  1. The flowers are emerging once again but more importantly so are the fruit which didnt set at the end of last season. Ridiculous amounts of seed in these fruits so dont let the ants and mice get to em. The most so far for me is 33 seeds from the one fruit but out of the half dozen or so i have picked off so far there has been well over 20 seeds in each. The caespitosa fruits however still only have the small numbers of seed.

  2. ive seen pix of crested trichocereus schickendantzii(on swap n sell a long time ago,PD maybe?)

I have pics of 2 schicky crests and an E. oxygona in my gallery. Crests are very very hard to ID and the only reason im 100% on the ID of my crests is due to the fact i found them growing from the mother plants i have in my garden. My oxygona crest grows ridiculously fast, going from a 20 cent piece size to a dinner plate in around 2 years and that was with little to no care, just a sprinkle of water every now and then. It will most likely go under the knife this season :)

  3. I had a lil theory about what was goin on here but i never got around to posting it and now i cant really recall what it was exactly. It was something like the plants on the outer parts are all larger and obviously have more/bigger roots, with every feeding/watering the larger plants are taking up the water faster and faster and in turn the soil in the middle dries out slower. Unused salts from the ferts are building up in the middle where it dries out slower and the smaller plants arent able to use them so they look malnourished compared to the plants on the outer of the pot...... OR, the soil is just too poor and the plants in the middle arent getting anywhere near enough moisture as it drains away/dries far too rapidly and the plants are unable to draw in any nutes. If you are soaking from the bottom i would say its the first problem but if you are watering from the top then id say the latter, either way its time to split them all up and put them in individual pots, you should have no problems with them then.

  4. Thanks for the replies everyone. I thought i had a lil dollar to throw on a phone but now it looks as though i will hafta get a lil cheapo for 30-50bux lol. I tend to agree wit ya incog, keep it simple etc but the new phones have a lot of useless crap to keep a fool like me entertained whilst nothing else is happening. Anyways, im kickn myself in the balls atm for dropping that god-damned thing in water, the fact i still have the plan and no phone is also a major blow to the testicles i will inflict upon myself in due course.

    cheers.

  5. So, i finally sucked it up and got on a plan, no more prepaid screwin around. I also got a phone on the plan at $10 a month, i finally had a half descent phone.........

Then the other day whilst doing my stay at home dad chores the phone somehow fell out of my pocket into a bucket of soaking clothes, fuckin awesome, i have had this phone only a month or less and this happens!! It was a split second, I dried out the thing on top of a fluoro light and after a few hours it seemd dry and was still working fine, a few more hours later it decided to go retarded and switch itself on and off a few times then finally off. I got it to turn back on but the touchscreen was unresponsive surprise surprise. No amount of drying since has fixed it and i assume it is completely fucked.

I called vodafail and due to being a new customer that had no insurance (first time they had mentioned it!) there was nada to be done, i have to wait 2 more months before they will put another phone on a payment plan. That means i need to purchase a new handset outright and my question to you is, which phone??????

The phone i had was an xperia x10 mini which wasnt too bad a phone but now i think id like something a lil bigger perhaps like the nexus s, so many choices out there.

    whaddya reckon?????

  6. #2 is super pedro aka cordobensis aka lance aka spiney scop. Have seen a few examples of this from HHH in melbs, one person i know was told by the hhh staff their super ped cutting was super pedro x psycho0 but its just plain old super ped. I have seen enough offspring and parents in all conditions of said cross to know the seller was talking shit about its ID, cant expect too much from HHH though!

  7. the J3 is just a mongrel. Trying to so simply categorize the J3 seems like a fools errand.

I couldnt agree more really Michael, like trying to "guess" the origin of any plant with an unknown background, it is a hopeless mission without a solid answer at the end. All based on assumption and personal views which is why i like to just clump plants into whatever category I think they fit. Doing this i have found upsets some ppl easily and they would rather use long winded terms or argue their assumptions about plants rather than "clump" plants into groups, but, each to their own.

