    Panda keepers dress as pandas.

The panda suits used in pornos are much more life-like
  2. Probably not, the 1.5 lbs of pot would have been more than enough to protect the cops. I got raided once on a false and totally ridiculous charge made my a 12 year old that was pissed at me and I got caught with far less than that much pot. The cops took us aside and said if we give no trouble then the pot will appear to be for personal use. We agreed. They proceeded to rob us. Gold bars, platinum rings, lab gear, books, cash... a sizable loss but still cheaper than a lawyer and a court battle. Cops may not know a marijuana bud from a bundle of kale, but they know how to abuse the system. And never consent to a search. Your lucky they didnt find where you sneezed on the dash board and called the goo GHB

    graft experimentation :-)

Its in his avvy, but you have to look close. You can see them grafted on between the ears. Look, I'll enlarge it:
  4. 1) Did you try just drinking the decoction? 2) Was it real? The fake one is actually being farmed for marketable foliage now. ... 3) it might not work on everybody
  5. I dont have any in my collection yet, or not any more as mine died. Oddly they are never sold here, my region gets all its market cacti up from arizona and new mexico and they never bother with northern cacti, lol This winter I'm trying seed again.
  6. What I need is to start remembering to rename my photos so I can find them Yup, got some northern E. vivipara. Theyre actually in the ground here But not native, only non-Opuntioideea stuff native here is Pediocactus nigrispinus. I tried like hell this year to cross E. vivipara with Mammillaria rhodantha, but alas there will be no Mammibaria baby pics

    Overwintering Cacti

Yeah, dormancy in trichs is not a factor of day length. And lots of light will not assure no etoliation, as hot lights will cause etoliation (I've grown directly under 400 and 1000 W MH, cacti etoliated under both, I'm told its the infrared from the heat of the bulbs) I just made most of my collection go dormant. I went 3 weeks without watering them to get the soil dry and moved them to cold windows and a cold pantry I made out of a bedroom. They wont grow until spring, but that also means they wont etoliate.
  8. Ok, so I grew "hyssop" seed and got something that looks nothing like hyssop It looks exactly like Agastache rugosa tho. However, A. rugosa is usually quoted as having an 'anisey' or 'licoricey' odor. When I mash this plant it just says MINT. I've been using it as mint in chutneys and mint vinegar, its nice. Can Agastache rugosa smell like mint? Or is there something that looks almost exactly like it but smells like mint? In a frantic pre-early-frost working spree I harvested its seed heads and I'm tormented by what I should write on the label
  9. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks after autumnal equinox here, moved all the less hardy ones indoors. All 122 less hardy ones. I want to move to texas

    Minty Korean Mint?

Hmm, I may have found a clue as to why many sources cite it as anisey while a few cite it as minty alone (and freaking call it Korean Mint ) As a more obscure herb in the west its probably mostly been spread by gardeners, many of whom likely also grew anise hyssop (A. foeniculum) So I'll go with Lok and regard this as the real deal. Right on
  11. Yeah diet seems to play a role, not just sugar and caff but also food dyes and probably some preservatives and chemical contaminants too. I have a vague memory of a paper saying dietary bacterial intake influences neurotransmitters, not surprising if true as our gut critters modify what we absorb quite a bit. Perhaps the food just being too sterile might be part? Bread has nothing but dead yeast now. No more healthy bacteria, not even in so called 'sourdough' (which is now white flour and yeast balloon bread dyed brown and spiked with malic acid). Same with store bought sauerkraut and kimchee, no bacteria in the process at all. It was disconcerting to discover that a single slice of my home made bread has more fiber than an entire loaf of "8 Grain" bread (which required food dye to make it a fibery brown color). But I doubt its diet alone. I've repeatedly heard "ADHD" people say they got some relief just by turning off the TV and radio and leaving them off. Permanently. Out of curiosity I turned on a TV and watched a bit- its all abrasive flashy lights, swirly things, shit flying at the screen, and yelling now. TV used to be like Mr. Rogers and Married With Children, shows that took their time to make a point or a joke, now its like a meth addled ping pong tournament is using the camera as the ball in a room full of neon lights. If I watched that for 8 hours a day I'd have adrenal burnout too.

Marijuana Withdrawal Is Real, Study Says

Unfortunately pot is a gateway drug for TV. After breaking my pot habit in '03 TV just wasnt the same. It wasnt long before I stopped my TV habit too. If someones got a bad TV addiction, temporarily stopping pot use might help while trying to break the TV habit. My observations lead me to believe similar is true for beer and american football. Thankfully I never drank so much beer that american football became entertaining but I've seen chronic football users ease up on their habit when they began drinking less beer.

