WAKE UP AND SMELL THE TEAR GAS

nabraxas, If your refering to my post I wasnt talking about fertilizer bombs, I was talking about making TNT (or similar) out of car parts, accesories, and some used coffee. Yeah, the bali bomb didnt look like a prills and oil job (the 'fertilizer bomb') but it could have been a shaped charge of TNT or RDX.
  2. After seeing Torsten strongly advocate Course Sharp Sand (CSS) so many times I was starting to think he had invested in course sharp sand manufacturing plants and was trying to boost his profits, but I finally tried it and IT DOES WORK QUITE GOOD! I got some acacia seeds from him and soaked 4 until they swelled and planted them in 1/2 cactus soil 1/2 potting soil, none sprouted. I soaked 4 more and planted them in cactus soil, one sprouted. I then found CSS so I soaked 5 seeds and planted them in 70% CSS 30% potting soil, ALL FIVE SPROUTED! So when Torsten talks about the wonders of course sharp sand listen to him (and dont use cactus soil as a 'substitute'.) Now the fun part starts, I get to spend 1/4 of my remaining life span turning these cute little seedlings into superb tropical bonsai.

    Natural Birth Control

For guys: Sperm bank deposits followed by vasectomy (sp?). Even if the 'spermcicles' are destroyed, vasectomies can usually be reversed cant they?

Is anyone ever on Chilli Sauce?

I dont generally like chat rooms (too social, not anonymous enough, too demanding, reminds me of parties- I hate parties, or something like that) But I gave it a go just to see. Well, its been connecting for a half hour. Whats up with that? 'Connecting' for an hour now, I give up. [This message has been edited by Auxin (edited 31 October 2002).]

"has anyone seen 'jacobs ladder'?" Yup, it provides yet another reason I wont be a chemist for the government.

    Drugz r bad.....m'kay

Seeing as how its aimed at very strict purist type christians its not TOOOO offensive. But bigoted, yes. It is interesting though how they only focus on the very worst of the worst (like in saying some people have used drugs to commune with deamons they never say 'but more often its to speak with god or examine the path to morality and philisophical purity.) Perhaps they just dont know the virtues of the right use of entheogens, or perhaps they ignore the truth. As Lao tzu said: "Knowing ignorance is strength Ignoring knowledge is sickness" I think these people are sick.

US marines to assasinate FARC leaders.

"who gives a shit about these smelly over-rated yankies??" Hey... I may be over rated, but I'm not smelly. I bathe frequently, and not in cheap cologne like some of my countrymen.

    BZ

Probably not BZ. BZ is a strong and very long lasting hallucinogen related to the tropane alkaloids (like in datura) it makes you trip out bad, has even worse side effects, and does not normally induce sleep. The stuff they used in russia was labled "sleep inducing 'gas'" by political and media types. OH, it doesnt matter but BZ is not a gas, in pure form its a crystaline solid (most chemical warfare weapons labled 'gas' are not gasses but solutions or powders that are finely arosolized by explosives or mechanical means, go figure). Here and there there are wispers of the US having developed a sleep inducing 'gas' a few years ago and when CNN had coverage of a russian dude giving a statement as to what exactly happened they cut off the feed when he was about to say who they got it from, Hmmm... Darn pesky CIA giving away our experimental chemical warfare weapons.

    Vinpocetine is a hangover cure?

"the root of the kudzu plant" Oh God, please tell me you arent growing that outside in australia. The vine that ate the south, foot-a-night vine, mile-a-minute vine, ecological disaster. I hope you dont have lynch mobs in australia, because if they find out your growing that they'll tie you to a tree and stone you to death with cane toads!

US marines to assasinate FARC leaders.

Damnit, WTF? I think the US should change the rules so they need congressional AND voter AND UN approval before attacking anyone. We have been fighting someone or other every year since 1943, and the last justifiable military action we took part in was WAY back in 1945! And Iraq, W T F? They have NEVER messed with the US. Not now, not in 1991, never N_E_V_E_R! We just use them to test out all our newest conventional weapons and chemical weapons (illegal chemical weapons in most cases- that includes DU based ammo) in order to divert public attention from the politicians corruption and to reduce the price of oil. And now colombia again? This is wrong people. Really really wrong. I suggest boycots and trade embargos be put into place against 'my' country until they stop killing innocent people for fun and profit. Next spring I'll grow MUCH more of my own tobacco than usual, that'll cut down on how much of my money is paying for unjustified killing quite a bit (it'll cut down on my smoking too, I havent figured out the whole curing thing and uncured tobacco is VERY POTENT! And harsh.)

