It may be the cows there avoid the low lying land. Maybe a bit soggy/snakey, and there might be better grass elsewhere? Are there trees on the slopes that offer any shade?

I am beginning to believe there are certain species of grass that foster better mycelial growth and hence fruiting? Any thoughts?

There were quite a few trees down in the lowest soggy regions so, at least for that area, you need to get a little higher. I did that today and went through a fence nearby and was shocked to find them everywhere.

They certainly seem to love the shade, and the combination of high shade (trees)  and low shade (grass).

Great point about grass types I might get some pics of common paddock grasses ready for next time so I can identify them and see if there's a pattern. Very interesting!

  2. Awesome! I spotted a bunch but for whatever reason, I never find them in low lying areas, always on slopes and usually more to the top of them.

It must be the spot I go to, there's been thousands of pans down where it's real soggy but never a single cube in such a large area until I walk up the hill (which is quite small so I don't find a huge amount).

  3. Is it too wet to try tmw morning? Do they still pop up while it's wet? Gonna try and get out before sunrise either tmw or next few days.

Wet>dry for a few days seems to be a good pattern, but do they disintegrate if it's wet again or do they keep pushing up?

    Thanks :shroomer:

  4. Cheers for the info man, when you say blocks are you talking about rockwool?

I have a heat mat for tricho seedlings so could probably just run rockwool on the mat, inside a clear storage tub.

Does cloning gel expire? I've got some from like 3 years ago...

  5. Hi guys,

I'd like to get started into cloning very soon and am hoping for suggestions on which method to choose. This will be for cloning a variety of plants like Kat for example, but also some trickier ones.

I've seen some DIY aerocloner type things that look pretty nice. I'd have to find a good watertight tub somewhere as all the online builds are using "rubbermaid".

The other option is jiffy pellets/pots in a storage tub in the shade outside. (I imagine this will work?)

    Anyone have fors/againsts/other recommendations?

    Cheers :)

Or horses. Horses dung is actually better. A horses digestive system is not as efficient as a bovines so the poopy from a horse has more nutrition left in it. And cubes love it!

Oh really? Nice.. I reckon horses might give you more flak if you were to wander round them though. I remember as a very small kid a horse chased me and flipped me over a fence.. They are cheeky as fuck.

On a side not, I got a second job that involves working next to and sometimes with cattle on huge vacant properties... Jackpot!!

  8.  A lot of the pans I found were black because they were lower than one that had dropped spores on them.

There is blue text in the reply box (on mobile) that says "click to choose files" you click that and them navigate to the photo you want to upload, good luck.

Ya just gotta have a good look aye.

Defo some cubes there @Pedro99, maybe even an albino gilled one. Looks like a few different panaelous species there though, some actives for sure; I give any suspects a good pinch on the stem and hold em for a while to see if they blue. Pans do take a while to blue, but they don't have that fibrous brown stem of other panaelous sp.

    Think you're right mate I

ended up throwing 5 or so that had fibrous stems just like you said. I snapped the stem and left for 10-15mins to make sure. The actives turned blue almost black at the snap point.

I couldn't believe how many there were and so many more there still!

  10. Thanks Zonad! Yeh one big and two small cubes were hiding in some knee deep grass. There were also some old melted looking ones that I left alone. I'll attach a pic to show the cubes but I'm not sure if it's dumb to do so.

Got a lot more pans than are in the pic, it is unreal.
