Also, its probably serves to scare off some of the hunters who aren't as passionate or respectful to the area.

    If you wait until July, I can get you wild prints... As tripsis said, the glowing species in NSW at this time of year is most likely a Mycena sp.

    The term used to describe a culture losing its vigour is 'Senescence' http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Senescence. As stated above, a master or 'mother' culture can stop this to a point. Age is inevitable, at which point you need to start from a fresh print.