Marijuana Withdrawal Is Real, Study Says

Well I said its real too, You missed my point. Just probably being at least partly right doesnt prove that something is not pseudo-science. The guy in question is an anti-marijuana campaigner with a blatant bias who had to publish his paper in his own journal just to get it in print, they used a small sampling of people who did not want to quit cannabis. I cant see his raw data but I have a hard time believing his claim of a statistical relationship of p = 0.0001 is even possible in a sample size of 3 dozen with no control group and most results collected by questionnaires and observations of behavior. Bottom line is he forced people to do something they didnt want to, and grossly disrupted their life in doing it. No fucking shit they reacted disfavorably! He then proceeded to push his political adgenda. The guy wrote his conclusion before he wrote his hypothesis. Marijuana abuse is bad. So is pseudo-science, even if well intentioned.

Marijuana Withdrawal Is Real, Study Says

I smoked pot daily for 10 years and ciggies daily for 13 years (started both at the same time) and cigs were an order of magnitude harder to quit. I always wonder about these scientists, who would not have got their jobs if they had ever admitted to using drugs in their younger days, claiming pot is as addictive as tobacco or heroin or crack. Quitting pot did cause withdrawal symptoms for me, but fuck sake so does quitting anything that permeates every waking hour of your life. I think much of the manufactured 'concern' over marijuana 'addiction potential' is just setting the stage for future blow jobs for pharmaceutical companies. Over here they already give things like xanax, stilnox, and effexor for 'marijuana addiction' (how ironic is that?) and those treatments can even be mandated by courts! And thats without the condition of marijuana addiction even officially existing, just imagine when more of these pseudo-science papers get it put on the books. Let people manage their biochemistry their own way. People will still make mistakes, but at least their mistakes will be their own and not imposed on them by others.

US calls Assange 'enemy of state'

With luck he'll escape to Venezuela, violate a traffic law, and with Hugos urging be sentenced to 1000 hours community service. Accomplished by spending 1000 hours leaking info that the global community has a right to know. Wouldnt it be great if President Chavez were a member here? As for the US's claim that he is an enemy for reporting news, next it will be liberal reporters, and then anyone who criticizes the president.

Bad news about KTBotanicals and Kiwiboancaya

I quite doubt that pipermethystine is the end of the story. I wouldnt eat the stuff, but it being the causative factor for liver injuries is speculative. All the people who died of liver failure while on kava were using pharmaceutical drugs that are known to harm the liver. The pharmaceutical companies and their paid representatives in governments blamed kava so vociferously to take suspicion away from the pharms the people were on. Kava alters activities of numerous metabolic enzymes and may have made the pharms more toxic but many common foods would do similar so even that factor wasnt mentioned. As the islanders get more westernized and get put on diabetes meds and antidepressants, I would speculate that kava will be vilified once again when people get sick from the pharms they take.

Bad news about KTBotanicals and Kiwiboancaya

Not all blame lies on the fraudulent dealers. Most, but not all. Like the old saying goes, dont take any wooden nickels. I hate the perversely unbalanced shipping charge trick tho, wastes so much of my time looking at items with a seemingly good price. Have people reported any experiences from making 'kava' brews out of Piper auritum roots?

What weird things do you collect

Color treated agate and titanium treated quartz. I got the gene from my grandmother too. She stocked up on stuff like no one else, I'm still using blank labels, dish towels, etc. she stocked up on in 1955 lol.

I found a new one, psychedelic color treated stones:
  21. Some folks here have found partial relief of withdrawal symptoms by smoking cured Heimia foliage. H. salicifolia and H. myrtifolia work equally well. A friend of mine was in a similar situation, doctor decided on a whim to force her to go cold turkey (criminal misconduct, IMO). I stuck some Heimia in the mail for her. When it arrived at her house they were literally getting ready to take her to the emergency room at the hospital because of uncontrollable sobbing and shivering. Her dad trusts me and so he got her to smoke one of the pre-made Heimia rollies I included, he hoped it would make the ride to the hospital easier. It reduced the symptoms well enough that they decided not to go to the hospital at all (saving them several hundred dollars) and she held out another day and a half until she got to see a new doctor for a taper. Once on the taper Heimia was often the only way she could get sleep after each step to a lower dose. It apparently works quite well for some people.

    What are your ethnic origins?

100% Abya Yalan But to be more precise I'm one of the forums mutts English, irish, scottish, italian, cherokee, and likely other bits and pieces from europe. What that means is I have strange hobbies (english), I love starchy foods (italian), too many drinks come after the first (irish), I know who plays the bagpipes best (scottish ), and I have a tendency to go off into the spirit world for healing (cherokee) The anglo-saxon bit did give me a cool name at least, some day near retirement I might open a shop with it "L☮veJ y"

    remedies for 'brainfriedness'

This is probably the most essential bit and its not a days thing or a weeks thing, it can literally take years. The integration phase of psychedelics and even pot is essential and if either is chronically abused it can take a long time to balance back out. I've been there. So yeah, eat greens and meditate and take Rhodiola if you want- but most importantly stay away from the sugar cubes for a year or three!
