This source of beneficial bacteria seems like a great idea. Although, it isn't going to do much good if it gets PCed. But, it should do nicely once its pasteurised properly.

Sweet, so I am probably wasting my time on the spawn run, but may be gaining some benefits on the bulk colonization stage? Cheers Cue

I didn't honestly consider that, and bloody good to know as this stuff isn't cheap. Its not like liquid gold, but it ain't cheap. $40something for 500ml at PETBARN I think the shop was. I use 20ml for a 10Litre bio soup, but to 'Rapidly Start' your fresh water aquarium in 3 days it recommends 15ml for 20L. So essentially I'm more than doubling the strength for mushroom application vs aquarium application. I've got nothing to show side by side comparisons or anything, but I've definitely had improved results over the months from original vanilla hpoo recipes vs these dank ass enriched recipes; Speedier colonization, at a more consistent rate with less things stalling/restarting 'start/stoping'. Fuller canopy flushes.

This has been fuckin' around with MS mind you. But now with the arrival of a new flow hood just today (Saturday couriers Woohoo!) I can begin to venture into the world of cloning and isolating.

This is where a true test of the benefits of enriched trays vs standard trays can be performed using the same isolates. Stay tuned for updates.

  2. lol, from what I hear his son is happy to point customers in the right direction, but doesn't know from first hand experience, only what other customers tell him. So if hes that way, I wonder if his dad was the same or had the experience.

Either way, thank fuck there is a 100 year old cactus garden in Aus good on that family man! I love the way he talks about his dad too, he idolizes him Its fkn beautiful.

    smells like cooking...

Nice one thunderhorse. Another golden nugget of info, appreciate that one mate. On future travels oversea's (depending on the local laws) I might try this out  sounds interesting.

Maybe your swimbo friend could of even put some dried b.caapi material in there too, or would a smoked maoi + muscarine be asking for trouble?

  4. I've always felt a connection to this shroom. My old mans side of the family are all new Australians from Finland - there's a lot of Scandinavian and Nordic Folklore surrounding this mushy.

The thought of consumption scares the fuck out of me though...

sagi do you have any experience peeling and drying the skins, then smoking the skins? The mulled up red skins and white warts are active when smoked I remember reading somewhere. Is this true?

  5. Well everything grows Zedo, just heaps slower it seems. I'm used to my mums garden on the Midnorth Coast, shes bout an hour south of Coffs Harbour. Everything grows so quickly! Heaps of different tropical plants. Her staghorns and elkhorns just go bonkers. They actually sprout up on neighboring tree's from spores in the breeze. Where as our Staghorn is really stalled. I think I've gotta gear my garden toward natives that grow normally around this area. We've got some baby grass tree's recently planted - There is a particular road close by in Conjola National Park called "Grass Tree Road"... There's like 8ft fkn blackboys along the side of the track, so many of them too its RIDICULOUS. I'll get photo's next time I'm in there.

Anyway from what people are saying trichs are pretty resilient, so I'm going to source some plants and see how I go over the next 12 months. :)

Awesome place by the way skellum.

Damn , that is a nice place skellum .

Thanks heaps fellas, I'll tell the old man you approve :P

He bought it as a vacant block when he was 19 y/o - 35 years ago for nicks.

Worth a fortune now, our generation will never see investments like that. He lived in an easier time I reckon...

PM me your address if ya like, ill send ya a fat foot tip of Psycho0 to start ya off.

Its a super fast grower so its probably a good tester to see how it handles the salt.

Change, your an absolute gentleman. Thank you so very much mate, beyond belief!

Its like a sign from the gods, I actually just hit up Ambient earlier this morning for his last available Psycho0. I wonder if he will be able to post from WA to NSW? I'm yet to hear back from him.

Nice one guys, I'm excited.  :)

  7. Hey guys n' gals,

I'm new to the forums & wondering if anyone in a similar climate has had success with Trichos this close to the ocean?

I've just recently moved down the South Coast, NSW and am interested in purchasing some cuttings for the garden. I'm just wondering how well Trichs will survive and tolerate the harsh ocean winds + salt spray?

We literally have to wash the house windows twice a week here. The car's getting rooted and my computer is rusting rapidly. Wouldn't trade it for the world though - this place is healing beyond belief.

The spot I'd eventually want them in the ground is probably less than 60m from open ocean with little protection from a east, south/easterly winds. Soil is average too, high amounts of sticky orange red clay in the Shoalhaven & Illawarra. I should be able to improve the soil with time though. I'd be leaving them in their pots sitting on these gold pebbles for a year or so to acclimatize until planting them in the ground in the same spot.

Will I have any luck here do you guys think, or should I be putting them in the front yard (road side) where its more protected from the ocean/wind, but less sunny?

  8. Imagine all that beautiful rain forest, and all those sacred admixture plants they are ripping out of the ground to plant GMO soybeans instead... Bloody sad mate.

Interesting about the Alfalfa and Soy that you keep seeing pop up. I might give em' a try.

I use shell grit, works a treat. slow release long term PH buffer. I don't even bother powdering it.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In a 7L Sistema Container I use as trays. I'd add:

    -1 cup of shell grit.Shell Grit.jpg

-1 cup of shredded (desiccated) coconut.Coconut.jpg

-1 cup of dehydrated seaweed meal (sourced straight from the ocean, dried in food dehydrator and ground)Seaweed1.jpg

    -1/2 cup of bee pollen.Bee Pollen.jpg

-1/2 cup of nut yeast flakes.Yeast.jpg

Add all that to about 6litres (of a 7L tray) Hpoo/Straw 60:40 ratio.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hydrate with a nice bio-active soup:

To a 10litre camper canteen of STREAM WATER (rich with tea tree tannins & all sorts) I source from a local Nat Park, I add:
-100ml Healthy Earth liquid fert (its my fave organic seaweed extract with added volcanic minerals and PH balanced) Liquid Fert.jpg

-20ml Blue Planet Aquarium Rapid Start (Beneficial Bacteria for fresh water Aquariums)Beneficial Bacteria.jpg

^ You can hydrate both your PF cakes (if PCing) AND your turd trays with this soup. They love it.

Sorry if pix are crappy, I've got a budget phone.
