to normal growth later down the track. But fingers crossed

    Cacti Tissue Culture

Cant say that I have any expirience at all, though I'm quite interested in this method with the cacti. Does anyone know if it works well?

    my doorstop is flowering

Very nice there Moses, any ideas on species name? I have something similar at home, though it only grows to about a foot tall and clumps like mad. Never seen flowers though (had the bugger for a good 10 years now...) but that could be cos it's in a pot. BTW, nice looking pedro in the background!

    grafting question

That should be a very powerful pup machine me thinks, though havent tried it. Give it a shot - the graft should have no probs taking (provided you have clean cut surfaces to pair up) and due to the meristem being damaged, it has no other way of continuing growth other than to pup. Though be careful to keep an eye out for pups from the stock instead of the scion - they're obviously not the pups you're after Has anyone tried this method? Anyone recommed it? It sounds like a sound plan to me Moses
  10. Hello All-Knowing Ones can someone help me ID these cuttings i received a few days ago? Just magnificent specimens And any idea what this little bewdy might be? possibly cereus? any further ideas? Thanks for the help guys and/or gals
  11. High Guys and Gals, Would anyone be able to spare a clean spore print - I'm interested in doing a little research. I'd be perticularly interested in a cubie print, or some other actives to do a little comparison to non-actives in my area. Unfortunately I'm running kinda low on things to trade right now, so I'd be happy to pay cash for a sterile print or two. If not, I might be able to spare one more pedro cut if anyone would prefer that. Any takers, please pm me

    Actives in ACT/NSW?

There have been many stories about shrooms on the lawns of Parliament House - whether this is a myth, I'll have to have a look in autumn. And hell if it gets wet between now and then, I'll have a look anyway. foafs have told me about finding patches, though those foafs probably werent all that trustworthy. There have been stories of patches in the Botanic Gardens too, so I'll have to check there while im at it Just for the record - Autumn would be the best time for this climate wouldnt it? No goodies growing in spring/summer me thinks?

    Actives in ACT/NSW?

High guys/gals Does anyone know what active species are located in the ACT and surrounding areas (maybe even the far south coast, like Batemans Bay thru to Eden)? An obvious one is p. subaeruginosa, and its possible siblings- p. eucalypta, p. australiana and p. tasmaniana. Are there any panaeolus varieties in this area (p. subbalteatus or cyanescens)? The shroomery says that Gymnopilus junonius and Psilocybe subaeruginosa are the only Canberran residents, but does anyone have more info for this area? I'm thinking that p. cubensis wouldnt have a hope in hell down here... I'm keen to get out there and do some research (all in the name of science) in the field, but just want to know exactly is out there so I can prepare a little better
  15. I'll have to have a taste me thinks. Until then, I think it may be the cuzcoensis. Is this a fairly common species? I've never run into it before, just wondering if anyone else had?

I could take them off your hands if they are getting out of control

    New garden!

Very nice there Bit - I think it would look tops with a few agaves or other succulents to clump around the bed, and of course a few more columns! But you can never have enough That tall spineless specimen is beautiful! You said you are able to get more cuttings at the drop of a hat - any chance you would be able to send them to the land of Oz? I'd be very happy to purchase a foot or so of it! (i suppose there may be probs getting it thru customs though... ) once again, nice work and looking forward to seeing it complete

    Psychedelic Tunes?

Thanks for all the tunage insights everyone, perticularly Gomaos - I loathe the whole country scene - you might as well start listening to a cat crapping hotdogs... (no offense to any cat-lovers ) I gotta say, love all the oldies like Beatles, Hendrix, Stones, Zeppelin, etc. Those were the days when music was everything. I will have to do a bit of research on a few of them other names, cant say I've even heard of some of them, but looking forward to hearing them anyway. And I'd love to take you up on that offer Gomaos, I'll PM you. Thanks again to every one - this list will help me out for sure Any other suggestions, add them to the pile

    Morning Glory voyages

Thanks for the tips Apo. I was thinking the seed count had to be in the 100's, but I have run into conflicting data on various sites. No havent tried anything along these lines, cant say i'm all that interested considering the factor... Just trying to get some info on it so i can let my foaf know. By 'worthwhile' I meant the threshold levels and beyond. Does anyone recommend LSA's for voyaging (in appropriate countries)? Obviously its possible, but is it worth the effort and factor? Is there any other negatives?

    Actives in ACT/NSW?

Thanks for the tips Botanika - I'll definately be having a look around during autumn (fingers corssed we get some decent rain!) Has anyone ever heard of finding cubes/cyans/libs down Bega way? Or further north (like up to Ulladulla)? I wish this damn drought would break just so we could go out and find something/anything!

    Agrocybe pediades?

Found at the local playing fields on 7/11/06. Tried to ID it using www.mushroomexpert.com using the key and it certainly looks similar. Any other ideas? Phone for size comparison