For example, the plant i have labeled as "short spine bridgesii" is an obvious hybrid, found growing in a large psycho0 planting next to another strange looking bridgesoid, my assumption is a fallen fruit from psycho0 which was pollinated by a PCpach as it looks extremely similar to the plants of the same cross i have grown yet i will never know for sure. Therefore, due to its general appearance, short spined brigesii seems apt regardless of what ppl assume and would like to argue in regards to its "true" name/origin, after all, you can only fit so much on a label and i havent got time to argue about what may or may not be.

When anyone asks about J3, what is it etc, my general answer is a hybrid of peruvianoid appearance. Anything other than that is just speculation, but we all like trying to solve a good mystery dont we :)

I mean, what is the super-pedro?

Yeah, when are you going to sort out that cordobensis, lance, super pedro conundrum for us Michael :P I thought i read somewhere about it being a Sth Am import to Au???? dunno, my memory is as good as my organisational skills, sweet fuk all to nil. I guess if i get off my arse and go get the tissue samples for the DNA tests we are quarter of the way there, best do it before my interest in all this wanes completely!.

  8. The J3, to my eye, looks quite bridgesii..

Interesting you say that nitro. When i first encountered J3 i pressumed it to be a bridgie x super pedro, the idea of super ped being a parent came when i saw the two plants (J3 and S ped) in close proximity to each other and flowering at the same time (the only trichos flowering on that day). The flowers on the J3 were very similar to the super ped, ie, the flowers seemed large. Anyone that has seen super ped flower will understand what im saying when i say "seemed large" as the flowers look big and fat but are in fact around the same size as other tricho flowers. I quizzed the owner who gave me the cryptic reply "well it very well could be", with a wide grin. I think the grin he gave was perhaps more for me trying to figure out the impossible lol. I do see bridgie traits in J3 especially if it is grown hard in full sun etc.

I'm not even sure if SP is the mother and J3 is the father

Mum first, dad second :) MUM X DAD

Who was doing that genetic testing again....... :P

  9. Maybe it is just a product of the flash, the striking white that is. The moisture on the pach and knuth cuttings showed up as that silver so i assume any white surface would have reflected back a bit of light making it seem a brighter white, just look at the pebbles in the pot!

Incog, i agree wit ya about tha scale, although here scale digs the old standard pc pach more than knuth. I was scale free until i got sent a cutting of a "mystery tricho" from the free trade thread here. Fuckin thing wasnt even a tricho, just some spiney spachy lookin thing and it was covered in scale, i should have turfed it but now i bear the burden that is scale.

I might go back thru that free trade thread and haunt whoever sent me that god forsaken piece of crap!

  10. It was me. Slack as i let this one go for a couple of weeks too long due to other more pressing matters and the fact was i didnt have the money after bills etc so i had to wait till this fortnights pay, then the post office was closed yesterday so today it got posted. Problem solved and there is a free loph graft in the package which is on its way.

The sale of the items was at tha start of June, month and a week ago to be precise, payment was made a week or so later. There has been no communication between dreamscape and myself whatsoever so this -

I have been contacting them for months now with no reply
.... is a bit of a lie. I did have a few dramas with my email addy but im pretty sure it didnt affect my PMs as the prob i had in that regard was sorted today and in no way had anything to do with me not sending out as promptly as expected.

There is no hunab/conan shenanigans going on here at all, i failed to let dreamscape know that the item would be posted late and he failed to PM me at all to ask, no big drama, as soon as i saw this thread i knew it would be about the package of hybrids seedlings that had been sitting next to me for a week or so. If it is in regards to something else then i got no idea and you will have to PM me dreamscape!

To the other ppl out there that are waiting on things, this week they be posted :)..... perhaps ill PM you :P

    PD.

  11. I only skimmed over that, no i didnt, i barely read anything of it lol. Heard a bit on the tv, my god it sounds like a load of shit! The horror, australia is going to be overrun with beef cattle now we arent live exporting.

There is such a thing as carcass and meat export ffs. Even if the costs of getting them slaughtered etc was barely worth it, it would be better than a complete loss plus the cost of the disposal of the dead cattle.

Surely the is an abbatoir which can be utilised in their area. Really though, someone here might correct me as I got no idea about the cattle trade in the area mentioned so im prolly getting it all wrong but it all just sounds like rubbish to me.

The first i saw of this it was T Abbott saying farmers are on suicide watch due to the live export ban, imo they are suicidal due to how fucked for political choice we are in this country.
