  1. Hello all, I'm looking for seeds and/or cutting of this gorgeous plant, a native to the east coast of NSW: Smilax glyciphylla. I have cash and cacti to trade, and maybe a few other ethnos if you're interested. PM to enquire. Theres a bunch of info and really nice pics over at atlas of living australia.

    Meet up: Melbourne

To be honest i think paying 10 bucks to hang out with like-minded plantheads is pretty rubbish. It hasnt cost a dime so far.. so it seems like a step back to introduce a monetary aspect at this point. And the melb bot gardens are ideal on many lelvels, the sticking point being that its the central most point for a geographically dispersed set of ppl to meet at (not to mention all the awesome that the bot gardens is..)
  3. I'll be going up to Mt. Baw Baw on the weekend and thought it best to prepare myself with some knowledge of the area in regards to interesting flora and fauna to check out. Being a sub-alpine region there are lots of shrubby Eucalypts and grasses/sedges to check out, with the Baw Baw berry (Wittsteinia vacciniacea) being one of the main attractions along with the critically endangered Baw Baw frog (Philoria frosti), if you can find it! Theres also lots of trails and walk to get lost on and explore and I'm sure I will do both of those. I'm curious as to what kinds of mushrooms I might find up there too, as well as other interesting plants and rocks. Do you have any experiences or info on Mt. Baw Baw or the adjacent national park, Baw Baw National Park? If you do then this is the place to share it

  5. looks like a pretty good business strategy IMO: rebuild trust while instilling faith in the brand all while keeping consumers from being drawn to a potential competitor or completely severing from the service. they'd be much more like to stick around after a shoulder-rub like that..

State of the Cactus Scene - rant

Here in Australia its quite different: there are numerous well-established cacti farms (private and open) with pretty awesome people owning and running them that will gladly put up bulk sales of their stock. Have you tried only the Arizona area? maybe that particular state is prone to fuckwits not giving you a chance.. you could have better luck in other states.

State of the Cactus Scene - rant

so did each of these persons you contacted actually refuse to sell to you? Or did you instead find yourself swallowed up by the incessant ranting and were put off sticking it out and sealing a deal? Persistence pays off but if they really are refusing to sell wholesale bulk then maybe you are better off growing your own

    mu's muving sale: part 1

I was under the same impression too, that it was a peruvianus but then someone pointed out to me that it was a cuzco. This 'Gnosis' is from a plant I bought through the SAB store about 7-8 years ago.