"I dont count the fact that SD sets viable seed that comes out like SD as definitive proof that it is not a hybrid species."- reville Thats not what I said, I said: "While its not PROOF, it does indicate that the probability of S. divinorum being a hybrid is lower than generally thought." And I was under the impression that by hybrid y'all meant a F1 or F2, but as Torsten pointed out: "salvia div is not an F1 hybrid, but quite possibly F4+n" I guess it all depends on how far you carry the term hybrid. Carry it to infinity and all life on earth are hybrids, humans (Homo sapiens sapiens) being something like F972 hybrid of Homo erectus and Homo sapiens neandertalensis. In any case I'll say the key divinorum dilema phrase again: More study needed.

  18. S. divinorum has been grown from seed, and the resulting plants are said to have been S. divinorum. While its not PROOF, it does indicate that the probability of S. divinorum being a hybrid is lower than generally thought. More study required. Also, if it is a hybrid whos to say that the parent species are not extinct? My theory is that S. divinorum is a true species that may have gone extinct in the wild after it lost most of its seed producing ability and a few captive ones were kept alive by native americans. Its happened before, ginkgo went extinct in the wild and a few plants in a monestary garden (or emperial garden, I forget witch) were kept alive. From them the species was reestablished across the globe.

  20. "Sal div... if they are viable and someone is willing to trade them" The question is what would be a fair trade for viable seed? 1 gram sal div seed for 10 grams gold? 15 grams gold? 100 viable seeds for one viable human kidney? I think trading S. divinorum seed would be immoral 90% of the time. That sage is in EXTREME peril due to a tremendous lack of biodiversity, if someone was good enough at growing it to get seed they should grow the seed, designate each seedling with a unique cultivar code, and trade or give away labled cuttings of those new 'cultivars'. Thats what my moral code says anyway. [This message has been edited by Auxin (edited 27 October 2002).]

    Natural Birth Control

I think jack was talking about drugs that prevent rather than terminate. As for the condoms, don't some religions forbid their use? Sure that usually applies to all forms of birth control, but your partner would be unlikely to figure out that the daily cup of tea is really birth control, but the condom is kind of hard to hide.

    Lifelong Acacia Challange

"I always thought acacias were mostly self pollinating."- reville Many plants are, thats the tedious and stressful part of cross pollination. You gotta get to the flower in the hours before it starts producing its own pollen, carefully castrate the male bits, dust it with your pollen, and tie a nylon stocking over it to protect it from other pollen that might happen to arrive from elsewhere. Thats how I do it with the capsicum genus anyway. Note- girls look at guys strangely when guys ask for any spare nylon stockings they might have laying around, and they never believe that its for plants

    Lifelong Acacia Challange

Heres a challange for the truly devoted (and patient) ethnobotany enthusiast. It has been found that (at least in some plants) the seed produced from pollen that was dessicated and stored at 3 C for 7 to 10 days minimum produce plants with an increased level of cold tolerance (presumably because the pollen that produces cold intolerant plants is itself cold intolerant). So my challange to you is to perform cross pollination with cold treated pollen in Acacia maidenii, grow the seeds, after a few years kill 75% with cold and when they get old enough to reproduce repeat the process, and repeat, and repeat, etc. until you obtain a cultivar that can withstand snow! Shamans, ethnobotanists, and many others will speak your name with deep and genuine reverence for generations to come. In a hundred years you may even become a religious icon in colder areas 'The one who brought us the sacred wattle' 'the bringer of the plant' 'the enlightened purvayor of the flesh of the gods' 'bodhisattva wattlemuni.' Hey, it could happen.

    Lifelong Acacia Challange

Whats this, do we have a volunteer? Common reville, you can do it. And yes, I chose the easiest (all be it the longest) method because most people cant genetically engeneer trees and grow them from single cells on agar plates. I did a little genetic engeneering in high school, so I know how EXTREMELY expensive it can get. I'm glad I didnt have to pay for the materials I used to make E. coli ampacillin resistant!
